Yang Feng saw Guo Si's army retreat and then regroup, preparing to face the enemy. As the two armies confronted each other, Guo Si's general, Cui Yong, rode out and shouted loudly, "Yang Feng, you rebel! You hold the Emperor to elevate yourself. Today, I, Cui Yong, will take your head and restore clarity to the world!"
Yang Feng's anger flared as he spurred his horse forward and called out loudly, "Where is Gong Ming?"
From within the ranks, a general emerged, clad in heavy armor and wielding a massive axe while riding a fine steed. He charged forward with a commanding presence and declared, "I am Xu Huang. Please rest assured, General!"
Yang Feng nodded slightly and coldly commanded, "I grant you one incense stick's worth of time to bring me Cui Yong's head!"
Xu Huang galloped fiercely towards Cui Yong. Seeing the fierce general charging at him, Cui Yong showed no fear and raised his spear to engage. The two horses crossed paths as blades clashed in an instant. With a loud clang, Cui Yong's spear shattered and his horse fell. Before he could react, a flash of cold light appeared, and his head was severed from his body, blood gushing forth.
The soldiers of Guo Si's army were thrown into chaos upon witnessing their commander killed in an instant. Seizing the opportunity, Yang Feng shouted, "All troops, heed my command! Charge!"
The Han Army surged forward like a fierce tiger descending from the mountains into the enemy ranks. Guo Si's forces fell into disarray as soldiers scattered in panic, ultimately being pursued back over twenty miles.

With the battle concluded, Yang Feng recalled his troops and returned to the Emperor's carriage. He dismounted and knelt before Han Xian Di, saying, "This humble general is fortunate not to have failed in my duty; I have safeguarded your majesty. Please forgive my tardiness."
Han Xian Di helped Yang Feng to his feet with gratitude in his voice: "Yang General, you risked everything to confront the enemy and saved me from peril; your contributions cannot be overlooked!"
Yang Feng bowed deeply in thanks: "Serving your majesty is my duty; I dare not claim credit."
Han Xian Di turned to the generals in formation and asked, "Who was it that just slew the rebel general? Such bravery is indeed a pillar of our nation."
Hearing this, Yang Feng quickly summoned Xu Huang forward. Dismounting, Xu Huang approached the carriage and knelt on both knees to pay his respects: "I am Xu Huang from Yang County in Hedong, courtesy name Gong Ming. I pay my respects to your majesty."
Han Xian Di scrutinized Xu Huang for a moment, his eyes filled with admiration as he said warmly, "General Xu, your bravery in battle, cutting down enemies and seizing flags, truly makes you a pillar of the nation. You will surely be of great use in the future!"
Xu Huang clasped his hands in gratitude, while Yang Feng ordered the preparation of the convoy to escort the Emperor to Hua Yin.

As night fell, Hua Yin County was ablaze with lights. The local general, Duan Wei, learned of the Emperor's arrival and prepared clothing, food, and wine, personally presenting them to the royal entourage and accompanying officials. Han Xian Di nodded in approval at Duan Wei's attentiveness and expressed his gratitude with kind words.
That night, the Emperor temporarily stayed in Yang Feng's military camp. The camp was heavily guarded and brightly lit, with soldiers holding weapons to secure the perimeter. A gentle breeze swept through the tents as Han Xian Di sat inside the main tent, gazing at the sparse stars in the night sky, finally feeling a slight sense of peace.
The next morning, the sky was overcast. Guo Si, unwilling to accept his defeat from the previous day, reorganized his troops and shouted for battle. His army surged forward like a tide, banners blocking out the sun and weapons glinting like a forest, their murderous intent pressing against Yang Feng's camp.
Guo Si personally took to the field, laughing maniacally as he shouted, "Yang Feng! Xu Huang! Your victory yesterday was mere luck; today I will bury you here! The Emperor will not escape again!"
Yang Feng snorted coldly and was about to respond when Xu Huang had already spurred his horse into battle, wielding a massive axe as he proclaimed loudly, "Do not be arrogant! Yesterday I cut down your general; today I will take your head!"
Xu Huang led the charge, swinging his axe fiercely at Guo Si's troops. In a flurry of blade and axe strikes, he felled several enemies with overwhelming momentum. However, Guo Si had long since ordered his men to encircle them tightly, forming an ironclad formation that trapped Yang Feng and the Emperor in the center.
The sounds of battle erupted all around; arrows rained down as the enemy closed in tighter. The soldiers protecting the royal convoy began to falter under pressure. Yang Feng turned around and shouted desperately, "Protect the carriage! We cannot let the Emperor be harmed!"
Inside the carriage, Han Xian Di listened to the sounds of fierce combat surrounding him. He clenched his hands tightly, his face pale with fear and helplessness. The guards were falling one by one as Guo Si's forces drew closer; despair was etched on every soldier's face within the camp.
In this critical moment of danger, a thunderous shout suddenly erupted from the southeast. Dust billowed in the distance as a large flag rushed forward. At its forefront was a general clad in armor wielding a spear, leading Elite Troops into Guo Si's encampment.
"Kill the bandits and save the emperor! Those who stand in my way shall die!"
The reinforcements surged forward like a fierce tiger descending from the mountain, swiftly tearing a gap in Guo Si's encirclement. The Guo Si army was thrown into chaos, and the soldiers cried out in alarm, "Reinforcements have arrived! Retreat quickly!"
Seeing this, Xu Huang seized the opportunity to lead a counterattack. With his great axe swinging, he felled several men, and the sounds of battle echoed through the air. Realizing the situation was dire, Guo Si gritted his teeth and shouted, "All troops retreat!" He raised his whip and hurriedly fell back to the rear.
Once the reinforcements stabilized the situation, their leader reined in his horse before the imperial carriage, dismounted, and knelt to bow his head. "I am Dong Cheng. I apologize for arriving late; please forgive me, Your Majesty!"
Han Xian Di's eyes reddened upon seeing him, tears streaming down his face. He stepped down from the carriage to help Dong Cheng up, his voice choked with emotion. "Dong Qing, I nearly lost my life at the hands of the bandits. If it weren't for your timely rescue today, I fear I would never return to court!"
Dong Cheng looked up, determination shining in his eyes. "Your Majesty need not worry. I swear with General Yang to slay Li Jue and Guo Si, these two villains, to ensure the Han Dynasty remains clear and bright."
Han Xian Di grasped Dong Cheng's hand, a mix of joy and sorrow on his face. "With you here, my heart is at ease." He then turned to command his attendants, "Prepare the carriage; we must hasten to Hongnong tonight. I want to escape this chaotic world as soon as possible."
That night, the imperial carriage set off again, moving eastward in a grand procession while the accompanying soldiers remained vigilant and alert. Inside the carriage, Han Xian Di gazed at the dark night sky. Though he was in perilous circumstances, he finally felt a glimmer of hope.
Guo Si retreated back to camp in utter disarray. As soon as he entered his tent, he saw Li Jue sitting at a table with a grim expression. Coldly, he asked, "How did you end up like this? Where is the imperial carriage?"
Breathing heavily, Guo Si fell to his knees in shame and anger. "Yang Feng and Dong Cheng led an ambush with reinforcements. Our army was no match for them and had no choice but to retreat. The imperial carriage has been escorted to Hongnong; if they establish a foothold there, they will surely issue an edict calling upon all lords to join forces against us! At that point, our lives will be forfeit!"
Li Jue frowned deeply upon hearing this. His fingers lightly tapped on the table as a fierce glint appeared in his eyes. After pondering for a moment, he sneered and said, "If that's the case, we cannot sit idly by and wait for our doom. Zhang Ji currently holds Chang'an and cannot move for a while. You and I should combine our forces and pursue them to Hongnong to slay that Han ruler; then we can divide the world between us!"
Upon hearing this plan, Guo Si's eyes lit up immediately as he nodded eagerly. "Good! This plan is feasible! Rather than waiting for destruction, let's fight for it!"
The two quickly made a plan, merging their troops and reorganizing their forces before heading straight for Hongnong.

The allied forces of Guo Si and Li Jue swept through the land, burning, killing, and plundering with extreme cruelty. Villages were reduced to rubble, and the common people fled in all directions, their cries echoing across the fields. They moved like locusts, leaving devastation in their wake.
At this time, Yang Feng and Dong Cheng had brought the Emperor to Hongnong. Upon hearing that the Bandit Army was approaching, Yang Feng furrowed his brow and said to Dong Cheng, "Li Jue and Guo Si are in cahoots; they are all in the same boat as bandits. Their numbers are great, and if we do not confront them in time, we may face annihilation."
Dong Cheng tightened his grip on his Pei Jian, his gaze resolute. "Rather than wait for them to attack, we should take the initiative. This time, we will make them understand what it means to bring about their own destruction!"
Yang Feng nodded and immediately ordered the troops to regroup, abandoning their northward march to turn around and meet the enemy head-on.

At Dongjian, the two armies faced off against each other, the sounds of battle shaking the heavens as blades flashed in the sunlight. Yang Feng stood armored on high ground, raising his spear toward the enemy forces and shouting sternly, "Rebels Li Jue and Guo Si! The Emperor is here; why do you not retreat at once and restore clarity to the court?"
Guo Si laughed heartily from within his ranks, brandishing a long knife as he replied, "Yang Feng! Dong Cheng! Do you think you can stop us with these troops? Once we kill you, the Emperor will die by our hands as well!"
Li Jue remained silent, slowly riding forward. Drawing his sword with a casual motion, he pointed ahead and commanded, "Charge! Today, if we do not slay these traitors, I vow not to withdraw my troops!"
The soldiers from both sides clashed fiercely together; the shouts filled the air as blood stained the river. Yang Feng and Dong Cheng commanded with order; though their numbers were few, their morale was high as they fiercely resisted the enemy's relentless assault. The sounds of battle echoed through the valley as the fierce combat raged on.
