Gu Yu had no choice but to plead. Hua Yuejin's voice was stern, giving off an air that suggested he was ready to resort to violence at any moment.
"How about this? I can offer fifteen billion. Mr. Jiang, please save my son. He is my only child; if this continues, how will he ever face anyone again?" Gu Yu hesitated for a moment before gritting his teeth and speaking.
"This is no longer just about money, Manager Gu. I advise you to use this time wisely and prepare the funds quickly. If the money doesn't arrive before My Young Master leaves, I doubt you and your son will have much longer to live," Qin Xiaoya replied coldly.
Gu Yu didn't truly believe Jiang Chen would kill him; after all, he was a person of considerable standing, and this was modern society—not some primitive world where one could kill without consequence. However, even if he didn't think Jiang Chen would go that far, he wasn't willing to risk his precious life to find out.
"I'll transfer ten billion right away," Gu Yu said.
Ten billion was a significant amount, but the Gu Family was a shareholder in a bank in the country, so transferring the funds was not an issue. This time, Gu Yu acted quickly.
"Alright, Manager Gu, the money has been received. You can leave now," Qin Xiaoya stated.
"President Qin, my son is in dire straits. I beg you and Mr. Jiang to show mercy and not hold this against us. We were blind to our own faults," Gu Yu said humbly.
"Get lost! If you don't leave, don't blame me for being rude," Hua Yuejin snapped when he saw Gu Yu lingering and rambling on. He wanted to have a proper conversation with Jiang Chen, but Gu Yu's presence made it difficult for him to find the right words, and just seeing Gu Yu made him angry.
"Hua Lao, you can't treat me like this," Gu Yu said, on the verge of tears.
"I'll count to three. If you're still here after three, I'll personally throw you out," Hua Yuejin warned with a heavy tone.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
After the third count, Gu Yu was still stammering. Hua Yuejin wasted no time; he did as he promised and directly threw both Gu Yu and his son out of the tea house.
Gu Yu and Gu Xiangzhou stood at the entrance, with Gu Xiangzhou still shouting for the antidote. Gu Yu felt frustrated; all of this trouble stemmed from his son.
"What kind of people have you offended? You only bring me trouble! Now I've sent out ten billion and become a sinner in the Gu Family," Gu Yu exclaimed angrily as he slapped his son across the face.
Gu Xiangzhou looked equally distressed, rubbing his cheek and on the verge of tears—he was the biggest victim in all of this.
"Damn it! It's all that Wang Tu's fault! I want to kill him!" Gu Xiangzhou shouted as he identified the "culprit." This situation had truly cost them dearly; while money could be recovered, if he couldn't return to normalcy after this ordeal, he might as well be dead.
"What do we do now, Dad? Is there really no way out? I can't live like this for the rest of my life!" Gu Xiangzhou lamented with a sorrowful expression.
"Of course we can't do that. We must get the Antidote first. Let's go back and have your grandfather handle it. We'll visit the Qin family tonight," Gu Yu said. Although he was angry, saving his son was the priority.
After Gu Yu and the others were thrown out, Hua Yuejin returned to the teahouse. With the matter resolved, the teahouse became quiet again, allowing everyone to enjoy their tea in peace.
"Mr. Jiang, this is the Sword Manual you gave me last time. I've finished reading it, so I'm returning it to you today," Ye Xiaoying said, holding the Sword Manual up with both hands and presenting it to Jiang Chen.
Qin Xiaoya took the Sword Manual on behalf of Jiang Chen.
