On a hillside, the Zi Family was camping. At the entrance of their camp stood the tent of the Second Master of the Zi Family, Zi Tianyang. Inside the tent, several Elders were gathered, looking at the troubled expression on the Second Master's face. Ever since he returned, he had been like this, calling them together without saying anything.
"Second Master, what do you want to tell us by gathering us all here? Please say something," finally blurted out a bearded man who could no longer contain himself. He was straightforward and could not tolerate such an atmosphere.
"What do you think?" the Second Master asked.
"What do you mean by 'what do we think'? Of course, we should find another place for these kids to continue their training. We can't just take them home because of what happened in the Cloud Mist Swamp," the group was left bewildered by the Second Master's question.
"I meant that kid. You were all present; what do you think?"
"Are you saying you've noticed something? It's just a kid, isn't it? I don't see anything special about him," the Elders began to argue among themselves.
"I haven't noticed anything, which is why I'm asking you," he replied.
After another round of discussion among them, Zi Tianyang still did not obtain the information he sought and began to frown in contemplation. Seeing this, everyone realized they had not said what the Second Master wanted to hear.
"In my opinion, we should call Zi Lan over and ask her. She has spent a lot of time with that kid, and ever since she returned, she has been distracted. You are her Second Uncle; you should care for her," one Elder suggested.
Before long, Zi Lan was summoned. "Lan'er, come here to your Second Uncle. I have something to ask you. Hmm! Where did you get that dagger? Let me see it," the Second Master said as he noticed the dagger in Zi Lan's hand, his eyes lighting up.
"I won't give it to you! This is from Dog Brother; I won't give it to anyone," she immediately turned around and held the dagger close to her chest as if afraid someone would snatch it away.
"Your Second Uncle just wants to take a look; I'll return it right after. I swear I won't keep it."
"Fine, but you can only look at it. You have to give it back afterward; otherwise, Lan'er won't talk to you anymore."
"Unseen and unheard... To forge such a dagger using refining techniques I've never seen before! By the way, Lan'er, did your Dog Brother mention who gave it to him?" Looking at the dagger in his hand, he realized he had never encountered such a method of crafting before. Although the techniques were traditional, the approach was entirely different.
"Dog Brother forged it himself! I watched him do it with my own eyes. I've seen him forge other things too; all those strange tools he used were made by him. His unreliable master just left him alone in the forest without leaving him anything—what a bad master!" When talking about Mo Wen's forging skills, Zi Lan's face beamed with pride, but when mentioning Mo Wen's master, her expression turned angry.
"Second Uncle, do you have anything else to ask? If not, I'm leaving now." With that, she snatched back her dagger and ran out.
"Well... sigh..." Zi Tianyang felt helpless.
"Did any of you glean anything from that?"
"I didn't catch anything significant. Second Master, you're well-versed in many things; please don't keep us in suspense. If you've discovered something, just say it."
"Have any of you ever seen a Refiner capable of forging at the Qi Binding Realm?"
"Hiss! Not only have we never seen one; we've never even heard of such a thing... Are you referring to that He Er Gou...?"
