In the evening, the two exhausted individuals lay on the freshly made bed, savoring their first night in the new home. Outside the window, the city lights twinkled like stars in the sky, weaving a gentle net that enveloped this bustling yet warm city.
"Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin our real cohabitation," Nezha said softly. "What are you looking forward to?"
Ao Bing gazed at the ceiling, pondering for a moment. "I look forward to seeing more sides of you—your tired but satisfied expression after training, your excitement after a victory, and your occasional frustration after a loss... Back at school, even though we lived together, we had so many classes and activities that we didn’t have much time to truly be together."
Nezha turned to look at Ao Bing, his eyes filled with tenderness. "Me too. I want to see you focused while playing the piano, frowning while studying Dragon Music, and... your quiet face when you sleep."
Ao Bing gently tapped Nezha’s forehead. "You’re such a smooth talker."
Nezha smiled as he held Ao Bing’s hand. "Really, Ao Bing, living with you is a happiness I never imagined. In the past, I only knew how to charge forward without thinking about tomorrow. But now, I have someone I want to protect and a future I look forward to."
Ao Bing gazed deeply into Nezha's eyes. "I feel the same way, Nezha. The life of the Dragon Tribe is long, but I’ve never felt time so precious; every day is worth remembering."
They exchanged smiles, and on their first night in the new home, they slowly drifted into dreams filled with beautiful expectations for their future life.
Life quickly fell into a routine. Nezha trained at the club every morning and studied Tactics and physical training in the afternoons; Ao Bing attended classes at the music academy and returned to the Dragon Palace on weekends to handle affairs. In his spare time, he practiced piano at home or worked on designs for the Underwater Concert Hall.
Both of their schedules were busy, but they made an effort to coordinate their time to ensure they could have dinner together every evening, sharing stories and feelings from their day.
"Today my coach said my passing accuracy has improved significantly," Nezha excitedly said one evening as he stuffed his mouth with stir-fried shrimp made by Ao Bing. "If I keep this up, I might start in next month's warm-up match!"
Ao Bing nodded with a smile. "That’s great! You’ve been training hard lately, often analyzing game footage late into the night."
Nezha scratched his head shyly. "Did you catch me? I thought you were already asleep."
"Your sneaky movements are too obvious," Ao Bing chuckled. "I know you don’t want to disturb my rest, but honestly, I don’t mind if you watch footage in our bedroom."
Nezha looked at Ao Bing tenderly. "You need plenty of rest. I know Dragon Tribe members have more endurance than humans, but running between the music academy and Dragon Palace every day is tough enough."
Ao Bing felt warmth in his heart as he took Nezha's hand. "We’re both working hard for our dreams. By the way, the preliminary design for the Underwater Concert Hall is complete; the Dragon Clan Craftsman will start construction next week. If all goes well, we can hold our first concert next summer."
Nezha's eyes lit up. "That’s wonderful! It coincides perfectly with my first season. We must celebrate it properly!"
And so, their ordinary yet fulfilling days passed by one after another. Their life was not without small frictions—Nezha sometimes forgot to wash his sports clothes, leaving a room filled with sweat; Ao Bing occasionally lost track of time while practicing piano until Nezha reminded him it was time to eat.
But these small frictions never escalated into real arguments; instead, they became spices that added flavor to their lives, making their mundane daily routines more enjoyable.
