Lin Yin focused her gaze, this time not evading. A flash of azure light appeared in her hand as she gathered her Spiritual Energy, enveloping her hand in a thin layer of it. Then, she reached out to grasp the incoming Inner Strength Silk Thread.
"This is bad," Mu Deng exclaimed in shock. He had only intended to teach Lin Yin a lesson, not to turn the beautiful woman into a cripple. Seeing Lin Yin stand firm and confront his Inner Strength Silk Thread head-on was akin to a mantis trying to stop a chariot—foolhardy and self-destructive.
A beautiful woman missing a hand would no longer be beautiful.
Not only Mu Deng, but the spectators were also wide-eyed in disbelief, mouths agape as they watched intently.
"Mr. Jiang, will Miss Lin be alright?" Liu Chaowu asked, startled. As a Master of Transformation, he understood the power of the Inner Strength Threads.
Jiang Chen remained silent, calmly observing the scene.
Amidst the incredulous gazes of everyone, Lin Yin's hand grasped the Inner Strength Silk Thread. To everyone's astonishment, her hand was not severed; instead, the Inner Strength Silk Thread dissipated into mist and vanished in her grip.
Silence fell like a heavy shroud over the air. Those Martial Artists who had just been lecturing the younger generation about how formidable the Inner Strength Silk Thread was now wore expressions of embarrassment.
The younger ones chuckled, "I told you that thread lacks lethality; after all, it's just vapor. How could it possibly break stone?"
"It must have been a mistake; even a Master of Transformation can make errors. But this Inner Energy is certainly no joke," the elders said solemnly. They had not considered that Lin Yin might be exceptionally skilled; they merely viewed this moment as Mu Deng's blunder.
Wu Shiding's expression changed as he felt astonished; his eyes sparkled with renewed interest in Lin Yin.
Mu Deng snapped back to reality from his shock, staring at Lin Yin in disbelief. He found himself engulfed in deep self-doubt—had his skills not reached their peak? The earlier Inner Strength Threads had proven utterly ineffective.
"I caught your move; now it's your turn to take mine," Lin Yin's voice pulled Mu Deng back to the present.
"Bring it on," Mu Deng replied without fear.
Lin Yin quietly activated her breathing technique, drawing upon the thin Spiritual Energy around her. She channeled this energy through her meridians and concentrated it at her right fingertip before forming a perfect attack posture. A faint azure stream of energy surged toward Mu Deng.
This was one of the simplest attack methods employed by practitioners using Spiritual Energy—projecting it outward. Since she began her training, Lin Yin had frequently practiced this technique, having shattered countless vases at home with her Spiritual Energy. Its power should not be underestimated; a single strike could rival that of a bullet.
The stream moved with incredible speed, too fast for those with poor eyesight to discern. Mu Deng initially thought that Lin Yin meant to engage him in close combat when she spoke of taking her move but was taken aback to see that she could also project Inner Energy outward. As the force rushed toward him, he dared not underestimate it and certainly did not want to catch it bare-handed.
Noticing the marble floor beneath him shattered into many fragments, he lightly stomped his foot, sending three palm-sized shards flying into the air before kicking them toward Lin Yin's Inner Energy stream.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three dull thuds echoed as the stones were pulverized upon impact. However, due to the three shards acting as barriers, the force lost its momentum and was intercepted by Mu Deng's Inner Energy just as it reached him. Even so, he still stumbled back several steps.
