Aunt Taiyi pondered for a moment. "The most important thing right now is to find out the whereabouts of the Sea Stabilizing Needle. You mentioned that Shen Gongbao knows about the Li Yang Sect; perhaps he holds clues we are unaware of. But be cautious, Shen Gongbao is hard to read. If he is indeed connected to the Li Yang Sect, approaching him could be dangerous."
Nezha nodded. "I will be careful. Shen Gongbao has class today; I’ll attend as an auditor and test him."
"Remember, do not alarm the snake in the grass," Aunt Taiyi advised. "Just gather information; do not act rashly."
The Ancient Mythology Class began at two in the afternoon. Nezha arrived at the classroom half an hour early and chose a seat towards the back. As time passed, the classroom gradually filled with students, but Shen Gongbao still had not appeared by the time the bell rang.
Ten minutes later, a Teacher from the Academic Affairs Office entered the classroom and announced, "Professor Shen Gongbao is on leave due to health reasons; today’s class is canceled."
This news raised Nezha's suspicions. Shen Gongbao suddenly taking leave at such a sensitive time seemed too coincidental. He decided to check Shen Gongbao's office; perhaps he could find some clues.
Shen Gongbao's office was located on the third floor of the History Department building, a well-furnished small room. Nezha gently knocked on the door but received no response. After confirming that no one was around, he tried to push the door—surprisingly, it was unlocked.
The office was neat and orderly, with shelves filled with ancient texts and several traditional landscape paintings hanging on the walls. Nezha carefully sifted through the documents on the desk, hoping to find clues regarding the Li Yang Sect or the Sea Stabilizing Needle.
At that moment, he noticed a particularly old book on one of the shelves, its cover adorned with images of a sun and a dragon. Nezha took it down and opened it; on the title page were three large characters: "Li Yang Jing."
"Found it!" Nezha felt a surge of excitement as he quickly flipped through its contents. The book detailed the history of the Li Yang Sect, their cultivation methods, and spells used against the Dragon Tribe. In the last few pages, Nezha discovered information about the Sea Stabilizing Needle:
"The Sea Stabilizing Needle, a treasure of the Dragon Tribe, is key to controlling oceanic energy. The Li Yang Sect aims to overthrow Dragon Tribe rule by first seizing this artifact. Whoever possesses this needle can control life and death within the Dragon Tribe, summon tsunamis and storms, bringing calamity upon humanity..."
Nezha continued reading when suddenly he heard footsteps outside the door. He quickly closed the book, returned it to its place, and hid under the desk.
The door opened, but instead of Shen Gongbao, two strangers entered—a man and a woman dressed in black with stern expressions.
"Professor Shen isn't here," the man said as he scanned the room. "Are you sure he left the Li Yang Jing here?"
The woman nodded. "According to his message, it should be on the shelf. If we find it, we will know what final materials are needed for the ritual."
They began rummaging through the shelves while Nezha held his breath and remained completely still. He realized that these two were likely members of the Li Yang Sect and that Shen Gongbao had connections with them!
"Found it!" The woman pulled out Li Yang Jing and quickly flipped to the last few pages. "Indeed, three items are needed for the ritual: Sea Stabilizing Needle, Dragon Tribe bloodline, Demon Sphere Power. We already have the first two; we just need that last one..."
The man sneered. "That kid named Nezha is none other than Magic Orb Reincarnation? Professor Shen said he’s already prepared; we just need to act."
Nezha's heart sank; they planned to use his power to complete some kind of ritual! No wonder Shen Gongbao wanted to expose his identity—everything was part of a conspiracy.
"Let's go," said the woman as she put away the book. "As planned, on the night of the full moon in three days, we will conduct the ritual on East Coast. Someone will bring that kid there."
