The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey
In the blink of an eye, Tian Buyi approached Bai Duzai and Duanmu Tie, holding the immortal sword. With a stern expression and without a hint of hesitation, he raised the blade, ready to strike.
The killing intent was overwhelming. Bai Duzai sighed deeply and closed his eyes, awaiting death. Suddenly, he heard Duanmu Tie cry out in despair, collapsing to the ground, pleading, "Spare us, Immortal! Please grant us our lives. I... I will give you anything you want. Also, if you want to know anything, just ask me. I promise to tell you everything, just spare our lives."
Tian Buyi paused; surprisingly, he did not immediately stab down.
After a moment of waiting, Duanmu Tie noticed a hint of hesitation on Tian Buyi's face. Seizing this glimmer of hope, he became overjoyed and hurriedly continued to plead, pulling on the still-dazed Bai Duzai.
Bai Duzai jolted and quickly joined in begging for mercy.
The three of them came from humble beginnings; they had each gained a bit of cultivation opportunity and entered a demonic sect after acquiring some skills. They valued their lives above all else, and now that they were in such peril, they were willing to abandon all pretense.
Standing behind Tian Buyi, several members of the Azure Cloud Sect remained unfazed. Ten Thousand Swords in One showed no change in expression, while Azure Pine and Shang Zhengliang shook their heads at the scene with disdain. However, Zeng Shuchang exclaimed, "Oh! These three seem quite loyal. Even at this moment, they are pleading together for mercy."
Azure Pine snorted and said, "It's just the nonsense of a demon; there's nothing worth paying attention to."
Zeng Shuchang smiled and nodded in agreement.
After a glance from Azure Pine, his expression softened slightly as he slowly nodded.

Meanwhile, on the other side, after hesitating for a moment, Tian Buyi slowly lowered his immortal sword. After pondering for a while, he said, "I actually forgot earlier; I do have something I want to ask you."
Duanmu Tie quickly interjected, "Immortal! Please feel free to ask anything. We brothers will definitely tell you everything without holding back. We... we really didn't kill anyone!"
Tian Buyi snorted, slightly turning to the side, but his gaze glanced back at Ten Thousand Swords in One.
Ten Thousand Swords in One walked over and said lightly, "I ask you, this place is considered the edge of the wilderness, but how should one navigate the paths deep within the wilderness to reach the Barbaric Sacred Hall?"
Duanmu Tie opened his mouth to speak but suddenly paused, noticing the flickering gaze of Ten Thousand Swords in One and the others. He exclaimed in surprise, "You... want to go to the Barbaric Sacred Hall?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One turned directly and said to Tian Buyi, "First, take care of this chatterbox."
Tian Buyi nodded and said, "Understood." He raised his celestial sword again, preparing to stab it toward Duanmu Tie's chest.
Duanmu Tie let out a scream, his face turning pale as he fell to the ground. At the same time, he hurriedly said, "I-I traveled west along this route; after crossing the desert is the wilderness. There are various terrains like Gobi deserts, oases, forests, swamps, and canyons scattered everywhere. It's hard to predict; you shouldn't go anywhere else as it's dangerous and you'll only get lost. You must first cross the desert and then go through the oasis. Although it's the longest route, it will definitely lead you there. On another path, the Sand Dance Maze oasis has undrinkable water and various ferocious beasts..."
In this lengthy speech, Duanmu Tie, a tall and sturdy man, blurted everything out in a rush as if fearing that if he hesitated even a moment, Tian Buyi would stab him in the chest. The surrounding people looked on with wide eyes.
Finally finished, Duanmu Tie almost choked himself and quickly lay on the ground gasping for breath.
After catching his breath, he noticed that there was no sound ahead. Duanmu Tie raised his head to sneak a glance and found that several members of Azure Cloud Sect seemed to be exchanging glances with each other.
After a moment, Ten Thousand Swords in One turned his head and coughed lightly. "Um... could you repeat that?"
Duanmu Tie: "..."
Once Duanmu Tie slowed down his speech and clearly articulated the route word by word, the five members of Azure Cloud Sect exchanged glances. Ten Thousand Swords in One nodded slightly while Tian Buyi slowly sheathed his celestial sword.
Duanmu Tie and Bai Duzai looked at these five fierce individuals and hesitated for a while before Bai Duzai finally whispered, "Sirs, we have told you what we needed to; can we be allowed to leave now?"
Tian Buyi ignored him, walked over to Ten Thousand Swords in One, glanced at him, and whispered, "Senior Brother, look at this..."
Ten Thousand Swords in One pondered for a moment, nodded, but then turned around and coldly said, "Today I will spare your three dog lives, but if I encounter you again next time, it will be your death day. There will be no mercy. Do you hear me!"
This last shout was like thunder, shaking Duanmu Tie and Bai Duzai so much that their bodies trembled. They quickly nodded in agreement and were about to leave when they were suddenly stopped by Zeng Shuchang, who approached.
This fellow was cunning and sternly ordered the three to hand over all their cultivation items, including treasures, weapons, pills, and so on—nothing was to be left behind.
Having fallen to such a state, Duanmu Tie and the others had no energy left to argue and could only mournfully take out their belongings and place them on the ground, including the items from the unconscious Vampire Demon, which they also retrieved.
However, just as they were preparing to leave, Ten Thousand Swords in One suddenly shouted, "Wait!"
At this moment, Duanmu Tie and Bai Duzai truly felt they could not endure any longer; a surge of blood rushed up, and they almost wanted to fight back. But as soon as they saw that white figure, the courage they had just mustered instantly faded away. They could only lower their heads and say, "What is it, Young Master Wan?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One did not look at Duanmu Tie, only staring at Bai Duzai. When Bai Duzai felt completely uncomfortable and could barely hold back his laughter, Ten Thousand Swords in One finally said indifferently, "You should still have one item that you haven't handed over yet, right?"
Bai Duzai shivered and asked, "What?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One sneered and said, "That sword you ambushed me with in Grass Shoe Village. Stop wasting words and take it out."
Bai Duzai's face turned pale as he gritted his teeth and finally pulled out a rectangular sword box from behind him and tossed it to Ten Thousand Swords in One.
Ten Thousand Swords in One reached out to catch it and then waved his hand as if swatting away flies. Duanmu Tie held the still unconscious Vampire Demon under his arm while supporting the injured Bai Duzai, quickly walking away.
However, after just a few steps—perhaps due to the passage of time or being jolted—the Vampire Demon surprisingly woke up. As soon as he opened his eyes, he shouted furiously, "Tian Buyi, you coward! Where are you? I’ll kill you..."
Before he could finish speaking, two hands suddenly covered his mouth tightly, preventing him from making any sound. Duanmu Tie dared not linger any longer and quickly ran away.
The three of them fled without sparing any effort or caring about their injuries, running for an unknown distance. When they saw that no one was chasing them and they had completely distanced themselves from the five calamities of the Azure Cloud Sect, they finally stopped to catch their breath.
After a moment, Duanmu Tie looked at the other two and said with a bitter smile, "This time we really fell into a trap; we almost went to the gates of hell. What are your plans now?"
Bai Duzai and Vampire Demon both looked pale. After a moment, Vampire Demon tentatively suggested, "Should we go back to the wilderness?"
Bai Duzai and Duanmu Tie shook their heads simultaneously, their faces filled with fear. "If we encounter that disaster again on the way back, we'll truly be dead."
Vampire Demon shivered slightly, nodded, and no longer mentioned the matter.
After discussing for a while, they reached a decision: given the circumstances, it would be better for all of them not to return to the wilderness. First, that Ten Thousand Swords in One was truly vicious; avoiding him was wise. Second, the three of them had been stripped of their possessions by those treacherous members of the Azure Cloud Sect. Even if they returned to the wilderness, their strength would be greatly diminished, making them targets for ridicule. If a conflict broke out, they might even become cannon fodder for no reason.
In conclusion, in the desolate desert on the edge of the wilderness, Duanmu Tie, Bai Duzai, and Vampire Demon parted ways. They would no longer return to the wilderness but instead focus on their cultivation. They would wait until they had made progress in their skills before reuniting to seek revenge on that detestable Ten Thousand Swords in One!
Of course, regarding this vow, each of them had varying degrees of confidence in their hearts; that was another matter. However, it was important to speak boldly so that everyone felt better. Thus, each swore with great anger that one day they would slay Ten Thousand Swords in One and destroy Yuqing Palace to vent their frustrations!
As a result, amidst the swirling yellow sand of the desert, these three Demonic Cult Monsters departed in different directions. When they met again, it would be many years later.

In the stone forest, after watching the three from the Demonic Cult flee in embarrassment, Azure Pine frowned and said to Ten Thousand Swords in One, "Senior Brother, is it really okay to let them go like this?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One waved his hand and smiled. "They are just some insignificant characters; there's no need to pay them any mind."
Azure Pine nodded, appearing to be quite convinced by what Ten Thousand Swords in One had said, and did not take the matter to heart.
Next, the members of Azure Cloud Sect each organized their belongings, including dividing up the items left by the three on the ground. Anything useless or disgusting and toxic was buried in a pit they dug on the spot.
Ten Thousand Swords in One then walked aside alone and opened the sword box in his hand. From the outside, the box did not seem very long, at least not large enough to hold a divine weapon like the Dragon Slayer Sword. However, when he opened the lid, a sharp yet slightly cold sword aura suddenly surged from the box, revealing a short sword with a blade as bright as snow before Ten Thousand Swords in One.
Even with Ten Thousand Swords in One's discerning eye, he couldn't help but raise his eyebrows in admiration and exclaim, "What a good sword!"
A glance revealed that the blade of this short sword was engraved with the two characters "Moyue." The entire sword emanated a formidable aura without anger, clearly an exceptional spiritual sword.
Ten Thousand Swords in One had always loved fine swords, and most of his cultivation was focused on swordsmanship. Seeing this brought him some joy; however, the blade was somewhat short and did not seem entirely suitable for his sword techniques. It appeared more like a weapon used by women or assassins. The name Moyue also seemed quite meaningful. After examining it for a while and pondering, Ten Thousand Swords in One closed the sword box and put it away casually.
At this moment, the other four had also finished packing up and walked over. Azure Pine said to Ten Thousand Swords in One, "Senior Brother, shall we continue towards the wilderness?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One smiled slightly and replied, "Let's go."
With that, he turned and strode ahead, his white robes billowing as he walked into the depths of the desert. Azure Pine, Tian Buyi, and the others followed closely behind, braving the swirling sand as they moved forward.
