Afterward, Fang Zigui prescribed medication for the girl and arranged for the father and daughter to stay at the clinic temporarily for observation. Once everything was settled, he led the three of them back to the inner hall, his demeanor markedly different from before.

After returning to her small room, Xiaoshuang immediately slipped into the darkroom. She had taken several close-up photographs of the patients during the commotion today, especially focusing on the eye details of the critically ill girl, which had been on her mind. She immersed the film in the developing solution, gently shaking it while waiting for the images to slowly appear.

The images on the photographs became clearer, gradually outlining the girl's pained expression, particularly around her eyes. "Look at this!" she exclaimed, pointing at one close-up shot. "This is the liquid that flowed from that girl's eye yesterday; there are strange things inside!"
The three leaned in for a closer look—the thread-like substances in the blue-purple liquid were quite apparent.
"What is this?" Lin Mingchang felt goosebumps rise on his skin.
Shen Tong looked at Xiaoshuang with admiration. "Hmm, what you captured here resembles what I observed in the patient's condition; it looks like some kind of... wriggling... worm."
Fang Zigui also appeared weary; he had been busy most of last night preparing a large number of medicinal packages needed for today and carefully reviewing his treatment notes from recent days. As he poured steaming tea into four coarse ceramic cups, he said, "I have made another discovery: this strange illness began last month, which coincidentally was when Nan Jiao completed its Arai mining operations."
Lin Mingchang raised an eyebrow. "Arai?"

Recently, someone has invested in reopening it and tapped into the underground water source." Fang Zigui pushed the teacup towards everyone. Lin Mingchang reacted quickly and immediately understood Fang Zigui's implication. "Are you saying that all the patients might have drunk from that well's water?"

The water from that well is clear and sweet, and it's free of charge, so many locals have gone to fetch water.
