After receiving permission, Qin Xiaoya greeted her parents and left the hospital.
"Sasha, are you still with Mr. Jiang? Oh, you're playing in the Forbidden City? I'll come pick you up. Mr. Jiang's medicine is very effective; I need to thank him properly," Qin Xiaoya said as she called Qin Xusha.
Upon learning that the three of them were at the Forbidden City, Qin Xiaoya instructed the driver to take her there. When they arrived, Jiang Chen, Jiang Lu, and Qin Xusha were already at the exit of the Forbidden City.
Qin Xiaoya invited them into the car, placing Jiang Chen in the front passenger seat while the three ladies settled in the back. Throughout the journey, Qin Xiaoya was clever enough to engage Jiang Lu in conversation since she knew Jiang Chen was quiet and reserved.
Before long, Jiang Lu affectionately called her "Sister Ya," which made Qin Xiaoya beam with joy. Building a good relationship with Jiang Chen's sister was certainly a stroke of luck for her. She planned to visit Peking University whenever she had time to hang out with Jiang Lu and Qin Xusha.
Jiang Chen sat in the car, fully aware of Qin Xiaoya's intentions but chose not to dwell on it.
After more than half an hour, they drove into a private club designed specifically for Beijing's elite; even wealthy individuals could not gain entry without an invitation. Inside the club, the environment was serene, decorated in an ancient style, with the gentle sound of flowing water and elegant music filling the air.
Soon, exquisite dishes were served—delicacies that most ordinary people could never afford. The meal lasted over an hour. Although Qin Xiaoya had things she wanted to say to Jiang Chen, it clearly wasn't the right moment.
After finishing their meal, Qin Xiaoya informed Jiang Chen that she had arranged a hotel for him—one of the best in Beijing—with a nightly rate of one hundred thousand yuan. Jiang Chen asked if Jiang Lu and Qin Xusha would like to stay as well, but both insisted on returning to school, so he didn't press the issue.
Qin Xiaoya thought this was for the best and arranged for the driver to take Jiang Lu and Qin Xusha back to school, mentioning that she might invite them out again tomorrow.
As night fell and the moonlight bathed everything in a soft glow, after seeing off Jiang Lu and the others, Qin Xiaoya turned to Jiang Chen and said, "Mr. Jiang, I'm getting engaged in a few days."
"Oh, that's great! Congratulations," Jiang Chen replied with a slight smile.
"But he is not someone I like," Qin Xiaoya said, gazing at Jiang Chen with complex emotions.
"If you don't like him, then just don't marry him; it's that simple," Jiang Chen replied casually. He was used to living freely and didn't care much for worldly rules or conventions.
"Mr. Jiang, if it were that simple... The other party comes from a prominent background; he is a descendant of the Martial Arts Family—the Yan Family. Although he was born into this family, he is nothing but a good-for-nothing playboy. If he were even one-tenth as capable as you are, I would willingly marry him; unfortunately, he is not," Qin Xiaoya said with a complicated expression and a hint of melancholy.
"In my eyes, everything in this world is simple; there’s nothing I can't do—only things I don't want to do. Your situation is no different; however, to be honest between us, we aren't even friends; I have no obligation to help you," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile.
Mentioning the Yan Family sparked some memories for Jiang Chen. Last year at the Songnan Martial Arts Tournament, Ancestor Yan Lianwei from the Yan Family had attended. Knowing about Jiang Chen's abilities made it clear that helping him would be quite easy if he chose to do so.
Qin Xiaoya looked at Jiang Chen in shock, sadness spreading in her eyes. "Mr. Jiang, what do we need to do to be considered friends?" Qin Xiaoya asked.
