Dao Xuan stood in place for a moment, then adjusted his Daoist robe and walked to the front of Qiu Wangyu's hall. He respectfully bowed to the somewhat dim hall and said, "Master, I am your disciple Dao Xuan, here to pay my respects." 0

There was silence from Qiu Wangyu, and no one responded. 0

After waiting for a while, Dao Xuan remained respectful and slowly said, "Then I will take my leave." 0

Although this situation seemed a bit strange, it had not been uncommon in recent days. Chengzi had been recuperating in Qiu Wangyu's hall and had become increasingly taciturn. Every few days, Dao Xuan would come to pay his respects, and out of five visits, he encountered this cold reception two or three times. However, when in a good mood, Chengzi would occasionally inquire about matters inside the hall, but that was generally the extent of it. 0

It had been a long time since Dao Xuan had seen his master's face in person. As this thought crossed his mind, a shadow flickered across his heart. Meanwhile, Su Ru, who had been standing behind him, curiously glanced at Qiu Wangyu's hall. When Dao Xuan returned, she couldn't help but ask him in a low voice, "Brother Daoxuan, is Master Zhangmen really in there meditating?" 0

Dao Xuan replied, "Of course." He looked at Su Ru and asked, "Why do you ask?" 0

Su Ru said, "I just came over here and also went to that hall..." 0

Dao Xuan's expression changed slightly. "What? Did you go inside?" 0

Su Ru stuck out her tongue and said, "No, I didn't. The hall looked dark and a bit scary, so I didn't dare to go in. I stood at the door and greeted Master Zhangmen, but just like you earlier, he ignored me." 0

Dao Xuan relaxed his expression slightly. "That might be because Master is currently cultivating. Anyway, don't come here again in the future. If you disturb him and he gets angry, we won't be able to help you." 0

Su Ru chuckled cheerfully and said, "Got it." 0

Seeing her genuine smile, Dao Xuan shook his head with a wry smile and then led Su Ru down the mountain path while saying to her, "By the way, didn't you come to find me for something?" 0

Su Ru replied with a sound of acknowledgment. "Yes, I wanted to ask you if the list for the Seven Veins Martial Arts Conference has been submitted by all the other sects besides our Zhu Feng." 0

Dao Xuan paused for a moment in surprise. "I entrusted this matter to your senior sister Shuiyue. She just gave me the list for Zhu Feng. Well, both your name and Shuiyue's name are on it. As for the other sects, I have an idea about Tongfeng, but we need to wait for their leaders to finalize theirs." 0

Su Ru responded with an "oh," but did not continue speaking; she seemed hesitant to say more. Curious about her reaction, Dao Xuan noticed they had reached the stone tablet inscribed with Illusory Moon Cave. Turning around, they continued walking down the mountain. Dao Xuan asked Su Ru, "Why are you suddenly asking about this?" 0

Su Ru hesitated for a moment and said softly, "Senior Brother, I was thinking about the date of the Seven Veins Martial Arts Conference. Could it be postponed a bit?" 0

"Mm?" Dao Xuan raised an eyebrow and looked at Su Ru. He already held a high reputation among the younger generation of disciples in the Azure Cloud Sect, and with his recent role in managing sect affairs, he had become even more respected. Ordinary disciples regarded him with a bit more awe. 0

Su Ru felt a sudden panic under his gaze and quickly waved her hands, saying, "No, no, no, Senior Brother, please don't misunderstand. This is a big matter; I certainly wouldn't dare to give unsolicited advice." 0

Dao Xuan frowned and said, "Junior Sister Su, I know you are not that kind of person. However, since you mentioned it, there must be a reason behind it? What is it that requires postponing the Seven Veins Conference? Please tell me." 0

A slight blush crossed Su Ru's snow-like translucent cheeks. After a moment's pause, she gathered her courage and said, "Senior Brother, I was thinking... Wan Shixiong and the other four have yet to return." 0

Dao Xuan suddenly understood and exclaimed, "Oh," giving Su Ru a meaningful look. 0

Su Ru's face turned even redder, but she continued, "The five of them are fighting for the great cause of our Azure Cloud Sect, as well as for the Lower Mortal Beings. They bravely ventured into the perilous Wilderness, risking their lives to battle against the Demonic Cult Monster. If we hold the Seven Veins Martial Arts Conference without waiting for their return, I feel it would be inappropriate." 0

Dao Xuan smiled and then straightened his expression. "Junior Sister Su, you are absolutely right. I will take note of this." 0

Su Ru was taken aback; she hadn't expected her usually revered senior brother to be so understanding. He exceeded her expectations by tenfold. For a moment, she didn't know how to respond. After a while, she suddenly exclaimed joyfully and jumped up slightly, placing her hand on her chest and smiling, "Thank you, Senior Brother! Thank you!" 0

Dao Xuan smiled gently and said, "There's no need to thank me; it's only natural. The Seven Factions Martial Arts Tournament will wait until Jian returns to Azure Cloud Mountain. You can rest assured. By the way, aside from this matter, you also asked me for the list of names from other factions. What do you want to see?" 0

Su Ru blinked her eyes and replied, "Oh, it's nothing much. I just wanted to check if those five senior brothers are on the lists submitted by each faction." 0

Dao Xuan chuckled and said, "I see. The lists for those five factions haven't been submitted yet, but I have an idea about it. Changmen Tongfeng, Wan Shidi, is definitely on there; that's a given..." 0

Su Ru smiled brightly, looking particularly happy. 0

Dao Xuan continued, "As for the other four... let me think... umm, Dragon Head Peak Cang Song Junior Brother, known for his reputation, will undoubtedly be on the list; Feng Huai Peak Senior Brother Zeng, being the only son of Zeng Wujishi Uncle, has outstanding talent as well. I've heard that Master Zeng has been nurturing him lately; he should be fine too. Then there's Chaoyang Peak Shang Zhengliang, Junior Disciple, who is a favored disciple of Master Zeng; he should also be included in the Seven Factions Martial Arts Tournament. As for..." 0

Suddenly, Dao Xuan paused mid-sentence and frowned slightly. Su Ru, who had been listening with a smile on her face, felt her heart skip a beat when she noticed his sudden silence. She became somewhat anxious and hurriedly asked, "Senior Brother, what's wrong?" 0

Dao Xuan frowned and said, "The last one left is Junior Brother Tian Buyi from Dazhu Peak. Junior Brother Tian has never been very prominent, and he is also quite low-key. I don't know much about him; even from Grandmaster Zheng of Dazhu Peak, Zheng Tong, Master Uncle, I haven't heard him mention Junior Brother Tian more than a few times. As far as I know, Junior Brother Tian's cultivation level at Dazhu Peak seems to be quite ordinary, so among these five people, he is the only one I am unsure whether he will really be on the list to participate in the Seven Veins Martial Arts Conference." 0

Su Ru was taken aback for a moment, then suddenly became furious, her cheeks reddening slightly as she exclaimed, "What? This is outrageous! That fat guy is not human? His life doesn't matter? When going to dangerous and wild places, does he take on any less risk than anyone else? Why is he singled out for disdain? What kind of reasoning is this?" 0

Her words were filled with intense emotion, and in the end, she even stomped her foot angrily, gritting her teeth as if she were extremely upset. Dao Xuan looked at her in surprise but still comforted her, saying, "Hey, don't be anxious. The list from Dazhu Peak hasn't been submitted yet; it's possible that Junior Brother Tian will be on it. What I just said was merely my own speculation and shouldn't be taken seriously." 0

However, Su Ru sneered and showed a look of indignation as she said, "Dao Xuan Shixiong, don't try to persuade me. Just because you are not from Dazhu Peak doesn't mean you should think like them. In my opinion, those people from that lineage also look down on Tian Buyi. Just because he is a bit slow-witted and has slightly lower skills doesn't mean he should be bullied; no one cares what he does. In my view, the other disciples from Dazhu Peak are not even comparable to that fat guy. Otherwise, why don't you send them to the Wilderness for a trip? Who would dare go? The fat guy has risked his life while they comfortably stay at Azure Cloud Mountain yet still look down on him—what kind of reasoning is that?" 0

At first, Su Ru was filled with righteous indignation, but later she seemed to think of something else and appeared to feel wronged on behalf of that dead fat guy. Her emotions became so intense that her eyes even turned slightly red, and her voice trembled as she spoke; it was clear she was very upset. 0

Dao Xuan watched her with a stirred heart and couldn't help but take another look at the girl in front of him. He shook his head and ultimately offered some gentle words of comfort to Su Ru. 0

Although Su Ru was angry, no matter what, Tian Buyi was still a disciple of Dazhu Peak, and the list for participating in the Seven Factions Martial Arts Tournament was drafted by each faction of Qingyun Sect. So no matter how indignant she felt, there wasn't much she could do. In the end, she could only accept Dao Xuan's reassurance that nothing was decided yet and promised to speak with Grandmaster Zheng of Dazhu Peak about it before finally breaking into a smile and thanking Dao Xuan. Well, she expressed gratitude on behalf of that fat guy before leaving. 0

As they walked back to the front mountain and saw Su Ru's figure leaving cheerfully, Dao Xuan sighed softly. At one moment, he even felt a bit envious of Su Ru's somewhat innocent mindset. However, he was not that kind of person; after all, many affairs of Azure Cloud Sect rested on his shoulders now, leaving him little time to indulge in such feelings. 0

Thus, Dao Xuan planned to return to Yuqing Palace while pondering whether he should really go greet Zheng Tong, Master Uncle regarding Tian Buyi's matter. This could be significant; in fact, if he didn't go at all, Junior Sister Su Ru wouldn't truly come to pester him about it. She might not even know what had happened; she would probably just think that the people from Dazhu Peak looked down on Tian Buyi and didn't allow him to participate in the Seven Factions Martial Arts Tournament. 0

He never expected that girl would actually see something special in that fat guy… 0
