Mo Wen summarized his current restlessness as a result of not having fought recently; in other words, he was simply bored. The lack of battles had made him feel somewhat dull. Back in the Cloud Mist Forest, he hardly had a moment of peace. Whether he was fleeing or being pursued, he faced combat almost every day, and in such an environment, it was natural for him not to feel restless.
However, since entering this mountain range, the number of Demon Beasts and Chimeras he encountered could be counted on one hand. Especially in recent days, there had been no battles at all; not even a living creature was in sight, as if he were the only one alive in this area. This anomaly had certainly caught Mo Wen's attention, but so far, aside from feeling slightly irritable, he had not experienced any other adverse reactions. Therefore, he remained vigilant without considering detouring.
Sitting cross-legged on a tree branch, he gazed into the distance and frowned. The closer he got to Bei Yin Mountain, the denser the clouds in the sky and the mist on the ground became. From afar, it appeared that the clouds around Bei Yin Mountain had completely blocked out the sunlight, casting a shadowy gloom over the area. Occasionally, Electric Snakes slithered through the clouds as if brewing a storm; this scene resembled descriptions of storms from storybooks. At that moment, he could also make out some details of Bei Yin Mountain. The clouds obscured the upper part of the mountain, cascading down like a waterfall and forming a sea of mist at its base. The entire Bei Yin Mountain looked like a fountain shrouded in fog, with lighter mists floating halfway up and heavier ones sinking to create a misty sea within the forest.
Retracting his gaze, he opened his storage bag and the Storage Device obtained from Wang Tian. Although his recent gains were minimal, being alone did not hinder him from organizing his belongings. More importantly, he needed to force himself to develop the habit of tidying up; the chaotic feeling from when he organized things in the cave had left him uncomfortable.
After finishing his tidying up and preparing to rest, his attention was drawn to a wooden box that seemed to emit a faint glow. Although dim, it still piqued his interest. This wooden box was given to him by the Village Chief of Kao Shu Village, and since then, he had never opened it nor knew what it contained. Upon opening the box, he revealed an object inside: a stone tablet about half a foot wide and a foot tall. The tablet was originally covered with dense inscriptions, but these characters had become blurred over time. At the top of the tablet was once a circular pattern that had also faded. At that moment, arcs of electricity flickered across its surface; as they danced, the originally unclear inscriptions began to sharpen into focus. Among them, several characters became vaguely recognizable. After straining his eyes for half an hour, he finally discerned one character: "Tai."
"It's Yin Wen!" After identifying the character "Tai," Mo Wen felt an exhilarating rush. Yin Wen was an ancient script; its presence indicated that this stone tablet was an artifact from ancient times. Moreover, Yin Wen was one of the subjects he studied with Old Lu back in Cloud Mist Forest. Before starting his cultivation practice, Old Lu began teaching him how to read and recognize characters—initially ordinary ones before delving into strange scripts from this world and languages of other races, including Yin Wen.
