"Second Uncle! Lan'er has worried you." Seeing her Second Uncle, Zi Lan stepped forward and bowed respectfully.
"Good child, I'm just glad to see you're safe. It's been just a year, but my Lan'er has become even more beautiful," the middle-aged man said, looking at Zi Lan with affection as he ruffled her hair.
"Cousin, where have you been all this time? You have no idea how worried your brother has been; he couldn't even focus on his training," a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy approached the middle-aged man, and others in the group gathered around, encircling Zi Lan. This boy, dressed in white and quite handsome, showed concern for Zi Lan, but his face betrayed no signs of the worry he claimed to feel.
"Hmph!" Zi Lan snorted coldly, turning to greet the elders of her clan one by one before exchanging pleasantries with a group of young men and women.
"Lan'er, who is this person?" The boy in white asked, noticing that Zi Lan was ignoring him and pointing at Mo Wen. At that moment, Mo Wen had already stepped aside, not out of caution but because he felt it was polite to give them space to talk. Upon hearing the boy's question, the group quieted down and turned their attention to Mo Wen, who looked like a wild man from the mountains in his strange attire.
"Yes, Lan'er, you haven't introduced your friend to Second Uncle yet," Zi Lan's Second Uncle also looked toward Mo Wen.
"Junior He Er Gou, greetings to all esteemed elders," Mo Wen said without waiting for Zi Lan to introduce him and bowed respectfully to the elders of the Zi Family.
"So it's Brother He. You are polite," Uncle Zi replied with a nod. The oth Elder Er s of the Zi Family also returned the greeting but remained silent; clearly, they were following their Second Uncle's lead. At this point, Zi Lan had run over to Mo Wen and wrapped her arm around his as she communicated telepathically with her Second Uncle.
Seeing Zi Lan cling to Mo Wen's arm, the boy in white turned pale; after all, she was his cousin and was destined to marry him. Meanwhile, Zi Lan leaned closer to Mo Wen's ear and began introducing her relatives. "That is my Second Uncle; he is the most caring among my uncles. And that annoying guy in white is called Gong Junyan; he's a distant cousin of mine and quite unpleasant. But with my Second Uncle around, he doesn't dare act up." She made a disgusted expression when mentioning her cousin.
"I am Gong Junyan. Thank you, Er Gou Brother, for taking care of Lan'er on this journey," Gong Junyan stepped forward and casually cupped his hands in greeting before Zi Lan's Second Uncle could speak.
"So it's Brother Gong. I have a good rapport with Zi Lan; we looked out for each other on our journey—it's not really about who took care of whom," Mo Wen replied as he understood why Zi Lan didn't like him.
"Oh? I wonder how Er Gou Xiong and Lan'er looked out for each other?"
"Well, we slept together, ate together, and fought monsters together. If Brother Gong is interested, I would be happy to elaborate further," Mo Wen said casually. At this point, Zi Lan's face flushed bright red.
"You..." Gong Junyan's expression shifted from pale green to dark as he processed Mo Wen's words. Meanwhile, the elders of the Zi Family had already learned about the situation from Zi Lan's Second Uncle and showed no reaction. However, the younger generation erupted into whispers upon hearing Mo Wen’s words and seeing Zi Lan’s shy demeanor, each wearing an expression of understanding.
