On one side of the icy water, there bloomed a Fire Red Lotus, its entire body ablaze with a fiery red hue, resembling flames. The two-colored pool water reflected the ice and fire lotus flowers, creating a scene akin to a Yin Yang Taiji Diagram. Mo Wen recognized that this lotus was indeed the legendary Yin Yang Dual Lotus. The Shuang Sheng Lian sprouts for a hundred years, unfurls its leaves for another hundred years, blooms for yet another hundred years, and finally bears seeds after another century, with the Lian Zi ripening after a hundred years as well. Although the Shuang Sheng Lian appears to be two separate plants, it is actually one single entity, with a single Lotus Root dividing into the Yin and Yang poles—one pole nurturing the Yin lotus and the other nurturing the Yang lotus.
The Shuang Sheng Lian thrives in an extremely harsh environment, requiring a cohabitation of Yin and Yang to grow. Moreover, under different Yin and Yang conditions, the colors of the Shuang Sheng Lian vary. For instance, the one growing in the midst of ice and fire takes on the form of an Ice Lotus and a Fire Lotus. If it were to grow in an environment of black and white cohabitation, it would transform into a Black Lotus and a White Lotus. The Shuang Sheng Lian is considered a rare treasure in the Bai Cao Jing, regarded as nearly impossible to find—not due to its scarcity but rather its elusive nature. Unlike other rare medicinal herbs that exhibit phenomena or attract Demon Beasts upon maturation, it grows quietly like wildflowers in the mountains, blooming and wilting without drawing attention. The usual methods people rely on—such as observing phenomena or using treasure-hunting spirit pets—are completely ineffective against it.
As the Qilin had mentioned, the Shuang Sheng Lian would indeed be greatly beneficial to Mo Wen, who practiced the Yin Yang Principle; its effects were self-evident. Most importantly, it was said that this Shuang Sheng Lian had remarkable effects on Shen Hun cultivation, capable of doubling the user’s Shen Hun. The Shuang Sheng Lian in the jar was currently at its peak maturity, making this the perfect time for harvesting.
Mo Wen took out his tools, first plucking off the Lotus Seed Pod, then removing the Lotus Leaf before digging out the Lotus Root. The root was singular and covered in intricate red and white patterns that looked quite extraordinary. He carefully preserved the harvested Shuang Sheng Lian.
After collecting the Shuang Sheng Lian, he began examining the Stone Jar before him. Circling around it once, he noted that it appeared to be carved from stone without any signs of refinement—just an ordinary Stone Jar at first glance. However, he could not shake off his disbelief that it was merely an ordinary object; after all, it belonged to the Divine Beast Qilin and housed the Yin Yang Dual Lotus within it—how could it possibly be commonplace? With this thought in mind, his imagination ran wild. If he could take this Stone Jar with him, he could plant the Shuang Sheng Lian inside it for future use without needing to search for it again. Even if he had no use for it himself, he could sell it; he referred to this as "sustainable development." The Old Qilin had only mentioned retrieving one item; this item could be either the Shuang Sheng Lian or this jar—or everything contained within it.
Mo Wen reassured his conscience before contemplating how to take away this Stone Jar. "Blood recognition of ownership, Symbol Array sealing, refining with essence blood... What other methods have I not thought of? It seems I've exhausted them all; those methods from Old Lu's books are all I have." He sat down on the ground; despite having tried every method described in his books, the large jar remained unchanged.
"It seems I have no choice," he thought after pondering for quite some time without coming up with any effective solutions. He decided to resort to an "Overlord Lifts the Jar" approach—digging a passageway into the ground beneath so he could lift up the Stone Jar and carry it away. Although walking through the forest while holding a Stone Jar might appear odd, he was determined to do whatever it took to take this Stone Jar with him.
