The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey
In the Sermon Hall, there is a statue of the Netherworld Holy Mother with a kind and gentle expression. Unlike the usual standing posture, this statue is seated on a large stone, surrounded by a multitude of birds and beasts playing around her, all raising their heads to listen. The scene is one of joy and celebration, depicting the Holy Mother preaching and guiding sentient beings.
Aside from this statue, the Sermon Hall is filled with countless bookshelves and boxes containing numerous ancient scrolls and texts. In the tranquil and serene passage of time, these texts enjoy the offerings alongside the Mother of the Underworld Statue, quietly passing down the knowledge contained within them to future generations.
However, today is marked by unusual events. Just as a previous fire was extinguished, it reignites once more. Amidst the flames, a short and stout figure rushes in, leaving a trail of Crimson Flame Sword Radiance in its wake, almost unstoppable. Bookshelves collapse with loud crashes, some even engulfed in flames.
Members of the demonic cult chase after him, filled with rage, shouting angrily as they dive towards Tian Buyi.
Yet Tian Buyi is quite slippery; he shows no intention of engaging these formidable foes. Instead, he nimbly darts around the Sermon Hall, weaving east and west.
The towering bookshelves create an ocean of books; he runs and jumps while pushing over several shelves in succession. The sound of crashing shelves echoes loudly as they topple over, causing a chain reaction that brings down multiple rows of bookshelves at once.
The commotion is truly astonishing. Amidst the thunderous noise, piles of ancient texts fall like garbage, papers flying everywhere. The sight of burning pages amidst the flames drives the members of the demonic cult to fury.
More and more masters from the demonic cult arrive at the Sermon Hall, but for a moment they hesitate to act. They dare not recklessly unleash their power, carefully avoiding those precious texts as they pursue that detestable fat man deeper into the hall.
Tian Buyi desperately escapes. Calculating the time, he figures his two companions outside must have also fled by now. He dares not linger any longer; scanning his surroundings, he rushes toward the back hall of the Sermon Hall, hoping to escape through there.
However, just as he takes a few steps forward, Tian Buyi suddenly stops in shock. He discovers that a group of over ten Demonic Cult Monsters has charged in from behind, blocking his way and surrounding him with fierce expressions and murderous intent.
With enemies in front and behind, even though Tian Buyi is resolute, his face pales at this moment. In desperation, he looks around and sees towering bookshelves everywhere. Suddenly inspired, he shouts lowly and leaps onto a nearby bookshelf, climbing up swiftly.
The bookshelf towers high, nearly reaching the ceiling of the hall. The pursuing Demonic Cult Monsters follow closely behind him without hesitation. As he reaches the top of the shelf, he suddenly lets out a long howl; his Crimson Flame Sword bursts forth from its sheath as he merges with it and shoots upward.
"Boom!"
With a loud crash, a red light bursts from the top of the Sermon Hall. Tian Buyi, somewhat disheveled but full of momentum, soars into the air without pausing to wipe off dirt from his face. Hearing angry roars rising like tidal waves beneath him, he dares not linger but quickly glances at his direction before flying away into the distance.
"Whoosh..." Almost immediately after, there is a tremendous noise from above as several holes are smashed open in the roof. A large group of enraged demonic cult masters rushes onto the roof and then shouts angrily as they chase after that fat man fleeing for his life.

In stark contrast to the chaotic scene filled with fire and murderous intent at the Barbaric Sacred Hall, far away over a hundred feet from it at Shura Tower, everything appears unusually calm—like a solitary island amidst a raging storm. If someone were to stand beneath Shura Tower, they would even see that fierce battles are also taking place within the towering Main Hall. A white figure moves swiftly among dozens of demonic cult masters wielding green sword lights like mountains and peaks in combat that leaves one astonished.
At this moment, beneath the Shura Tower, there was not a soul in sight. After a brief pause, a gray figure suddenly appeared like a ghost from the shadows behind the Shura Tower; it was Azure Pine.
He silently swept to the base of the Shura Tower, and his first reaction was to glance at the grand hall over a hundred feet away. The battle there was incredibly fierce; although the emerald sword light was sharp beyond compare, there were faint signs of being suppressed.
Azure Pine's heart sank, feeling as if he had a thorn in his back. He dared not hesitate for even a moment and quickly looked toward the direction of the Shura Tower.
When he had previously spied on the Shura Tower, fearing detection by members of the Demonic Cult, everyone from Azure Cloud Sect had been observing from a distance. At that time, they only thought it was a strangely shaped stone tower. It wasn't until he arrived right in front of it that Azure Pine suddenly realized that while its shape remained bizarre, the material of this Shura Tower seemed somewhat different from what he had imagined before.
The tower appeared to lack any distinction between its base and body, appearing as a single entity with many twisted and inverted sections, entirely unlike an ordinary stone tower. In terms of material, it initially looked like it was built from solid, rough gray stone, but upon closer inspection, it felt cold to the touch and seemed to have a metallic luster—neither stone nor metal, yet incredibly hard.
At this moment, Azure Pine could not afford to discern what material it truly was; his fellow disciples were currently fighting desperately, risking everything to buy him even a second more. Each one felt like a bloody weight on his heart.
He drew his personal celestial sword and gathered his spiritual energy, causing the sword light to flare up as he slashed directly at it.
With a loud bang, the celestial sword bounced aside while the blade trembled violently, buzzing incessantly. This strike, which concentrated all his cultivation, failed to cut through the tower's body and only left a scar about a foot long and an inch deep on the Shura Tower.
Azure Pine was taken aback; for a moment, he felt lost and his heart sank further. The hardness of this Shura Tower was truly unfathomable. He knew that with his cultivation level combined with the sharpness of his celestial sword, he could usually slice through any hard stone without issue. Yet this Shura Tower had withstood his attack.
Thoughts raced through Azure Pine's mind. Suddenly gritting his teeth in determination during this critical moment, he could not care about much else. He exhaled sharply and pushed his cultivation to its limits before recklessly attacking the Shura Tower like a storm.
The sounds of clashing echoed loudly as the Shura Tower endured multiple heavy strikes from him, instantly acquiring over ten intersecting scars on its surface with sparks flying everywhere.
However, despite how battered the Shura Tower appeared, overall it remained almost completely unscathed and showed no signs of collapsing. Azure Pine stopped in despair; his face turned pale in an instant.
At the same time, in front of the Barbaric Sacred Hall, amidst roaring sounds and flames burning everywhere, shouts of battle rang out in unison. Countless curses from Demonic Cult Monsters such as "Kill him!" and "Tear him apart!" mixed into the chaos; each phrase felt like a bloody knife stabbing into Azure Pine's chest.
Images of those distant battle scenes flooded uncontrollably through his mind as he imagined his four brothers surrounded by numerous masters of the Demonic Cult attacking them frantically. Countless gleaming blades seemed to be swinging wildly amidst torrents of blood while he felt utterly helpless!
Sweat poured down his forehead like beans; Azure Pine gasped heavily like an ox, bloodshot eyes fixed on this wicked stone tower as countless thoughts raced through his mind.
"What to do? What to do? What to do..." he shouted frantically in his heart while desperately recalling every scene related to this Shura Tower that he had seen over these days. Meanwhile, in a corner of Sanctuary, someone suddenly seemed to sense something and turned to run toward the hall entrance, peering toward the Shura Tower.
Beneath the Shura Tower, Azure Pine's body trembled slightly; just as darkness enveloped him completely, suddenly a flash of light surged through his mind as he envisioned a scenario.
Kneeling beneath the Shura Tower, the Azure Dragon made a strange gesture before pouring the ashes of the Demon Cult Leader amidst all the bizarre rituals.
It seemed he took a large bowl and splashed it towards the tower.
Blood!
Fresh blood...
The Azure Pine awaited this oddly shaped high tower, and suddenly let out a low roar, his eyes filled with madness. He abruptly reversed the blade of his sword and without hesitation cut through his arm. Instantly, a spray of fresh blood shot out, splattering onto the strange tower that was neither stone nor metal.
The crimson blood adhered to the Shura Tower as Azure Pine stared intently. After a moment, he suddenly saw the blood begin to writhe and then seep into the tower. Near where the bloodstains were, there was a sword mark that Azure Pine had previously made. After the red blood seeped into that sword mark, suddenly a section of stone loosened and fell away, causing the entire Shura Tower to tremble violently.
Azure Pine's body shook with excitement. Just as he was about to take action, he suddenly heard a roar from above. He looked up in shock and saw an endless shadow appearing out of nowhere beneath the sky, deep and dark like an inverted abyss, descending upon him.
An indescribable terrifying aura seemed ready to tear him apart.
In his confusion, beneath the Shura Tower, Azure Pine suddenly saw a glimmer of light in that darkness. Then he uttered hoarsely, "Mingyuan!"
