Mo Wen checked on the girl's condition and, relieved to find that she was not in immediate danger, let out a sigh of relief. He had sustained significant injuries to his Spirit Soul during the recent battle and was now too exhausted to continue fighting. Taking out a Chi Essence, he began to restore his Spirit Soul. He realized he could no longer stay here and needed to find another place to spend the night. 0

Inside the cave, Mo Wen was cooking porridge while roasting meat. Not far away lay the injured girl, or rather, a young woman, around his age. She was truly beautiful, just as described in the stories. When he finally got a good look at her face, he was momentarily stunned; it was his first time observing a woman up close. The last time he had seen Old Lu's junior sister was from a distance of two miles. Comparing her to the girl before him made Old Lu's junior sister seem less remarkable. The girl wore a white dress; although she was only eleven or twelve years old, she had developed well. Her pale complexion after the injury evoked a sense of tenderness in him. However, at that moment, Mo Wen did not understand romantic feelings. Although Old Lu's stories contained some descriptions of such emotions, he had never been shown the treasured versions. 0

After Mo Wen's treatment, the girl was no longer in danger but remained unconscious. This cave had been found by Mo Wen after traveling through the night; there were no powerful Demon Beasts or Chimeras nearby—only some lesser Beasts were roaming about. A few Chimeras had also been dealt with by Mo Wen. He had gained considerable experience in finding safe places; he knew not to spend the night in areas devoid of living creatures or under shadows. He discovered that powerful Demon Beasts and Chimeras were actually quite easy to avoid; unlike humans, they did not conceal their presence well. Their overwhelming aura made them stand out like suns in the night sky; one could sense them from afar without needing to investigate closely. As long as he did not enter their territory or get discovered, they would generally ignore him. In contrast, those Demon Beasts and Chimeras of similar strength would actively attack him, seemingly believing he was there to encroach on their territory. 0

To ensure the girl slept comfortably, Mo Wen gathered hay from outside the cave and selected softer Beast Skins from his haul to lay over it, creating a simple yet relatively comfortable bed for her. He even covered her with a Beast Skin. After wandering through this forest for so long, he had never enjoyed such comfort himself. 0

The girl had been unconscious for a day and night, while Mo Wen himself had also sustained injuries during his battle with the Chimera. Coupled with lingering effects from previously consuming Chi Essence, his head felt heavy and slightly painful. Since taking Shuangsheng Lian Lianzi to resolve issues caused by consuming Chi Essence last time, he no longer worried about restoring his Spirit Soul during battles; each recovery seemed to enhance his Spirit Soul further. This was beneficial for him—even though he had not yet reached the Ning Shen Realm and knew little about it, he learned from Old Lu that having a powerful Spirit Soul was crucial for any Cultivator. For instance, if he hadn’t possessed a strong Spirit Soul that night when saving the girl, he wouldn’t have been able to defeat that Symbolic Realm Chimera. Even so, he still found himself unable to fight again afterward. It seemed that in order to deal with even stronger Chimeras, he needed an even more powerful Spirit Soul. Although Shuangsheng Lianzi was effective for enhancing his Spirit Soul and healing Chi Essence injuries, it wasn’t enough on its own. 0
