Nezha furrowed his brow. "The Sea Stabilizing Needle? What is that?"
"It's an ancient artifact that stabilizes oceanic energies. Without it, the energy of the East Sea will become chaotic, potentially triggering a series of disasters like tsunamis and storms. Worse yet, if someone knows how to use it, they could control the powers of the Dragon Tribe—including mine," Ao Bing explained.
Nezha's heart sank at Ao Bing's words. "So you must retrieve it?"
Ao Bing nodded, determination shining in his eyes. "Yes, this not only concerns the fate of the Dragon Tribe but also the safety of the Human World. The problem is, we don't know who the enemy is or where the Sea Stabilizing Needle has been taken."
"Do you have any leads?" Nezha pressed.
After a moment of contemplation, Ao Bing replied, "The invaders are using an ancient spell closely tied to the Dragon Tribe. According to the records in the Dragon Palace's history books, there was an organization known as the Li Yang Sect that once mastered this spell, but they vanished from history over a thousand years ago."
"Li Yang Sect?" Nezha pondered. "Wait, Shen Gongbao mentioned that name! He talked about it in Ancient Mythology Class, saying that Li Yang Sect was an organization opposed to the Dragon Tribe's rule and worshipped solar power, which naturally conflicts with the water attributes of the Dragon Tribe."
A flicker of surprise crossed Ao Bing's eyes. "Shen Gongbao knows about Li Yang Sect? That might not be a coincidence. He is a serpent demon and shares origins with the Dragon Tribe; he could be involved in this attack."
Nezha recalled Shen Gongbao's recent unusual behavior—from exposing his identity to sending mysterious messages—it all seemed to point toward a larger conspiracy.
"I need to return to the Dragon Palace immediately to investigate this lead," Ao Bing said urgently as he stood up. "My father is still injured, and with no one leading in the Dragon Palace, various factions are starting to vie for power. If we don't retrieve the Sea Stabilizing Needle soon, not only will the Dragon Tribe fall into internal strife, but the Human World will also be affected."
Nezha stood up as well and grasped Ao Bing's hand. "I'll go with you!"
Ao Bing shook his head gently and withdrew his hand. "No, Nezha. The Dragon Palace is on high alert; no one outside the Dragon Tribe can enter. Besides, you just came out of the Observation Room and need regular monitoring. Leaving recklessly would only complicate your situation further."
"But I'm worried about you," Nezha said anxiously. "The Dragon Palace is so dangerous; what if the enemy attacks again..."
"I will protect myself," Ao Bing reassured him with a calming smile. "Don't forget, I am the prince of the Dragon Tribe and have enough capability to handle danger. Moreover, I have a heavy responsibility now; I must ensure the safety of both the Dragon Tribe and humanity."
Nezha knew Ao Bing was right, but his heart was still filled with reluctance and concern. Just then, Ao Bing took out a delicate blue box from his robe.
"This is for you," Ao Bing said as he handed the box to Nezha. "It's a talisman made from Dragon Scale. It can protect you from harm to some extent and also strengthen our mental connection. As long as you wear it, I will be able to sense your presence no matter how far apart we are."
Nezha accepted the box and carefully opened it to find a shimmering blue Dragon Scale woven into a pendant with silver threads. He immediately put it around his neck and felt a warm energy flow through him.
"Thank you," Nezha said tightly gripping the pendant. "I want to give you something too..."
After thinking for a moment, he took out a small red cloth bag from his pocket. "This is a talisman my father gave me when I was young; it's said to ward off evil and disasters. Although it's not as precious as your Dragon Scale, it has accompanied me for many years, and I hope it can keep you safe."
Ao Bing accepted the bag, touched by its significance. "This is more precious than any treasure because it carries your heartfelt intention. I will keep it with me always."
