The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey
Above the Barbaric Sacred Hall, chaos reigned, but at the most majestic Main Hall, there was a temporary calm. Dozens of masters from three sects had returned to the great hall, while over a hundred feet away stood a strangely shaped tall tower, known as the Shura Tower, which belonged to the demonic sect.
At this moment, eight or nine people were standing under the tower, all elite guards who usually watched over the Shura Tower. For many years, this tower had never been targeted for destruction, so those guarding it had become numb from idleness. Today, with the sudden upheaval in the Barbaric Sacred Hall, they could clearly see what was happening at the Shura Tower. In an instant, all the guards became tense, and some began to call out to keep a close watch on the Shura Tower.
Unexpectedly, amidst the ongoing chaos, with flames and shouts of battle echoing from important halls like the Sermon Hall and Reincarnation Hall, no one even glanced at the Shura Tower. Like the front Main Hall, the Shura Tower remained unusually calm amidst the turmoil, seemingly forgotten by everyone.
The guards under the Shura Tower exchanged glances, recognizing the helplessness in each other's eyes. They never expected that even with external enemies invading, this dilapidated tower would be overlooked. After a moment, someone spoke up: “Things are so urgent over there; perhaps we should go help?”
Immediately, another person rejected this suggestion: “That won't do. Our duty is to guard this tower. What if someone sneaks an attack on the Shura Tower?”
Someone nearby scoffed: “Who would come here?”
Another replied: “Still, it wouldn’t be right.”
After a moment, a seasoned guard spoke up: “Enough. The Sermon Hall and Reincarnation Hall are too far from us. Even if we went, it would be of no use. It’s better to stay here and not cause trouble. If someone directly attacks the Main Hall, that’s much closer; we might as well assist then.”
The guards nodded in agreement, clearly finding this suggestion reasonable. However, one person sighed and said: “That seems unlikely. Just look at who is standing in that Main Hall. They are all elite masters of our Holy Sect, including the leaders of the three major sects and three former Holy Envoys. Who would dare provoke them…”
Just as these guards were discussing among themselves, suddenly a clear whistle echoed through the air. Under the bright sun and clear sky, a white figure descended directly in front of the Main Hall of the Barbaric Sacred Hall.
Before anyone could clearly see who had arrived, they only saw a flash of white as that person darted to the entrance of the Main Hall, delivering swift strikes with both hands and feet that sent two guards stationed at the entrance tumbling into the hall like rolling gourds, instantly shocking everyone present.
Inside and outside the Sanctuary, there was a moment of silence. Then came a clear and hearty laugh as a handsome man with sword-like eyebrows appeared at the entrance of the Main Hall. His robe fluttered elegantly as he stood confidently with a green divine weapon in hand, looking at everyone and waving his hand while laughing heartily: “Brothers, it has been a long time since we parted ways!”
In the great hall, a sudden uproar erupted.
On one side of Demon Mountain, several dozen feet away from Shura Tower, a lush tree had quietly concealed Azure Pine, who was tightly pressed against the thick trunk. With a solemn expression, he peered through the dense green leaves, intently watching the guards below Shura Tower.
He had maintained this position for a long time. Perhaps at this distance, slight movements would not be noticed by the guards at Shura Tower, but Azure Pine remained tense and motionless.
When the distant flames ignited, his body trembled slightly. As shouts of battle and increasingly more fire erupted from the many halls of Barbaric Sacred Hall, Azure Pine's face turned pale. Anxiety filled his eyes as he fixated on Shura Tower, subconsciously murmuring, "Go, go, hurry up!"
However, the guards at Shura Tower turned to gaze into the distance, discussing among themselves. Some even appeared to want to leave but were pulled back by others.
Azure Pine's heart sank. He gripped the trunk tightly, not even noticing that he had scratched the bark with his fingers.
The distant flames and battle cries seemed far away, yet Azure Pine felt as if the flames were scorching his chest and that the bloodshed was someone cutting into his flesh with a sword. He looked into the distance where numerous Demonic Cult Monsters surged forward. At the end of that crowd, although he could not see clearly, it felt as if shadows reflected in his eyes—there were only three people.
Countless vicious thugs might surround his Three Junior Brothers at any moment. The thought that they might have already been discovered and were now fighting fiercely, bleeding, or even risking their lives to hold off those ruthless Demonic Cult Monsters made Azure Pine feel as if all the blood in his body was about to ignite. Yet while they bled and fought desperately, he could only remain on this safe tree and watch…
A terrifying thought lingered in his mind. He was not afraid of death; he feared nothing—not even falling into hellfire. What terrified him was that when his companions fought valiantly to their deaths for him, he would still accomplish nothing and fail to meet their expectations.
He screamed in his heart: "Go, go…"
But the people beneath Shura Tower still did not move.
Azure Pine felt the veins on his forehead throb rapidly, almost unable to contain the urge to charge out at that moment. Just then, a white figure suddenly appeared, like a divine soldier descending, in front of the Demon Cult Holy Temple.
After glancing intentionally or unintentionally towards Shura Tower, Ten Thousand Swords in One let out a long howl, drew his sword, and with the Dragon Slayer in hand, he instantly unleashed a myriad of Azure Light. With sword energy surging, he strode forward fearlessly into the main hall where dozens of the strongest experts of the Demon Cult were gathered.
Moments later, an uproar erupted inside and outside the hall, with countless furious roars and violent howls merging with an endless storm that seemed ready to tear the space apart. Under Shura Tower, everyone turned pale.
The guards exchanged glances, and after looking at the imposing hall just over a hundred yards away, someone shouted. In an instant, everyone drew their weapons and charged angrily towards that direction.
Azure Pine watched the distant white figure, carefree and fearless. Even if there was an endless abyss ahead, it seemed unable to stop him. In the emerald sword light, he charged directly into the raging storm. Azure Pine's eyes turned red in an instant as he let out a fierce low growl, forcing himself to look away with all his strength before fixing his gaze on Shura Tower several dozen yards away.
He shouted in his heart: “Azure Pine! If you can't do it, then die!”
The silent vow thundered in his mind as he descended from the tree and stealthily approached Shura Tower along a pre-planned path.

The emerald sword light surged wildly as Ten Thousand Swords in One advanced straight in. The crowd could only see the sweeping sword light spreading like a flood tide, roaring like thunder and surging like a tempest. With a single strike, it seemed to engulf everyone in the hall. Each person felt as if they were about to be targeted by this wild and unruly sword light, causing everyone to retreat.
With one person and one sword, Ten Thousand Swords in One truly launched an attack against these dozens of Demon Cult experts. His courage and the strength of his sword energy were indeed terrifying.
However, among these dozens of people within the Sanctuary, almost all were elite experts of the Demon Cult, each possessing extraordinary skills. How could they be easily dealt with?
Initially caught off guard by Ten Thousand Swords in One's overwhelming strike that forced them back, more than ten people immediately roared in anger and summoned their magical treasures and weapons to counterattack against Ten Thousand Swords in One.
Behind the crowd, when Ten Thousand Swords in One appeared, the figure clad in black with a veil covering her face, Zhuque, trembled slightly, her eyes revealing an expression of utter shock. Her beautiful eyes were fixed tightly on Ten Thousand Swords in One, as if she could not believe what she was seeing even at this moment. However, everything before her was evidently real. Ten Thousand Swords in One laughed heartily, and even though he was surrounded by a large group of demonic sect masters, he still appeared composed and graceful.
A Dragon Slayer Sword amidst the myriad of Azure Light truly resembled a green dragon, swaying its head and tail while looking down upon the world, completely disregarding the enemies before him.
The attackers were all from the three major factions of the demonic sect. The three faction leaders stood by with furrowed brows, watching, while the three holy envoys of the demonic sect—Qinglong, Baihu, and Zhuque—did not intervene.
Beside Zhuque, Qinglong watched for a while before suddenly snorting softly. He lowered his voice to a level only Baihu and Zhuque could hear and said, “This person is named Ten Thousand Swords in One. He is a talented figure among the younger generation of the Azure Cloud Sect. I saw him during the Qingyun Battle. I never expected him to be so bold as to venture deep into the wilderness and even break into our Sanctuary.”
Baihu was furious and stepped forward, saying angrily, “Indeed, he is one of those lackeys from the Middle-earth Righteous Path. I will personally kill this scoundrel!”
Zhuque trembled beside them, but before she could speak, Qinglong had already grabbed Baihu while his eyes remained fixed on the battlefield.
Ten Thousand Swords in One, despite being besieged by many, for some reason appeared to be holding his ground. The emerald sword light shone brilliantly as he moved freely through the chaos, the sound of his strikes like thunder amidst a storm. Dressed in white with an air of elegance, he seemed calm and unhurried, moving with the grace of a war god.
After watching for a moment, Qinglong suddenly exclaimed in astonishment, “What’s going on? How has this person’s skills advanced so significantly in such a short time?”
In his heart, another voice roared: This person possesses such extraordinary talent; if he were to wield the Zhu Xian Ancient Sword in the future, who could possibly contend with him? Our Holy Sect is in grave danger!
(Come, witness the unparalleled demeanor of Ten Thousand Swords in One!)
