"It's like this: my grandson Chen Ran wants to pursue a girl. However, she comes from a prominent family and possesses considerable strength, not to mention her rather difficult temperament. So I thought it best if you could step in; your influence is certainly much greater than mine," Chen Jie Li said somewhat awkwardly. Asking Wu Shiding to help his grandson pursue a girl was indeed a delicate matter.
"That's a small favor. Chen Ran is like my nephew; of course, I will support him. Which young lady has caught his eye?" Wu Shiding asked with a grin.
"Thank you, Uncle Wu! The girl I like is Lin Yin from the orphanage in Nangang City; she’s right here," Chen Ran said excitedly, calling out "Uncle Wu" loudly as if to ensure everyone knew he had an elder from the Hidden Sect backing him.
"You mean that girl?" Wu Shiding asked in slight astonishment before breaking into a smile. It seemed that wherever one went, unique girls were like shining pearls—radiant and sought after by all.
"Uncle Wu, that's her!" Chen Ran confirmed while secretly observing Mu Deng's expression. Mu Deng merely smiled and seemed unconcerned, but Chen Ran still regarded him as his primary rival.
"This girl seems quite impressive. Come on, let’s go take a look," Wu Shiding said with a smile.
A group of them approached Jiang Chen but paid no attention to him; all eyes were focused on Lin Yin.
"This is Elder Wu from Shen Xue Men; shouldn't you show some respect?" Chen Jie Li admonished when he saw Jiang Chen and Lin Yin's indifferent demeanor without any sign of reverence.
"You expect my master to bow to him? Ha! He’s not even worthy," Lin Yin replied coolly.
"How dare you! You may disregard me, but to be so disrespectful in front of Elder Wu is unacceptable!" Chen Jie Li fumed, his anger evident as he glared at Lin Yin. She was truly unyielding and fearless.
Wu Shiding had initially been amiable, but upon witnessing Lin Yin's attitude, his expression darkened slightly with displeasure. An elder from the Hidden Sect was akin to a god in the mundane world; even the richest in Hua Xia would treat them with respect. Yet here was Lin Yin, a mere girl speaking so boldly as if she held no regard for him at all—Wu Shiding's irritation was understandable.
"Young lady, who is your master?" Wu Shiding asked curiously. He assumed that Lin Yin's audacity stemmed from the support of her master.
