"You should just lie down and rest; your injuries haven't healed yet." Looking at the girl's frail appearance, Mo Wen felt a strong urge to help her. Over the years, he had learned the etiquette of receiving guests from Old Lu, especially since he was still a stranger to her, and moreover, she was a girl. It would be inappropriate to act too familiarly. The girl, clearly well-mannered, must have come from a distinguished background, though she seemed quite innocent, believing Mo Wen's few words without question. 0

"I have some porridge and food here; would you like to eat a little?" Mo Wen asked the girl. 0

"Thank you, young master, but it's not necessary. I have my own food," she replied, taking out some provisions from her storage bag and beginning to eat in small bites. Mo Wen glanced at her food, which was evidently carefully prepared. 0

"Then please help yourself; I won't bother you," he said, and started eating himself. The aroma of the porridge and roasted meat wafted through the air, making the girl feel that her own food suddenly lost its flavor. Watching the wild boy enjoy his meal made it look quite appetizing, so she decided to put away her own food. 0

"I think you should eat a bit; I've added quite a few medicinal herbs to this porridge. It will help with your recovery," Mo Wen suggested as he noticed her actions. He realized that since she had put down her sword, she had been staring at his food. According to stories, girls were supposed to be reserved, so he thought it best to encourage her. 0

"Then thank you very much," the girl said slowly as she moved closer to the fire pit. Mo Wen filled a bowl with porridge and handed it to her, also placing a piece of roasted meat on a leaf before offering it to her. After that, he returned to his own meal without paying her any further attention. The girl accepted the porridge and meat, holding the bowl in one hand and the meat in the other but did not eat. 0

"Why aren't you eating? Do you not know how? Or are you worried I poisoned it?" Mo Wen asked when he noticed she hadn't taken a bite. 0

"…" 0

"Well then, just drink the porridge first and then eat the meat," he suggested when he saw that she seemed unsure how to start. After hearing his words, she finally took a small sip of the porridge. Just that tiny taste made her realize that not only did it smell good, but it also tasted even better. Once she took that first sip, she couldn't stop; she was genuinely hungry. Having not eaten for quite some time and being injured left her feeling weak. After finishing one bowl of porridge, her eyes were fixed on the pot. 0

"Here, have another bowl." Without waiting for her to speak, Mo Wen took the bowl from her hands and filled it again. 0

"Thank you very much." 0

"Don't call me 'young master'; it sounds awkward. My name is He Er Gou; I might be a bit older than you, so you can call me Dog Brother," Mo Wen decided to stick with the name Old Lu had given him. Though it sounded unappealing, there was no other choice; mainly, hearing her call him "young master" made him feel even more uncomfortable. 0

"My name is Zi Lan; you can call me Lan'er." 0

" Lan'er …" Mo Wen repeated the name. It struck him with an odd sense of familiarity that momentarily distracted him. However, he quickly shook off those thoughts; he couldn't let himself be swayed just because the girl was beautiful. "That's a lovely name." 0

"Dog Brother, why are you here all alone?" The girl didn't notice Mo Wen's momentary distraction. 0

As he looked at her more closely, Mo Wen felt an increasing sense of familiarity with this girl. He was certain that this feeling wasn't merely due to youthful impulses but stemmed from something deep within his soul. 0
