After finishing their morning routines, Ao Bing changed into a light blue shirt and pale jeans, looking neat and tidy. Nezha, on the other hand, wore a red T-shirt and black sweatpants, exuding energy and vitality.
"Alright, can we talk now? Where are we going?" Ao Bing asked, curiosity evident in his tone.
Nezha smiled mysteriously. "Haven't you always wanted to visit the museum for the 'Dragon Clan Relics Exhibition'? I secretly bought two tickets yesterday!"
Ao Bing's eyes lit up instantly. "Really? Those tickets are hard to come by; how did you...?"
"I have my ways," Nezha replied, raising an eyebrow with pride. "Don't underestimate me, 'Ice Block Face.'"
For once, Ao Bing didn't retort to that nickname; he simply nodded gently, his eyes sparkling with barely contained joy. "Thank you, Nezha."
Nezha rubbed his nose awkwardly. "It's nothing; it's part of the Agreement that we do something together every week."
The two gathered their things and walked out of the dormitory. The sun was shining brightly, and a gentle breeze brushed against them—perfect weather for going out.
As they strolled along the campus path, Ao Bing suddenly asked, "How did you know I wanted to see that exhibition?"
Nezha scratched his head. "Last week when you were tidying up your desk, I saw your list of 'exhibitions I want to see' on a sticky note." He chuckled. "It was right next to your Dragon Clan Ancient Texts."
Ao Bing paused for a moment, surprised that Nezha had noticed such a detail. A feeling of being seen and understood washed over him, causing his heart to race just a bit faster.
"You’re quite observant," Ao Bing said softly, a hint of admiration in his gaze.
"Of course!" Nezha puffed out his chest, looking quite proud. "Don't be fooled by my usual carefree demeanor; I still pay attention to the important things!"
Ao Bing smiled slightly, choosing not to say anything more, but he felt a warmth in his heart from this small revelation.
They took the bus to the museum in the city center. The exhibition had just begun, and there was already a line of people waiting to enter. Nezha pulled out the tickets he had purchased in advance and led Ao Bing directly into the exhibition hall.
The "Dragon Clan Relics Exhibition" primarily showcased artifacts and legends related to dragons from various dynasties. The lighting in the hall was soft, and display cases featured exquisite Dragon Shape items: dragon patterns swirling on bronze vessels, flying dragon designs on porcelain, and various paintings and documents depicting dragons.
Ao Bing observed everything with great seriousness, pausing for a long time in front of each exhibit to carefully read the descriptions on the placards. Although Nezha wasn't particularly interested in these artifacts, he found himself unknowingly drawn into the atmosphere as he watched Ao Bing's focused profile, beginning to appreciate the exhibits more earnestly.
"Look at this," Ao Bing said, pointing to a bronze artifact and lowering his voice as he spoke to Nezha. "The dragon pattern here is very similar to one in that ancient book I have; it might be from the same period."
Nezha leaned in for a closer look. "It does look somewhat similar. But I really don't know much about these things; you're the expert, so if you say it looks alike, then it does."
Ao Bing chuckled softly. "I'm not an expert; I'm just interested in the history of the Dragon Tribe."
"Is it because of your own background?" Nezha asked quietly, ensuring no one around could hear.
Ao Bing nodded, a complex expression flashing in his eyes. "To understand the past is to better face the future."
Nezha didn't press further but gently patted Ao Bing's shoulder to show his understanding. This simple gesture sent a shiver through Ao Bing's heart, a strange feeling spreading in his chest. He subtly adjusted his breathing and continued walking forward.
