Outside, Lady Yin, who had been anxiously eavesdropping, finally let out a sigh of relief and quietly wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes. Her husband and son, two equally stubborn men, had finally found a way to understand each other.
During dinner, the atmosphere was much more harmonious than in the morning. The three of them chatted and laughed, discussing various topics as if the morning's argument had never happened.
"By the way, Nezha," Lady Yin suddenly recalled something, "the classmate you mentioned earlier, Ao Bing, what does his family do? From your description, it seems like they are quite a big family?"
Nezha's chopsticks paused mid-air, unsure of how to respond. He couldn't exactly say that Ao Bing was the Dragon Prince and that his father was the East Sea Dragon King, could he?
"Uh, his family... is involved in marine resource development," Nezha replied vaguely. "It seems to be a pretty large enterprise called East Sea Group."
"East Sea Group?" Li Jing looked up in surprise. "Is that the same East Sea Group where I arranged for you to work?"
It dawned on Nezha that the Uncle Huang his father had mentioned earlier worked at East Sea Group. This coincidence made him wonder if his father had known about Ao Bing's identity all along and had specifically arranged for him to work there.
"You... know people from East Sea Group?" Nezha asked cautiously.
"Not really, just heard of them," Li Jing explained. "It's a very mysterious company; although it's huge and has operations worldwide, very few people know who their actual owner is. Your classmate, Ao Bing, is he the son of the owner of East Sea Group?"
Nezha nodded but said no more. He wasn't sure how much his father knew about the Dragon Tribe, nor did he want to risk revealing too much about Ao Bing's true identity.
"No wonder that kid feels different," Li Jing mused. "The heir to a family business has quite a burden on his shoulders."
"Yeah," Nezha softly agreed, feeling a renewed wave of longing and worry for Ao Bing. Was he doing well in the Dragon Palace? Were things going smoothly for the Dragon Tribe? Would he come back? These questions tangled in his mind like vines, impossible to shake off.
After dinner, Nezha returned to his room, sitting alone by the window, gazing at the starry sky. He gently caressed the Crystal Pendant hanging on his chest, as if that would allow him to feel Ao Bing's presence.
"Ao Bing, can you hear me?" Nezha asked softly, knowing he wouldn't receive a response. "I've reconciled with my father; he agrees that I can pursue my dreams now. I owe all of this to your advice and encouragement."
The crystal remained calm and still, showing no signs of disturbance. Nezha sighed and continued to speak to himself, "I've begun to realize what I truly want—I want to be a Football Coach, to share the joy of this sport with more people. You once said that life is short and we should do what we truly love. I understand what you meant now."
He paused for a moment, his voice growing softer. "I hope you can find what you truly desire in the Dragon Palace as well. Even if it means you can't come back, I hope you can be happy."
As he spoke these words, a wave of strong emotion surged within Nezha, and tears welled up in his eyes. He suddenly realized that everything—the courage to pursue his dreams, the determination to face his father, and the plans for his future—was all because of Ao Bing. Ao Bing's departure had not only brought him pain but also allowed him to grow and gain a clearer understanding of his own heart.
"I will wait for you, Ao Bing," Nezha said softly. "No matter how long it takes, I will wait for you. At the same time, I will strive to become a better version of myself, so as not to disappoint your expectations."
