The blue sky blazed under the scorching sun, as two powerful figures collided like two stars crashing into one another. A deafening sound erupted, and the massive shockwave generated by their clash swept across the ground, flattening everything within a hundred meters. Those with weaker abilities were tossed aside like paper, helpless against the force.
Zhao Fangqiu, still not having reached Transcendence, struggled to maintain his grip on a large tree to steady himself amidst the chaos. However, Zhao Tingting was not so fortunate; she was hurled over a hundred meters and landed right in front of Jiang Chen.
The shockwave came swiftly and dissipated just as quickly. Zhao Tingting thought she might have met her end, but upon opening her eyes and assessing herself, she found herself completely unharmed. She quickly stood up and surveyed the surrounding turmoil, where only a few strong individuals remained standing firm. Not far from her, Jiang Chen was watching her intently.
Zhao Tingting was somewhat surprised that Jiang Chen had remained unscathed. It didn’t take long for her to realize that it must have been the members of Shen Xue Men who had shielded him from the shockwave, allowing him to emerge unscathed.
Zhao Fangqiu, having seen his granddaughter thrown by the shockwave, was initially terrified. Once the wave passed, he rushed over to check on her and was taken aback to find her completely fine. It struck him as odd; the force of that shockwave had been immense, yet his granddaughter had suffered no harm at all. What incredible luck she had!
Ma Jie and Fang Xian also hurried over and upon seeing Zhao Tingting safe, they remarked on her good fortune. Zhao Tingting herself agreed that she was indeed lucky.
“Hey, Xiao Jiang, how come you’re unharmed too? Did the shockwave not affect you?” Zhao Fangqiu asked in surprise as he noticed Jiang Chen standing calmly nearby.
Jiang Chen smiled but did not answer; instead, he turned his gaze back to the sky not far away.
Jin Weichu and Li Fushi hovered in mid-air, both appearing relatively unscathed. However, just a few seconds later, Li Fushi suddenly coughed up blood and plummeted to the ground.
“Elder!” The members of Shen Xue Men rushed over at once.
“Give him this pill,” Jiang Chen instructed as he produced a medicinal pill and handed it to the Lu siblings.
The Lu siblings nodded and quickly made their way to Li Fushi’s side. He was gravely injured, his face pale as paper; he had underestimated Jin Weichu's strength significantly.
“I fear I won’t make it,” Li Fushi said with difficulty as his fellow disciples approached.
“Li Fushi, if you die at my hands, you can at least say you died well,” Jin Weichu proclaimed arrogantly from above. Though he too had sustained internal injuries from their earlier clash, he suppressed his pain and maintained an air of nonchalance to display his might.
“Ha,” Li Fushi managed a bitter smile, finding himself at a loss for words. Defeated in skill, there was little left to say; he accepted this reality with an open heart.
“Who says our elder is going to die? Elder Jin, you really overestimate yourself,” Lu Lengxue retorted sharply as she approached with her brother by her side. Her pretty face bore a cold smirk aimed directly at Jin Weichu.
“Girl, even if Hua Tuo were alive today, he wouldn’t be able to save your elder. In less than an incense stick's time, he is undoubtedly doomed. The fact that he managed to withstand my attack without exploding immediately is already impressive enough,” Jin Weichu sneered arrogantly.
“Whether he lives or dies is not for you to decide,” Lu Lengxue shot back defiantly before kneeling beside Li Fushi and producing a medicinal pill.
“Elder, this is from Mr. Jiang,” Lu Lengxue said softly.
