Lou Yijing had quite the presence; with a single phrase, she silenced the crowd. Even though it hurt, no one dared to utter a sound.
"Mr. Jiang, I underestimated you. I didn't expect someone so young to possess such remarkable skills. You truly are impressive. However, being by Liu Liangmei's side seems beneath your talents," Lou Yijing said, gathering her thoughts and looking at Jiang Chen with a charming smile.
Jiang Chen ignored Lou Yijing's provocation and calmly asked, "I heard the Shuangyue Jade Pendant is with you. I'd like to see it."
His words were direct, and his calm gaze fixed on Lou Yijing. Despite her flirtatious demeanor, it did nothing to shake Jiang Chen's composure.
"The Shuangyue Jade Pendant?" Upon hearing Jiang Chen mention it, Lou Yijing's expression turned sharp and cold.
While the Shuangyue Jade Pendant held no immediate value for her, it was of great significance; it was the treasure of Zhai Yue Pavilion and a relic of their heritage. Even for a hundred billion, Lou Yijing would never sell it.
"The Shuangyue Jade Pendant is just an ordinary jade pendant, nothing special. Mr. Jiang, if you're interested in treasures, I have quite a collection. As long as you stay by my side, you can choose any of my treasures," Lou Yijing offered, extending an olive branch to Jiang Chen.
"I'm not interested in your other treasures; my sole interest lies in the Shuangyue Jade Pendant. I came here specifically for it and intend to have it. You should just hand it over; there's nothing I can't obtain," Jiang Chen replied flatly. If anyone else had said such words, they might have been laughed at, but when Jiang Chen spoke them, they sent ripples of shock through the crowd.
Lou Yijing's delicate brows furrowed once more, her expression darkening. Jiang Chen's tone was somewhat domineering.
Initially, seeing Jiang Chen's martial prowess might have led Lou Yijing to grant him some leeway if he had shown a bit more humility. After all, she didn't want to create an unpleasant atmosphere today. However, Jiang Chen's arrogance was too much.
"Mr. Jiang, while it's commendable that you possess such profound martial skills at a young age and have the right to be proud, that pride must be measured by circumstance and company. Being overly proud in front of me is unwise; you don't think you can stand against me, do you?" Lou Yijing sneered.
"Did Liu Liangmei not inform you of my strength when she came with you? She isn't even my match; how much chance do you think you have against me?" Lou Yijing continued.
"Lou Yijing, you're mistaken. While I may not be your opponent, I'm certainly not Mr. Jiang's equal either. You just witnessed a glimpse of his power; you'd best hand over the Shuangyue Jade Pendant to Mr. Jiang," Liu Liangmei interjected.
"Hmph! Liu Liangmei, don't compare me to you. Just because you're not his match doesn't mean I am not," Lou Yijing said in a low voice. With her disciples and guests present in the hall, she couldn't afford to lose face.
"You're overestimating yourself," Liu Liangmei shook her head slightly.
"Very well then; I'll take this opportunity to test Mr. Jiang's abilities," Lou Yijing declared with even greater pride than Liu Liangmei.
Jiang Chen and Liu Liangmei had nearly clashed during their first meeting; now that he was facing his junior sister Liu Liangmei again, a confrontation seemed inevitable. Only through strength could one command respect.
Lou Yijing flicked her Soft Sword, which crackled ominously as she prepared for action.
"Mr. Jiang, prepare for my strike!" Lou Yijing called out sharply before swiftly launching her attack. The Soft Sword moved with an eerie grace, twisting like a snake as it aimed to strike from unexpected angles.
