"Ah!" Yao Yuxin suddenly clutched her chest and collapsed to the ground, convulsing in pain.
The banquet hall was thrown into chaos as she was rushed to the hospital.
"Chronic poisoning," the doctor said. "Severe toxins have accumulated in her body."
I stood outside the hospital room, watching Yao Yuxin lying on the bed. Once my close friend, she now looked as pale as a ghost.
"Are you scared?" Huo Han approached me.

Suddenly, I understood. "So Yao Yuxin…"
"She knows too much," Huo Han said. "Xiao Yuanshan is cleaning up loose ends."
At that moment, sister Hong hurried over in her high heels. "How is Yuxin?"
Seeing her flustered expression, I smirked. " sister Hong, are you scared too?"

sister Hong ’s face turned pale. "You… what nonsense are you talking about!"

The recording played Yao Yuxin's voice: " sister Hong, I've already had Uncle Lin sign the contract… Yes, just as you said, I added a few zeros…"
sister Hong slumped into a chair. "You… you all knew already…"
"Not just knowing." Huo Han pulled out a document. "This is all the evidence of your crimes with Xiao Yuanshan. If the police see this..."
"No!" sister Hong screamed, "You can't do this!"
At that moment, an urgent alarm sounded from the hospital room.
Yao Yuxin's heartbeat stopped; she was declared dead despite resuscitation efforts.
sister Hong collapsed to the ground, her eyes vacant. "It's over... it's all over..."
"Speak," I crouched down. "Either wait to die like Yao Yuxin, or confess everything now."
She broke down. "I’ll tell you everything... Years ago, it was Xiao Yuanshan who wanted to acquire the Lin family's land, and Yao Yuxin and I were responsible for setting up the trap..."

" sister Hong, come back with me," he extended his hand toward her.

The atmosphere instantly became tense and charged.
" manager Xiao," Huo Han said softly, " sister Hong will stay in the hospital tonight. We'll discuss everything tomorrow."
"Is Master Huo trying to protect her?"
"I just think some matters shouldn't be rushed."
The two exchanged glances, and the air seemed to freeze.
Finally, Xiao Yuanshan took a step back. "Alright then, see you tomorrow."
He turned to leave but suddenly looked back. "By the way, Master Huo, I will report your situation with Miss Lin to the higher-ups."
It was a blatant threat.
After Xiao Yuanshan left, sister Hong collapsed onto the floor. "It's over... he will definitely kill me..."
"Don't worry," Huo Han reassured her. "My people will protect you tonight."
On the way back, I asked Huo Han, "What did he mean by reporting to the higher-ups?"
He was silent for a moment. "Mu Xue, do you trust me?"
"Hmm?"
"No matter what happens, you must believe in me."
