"You still need to make money? Didn't Jiang Chen say yesterday that Wang Tu would compensate each of you a hundred million?" Chen Renjing remarked sarcastically from the side.
She was still upset about Jiang Chen's coldness towards her the day before, holding a grudge against him. Although she didn't dare to mock him to his face, she was quite vocal about her dissatisfaction behind his back.
"Jiang Chen's money is his own. Even though we have an impressive friend now, we still have to rely on our own hands to get rich," Liu Ying retorted.
"Please, I think Jiang Chen is just blowing hot air. Wang Tu isn't an idiot; don't even dream of a hundred million. If he can manage to cough up a hundred thousand, you should be celebrating," Chen Renjing scoffed.
"Ding!" Just then, Liu Ying's phone on the table vibrated. She paid it no mind, thinking it was just a message from someone. But when she looked at her phone, she froze in place.
"Liu Ying, what's wrong?" Wang Shun Yuan asked.
"Ding!"
Wang Shun Yuan's phone chimed as well. He picked it up and glanced at it, and like Liu Ying, he stood there as if frozen in time.
"What’s going on?" Huang Lin asked, confused by the strange behavior of both.
"I... I can't be seeing things. My bank account just received a hundred million," Wang Shun Yuan said, his voice trembling with shock.
"My bank account also received a hundred million," Liu Ying followed up. A hundred million was absolutely staggering for ordinary people; there were eight zeros after the one, and just counting them was dizzying.
Wang Shun Yuan and Liu Ying's words dropped like stones into a calm lake, instantly stirring up waves of shock among everyone having breakfast.
"Wang Tu really compensated each of you a hundred million?" Chen Renjing's eyes nearly popped out in disbelief.
In her view, Wang Tu had merely spilled some wine on Wang Shun Yuan and Liu Ying. Even with Qin Xiaoya stepping in, there was no way Wang Tu would actually compensate two hundred million; that was simply unrealistic unless he had lost his mind or had so much money he didn't know what to do with it.
"I'll call Jiang Chen." Once she regained her composure, Liu Ying quickly dialed Jiang Chen's number.
"Jiang Chen, are you serious? Wang Tu really gave me and my boss a hundred million each! This is unbelievable! We're coming over right now to give you the money," Liu Ying said excitedly.
"The money transferred to you is yours now; you can spend it however you like," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"But..."
"No buts about it, Liu Ying. Don't be polite with me. You can take this money and start a business with Wang Ge and Gao Kang. Two hundred million should be enough for you to get started," Jiang Chen encouraged.
"Start a business?" Liu Ying was taken aback. Once upon a time, her dream had been to become an entrepreneur and own her own business. However, society was too harsh; without startup capital and connections, it was nearly impossible to move forward. Now that she had Jiang Chen's support, starting a business truly seemed like a viable path.
"That's settled then. Alright, I have to hang up now; I have other matters this afternoon and can't stay with you. We'll have dinner together tonight and talk more," Jiang Chen said before ending the call.
Liu Ying put down her phone and looked at Wang Shun Yuan and Gao Kang.
"Jiang Chen said we three should take this money and start a business."
"Starting a business..."
Wang Shun Yuan and Gao Kang were naturally left in shock.
