"Love can easily blind one's eyes," Shen Gongbao said earnestly, "I understand your feelings, but now you must face reality. Taiyi Zhenren and the Dragon Tribe are both limiting your growth in their own ways. Only I can truly help you unleash your potential and take control of your destiny."
Nezha stood up and walked to the window, looking out at the campus. The sun was shining brightly, and students were coming and going, creating a scene of peace. Who should he trust? Aunt Taiyi and Ao Bing, or Shen Gongbao?
"What is your purpose in saying this?" Nezha asked, staring directly into Shen Gongbao's eyes. "Why do you want to help me?"
Shen Gongbao did not answer immediately. Instead, he walked to the desk and picked up a blue paper crane, playing with it. "I was once a victim of fate too, labeled as a 'monster' and destined to be hunted by everyone. But I chose to resist and redefine myself. I see the same potential in you, Nezha. You should not be bound by worldly prejudices; you should become the master of your own fate."
These words touched the deep-seated desires within Nezha. Throughout his life, he had been trying to adapt to a world that viewed him as an outcast, striving to fit in and be accepted. But if what Shen Gongbao said was true, perhaps he no longer needed to hide or submit; instead, he could earn respect through his own strength and even change the world.
"If I choose to accept your help," Nezha asked cautiously, "what is the first step?"
Shen Gongbao smiled slightly and took out a red pill from his pocket. "First, you need to take this Fire Spirit Pill. It will help you open up the energy pathways within your body, allowing the Demon Sphere Power to flow more smoothly."
Nezha took the pill and examined it in his hand. The pill emitted a faint warmth and a unique fragrance, with a red glow subtly visible inside.
"Tonight's full moon is the best time to take it," Shen Gongbao added. "After taking it, I will guide you through a special meditation practice to help you connect more deeply with the essence of the Demon Orb."
Nezha put away the pill but did not immediately agree. "I need to think about it."
"Of course," Shen Gongbao nodded in understanding. "This is a significant decision regarding your fate; it should not be made hastily. But remember, opportunities are fleeting. Taiyi Zhenren will soon discover that I came to see you, and she will take action to stop everything."
With that, Shen Gongbao walked toward the door and reminded him one last time before leaving: "At ten o'clock tonight, wait for me under the Old Willow Tree on the back mountain. I hope to see a Li Nezha ready to take control of his own destiny."
After Shen Gongbao left, Nezha sat on the edge of his bed, his thoughts swirling. Shen Gongbao's words were like seeds taking root in his heart. If the Demon Orb was indeed that powerful, he could change many things—no longer being ostracized by school, having the ability to protect Ao Bing and the Dragon Tribe, even achieving peace between humans and dragons...
But on the other hand, his intuition told him that Shen Gongbao was not entirely honest. Was Aunt Taiyi really an enemy? Was Ao Bing truly limiting him? What was Shen Gongbao's real purpose in helping him?
A series of questions lingered in his mind as Nezha decided to investigate further. He pulled out his phone and sent a message to Ao Bing—since their argument, they hadn't had a proper conversation.
"I have some questions about Shen Gongbao. If possible, I hope we can talk."
After sending the message, Nezha waited for a long time but received no response. He sighed; it seemed that things at Dragon Palace were more complicated than he had imagined, and Ao Bing might not be able to communicate freely.
