The Legend of the Immortals Prequel: Wilderness Journey
At this moment, in the distance, the Poison God laughed heartily and clapped his hands, saying, "Arrogant fool, let's see what you can do now!"
A strange screech echoed from the left arm of Ten Thousand Swords in One, followed by a bizarre centipede taking flight and swiftly heading towards the Poison God.
Ten Thousand Swords in One felt a sinking sensation in his heart; in that fleeting moment, he realized that it was a rare and highly toxic creature. The paralyzing feeling surged like lightning, racing along his arm towards his heart.
He let out a low shout and suddenly turned to face Zhuque. Zhuque was startled, but her sword stance remained unchanged. Moments later, a muffled sound was heard, and the Main Hall fell silent.
The Blood Flower flashed by, leaving everyone stunned. The White-Clad Man, who had been like a war god charging through the battlefield, was suddenly struck down by Zhuque's sword in mid-air. His entire left arm was severed at the shoulder, blood gushing forth and staining half of his body red.
In that moment, even Zhuque was taken aback. Although Ten Thousand Swords in One turned pale, he displayed an incredible willpower as he burst into laughter. Unexpectedly, he did not retreat but advanced directly towards Zhuque.
Zhuque seemed frozen in shock and did not react for a moment.
Below, Qinglong and Baihu both shouted in alarm, but Ten Thousand Swords in One did not strike hard against Zhuque. Instead, he suddenly smiled slightly and reached out with his only remaining right arm to lift the black veil from Zhuque's face for a glance.
"Indeed a stunning beauty!"
The White-Clad Man laughed heartily, lowered the veil, and stepped back.
Zhuque stood there dazed; at that moment, her mind felt blank yet filled with thoughts. All she could see was the singular visage of the White-Clad Man, leaving no room for anything else.
Ten Thousand Swords in One fell to the ground, and before he could steady himself, he swung his sword and charged outward. How could the members of the Demon Sect allow him to escape so recklessly? They roared in anger and surrounded him, ready to block his path. Just then, a thunderous sound echoed from afar, and the previously dark sky suddenly brightened.
The Mingyuan hanging above trembled and began to blur gradually. Even though the darkness within roared and howled in resentment, it was unable to reverse the situation. Beneath this Mingyuan, the Shura Tower seemed to have reached its final moments; the blood flowing from Azure Pine had completely soaked the entire tower. Large chunks of stone crumbled and fell, and finally, with a loud crash, this peculiar high tower collapsed.
At the moment of the Shura Tower's collapse, strange phenomena occurred: first, the phantom of Mingyuan shook violently, countless wails filling the air. But suddenly, amidst the fierce winds, all darkness crazily condensed into a single point and then instantly dissipated into thin air. Following this, as the Shura Tower crashed down, several massive cracks suddenly appeared around its remnants, radiating outwards from its original base. Soon after, numerous fine cracks emerged around these fissures, spreading wildly in all directions.
The entire Demon Mountain shook violently; then the peaks split open as countless cracks extended at an incredible speed. Wherever they passed, stones fell and sand sank with a thunderous roar, as if the mountain god of Demon Mountain had erupted in fury, unleashing a terrifying roar towards the mortal realm!
This earth-shattering phenomenon was terrifying. Amidst the gasps of shock from the members of the Demon Sect, even those two statues of Holy Mother Ming Wang showed dozens of large cracks...
As they watched the statues teetering on the brink of collapse, the members of the Demon Sect were left speechless in horror.
The ground trembled wildly; countless falling rocks cascaded down Demon Mountain, resembling an apocalyptic scene. Taking advantage of this chaos and the panic among the members of the Demon Sect, Ten Thousand Swords in One staggered out and made a beeline for the Shura Tower. In no time, he reached the base of the tower and saw Azure Pine collapsed on it, unconscious.
Ten Thousand Swords in One took a deep breath and bent down to grab Azure Pine, but suddenly felt a jolt as his left arm's wound tore open again, blood gushing forth. He felt darkness closing in on him and gasped heavily; however, distant shouts echoed again behind him—clearly, pursuers from the Demon Sect were closing in.
With gritted teeth, Ten Thousand Swords in One sheathed his Dragon Slayer Sword, grabbed Azure Pine's body with his right hand and leaned him against his shoulder. He then noticed several deep wounds on Azure Pine's chest that exposed bone; his entire chest was a bloody mess. Looking at the bloodstains on the remnants of the tower, Ten Thousand Swords in One seemed to understand something and nodded slightly: "Well done!"
Uncertain if it was due to the tremors, Azure Pine slowly regained consciousness and immediately spotted Ten Thousand Swords in One, his face lighting up with surprise as he exclaimed: "Wan Shixiong, I..."
Before he could finish speaking, his gaze swept over to Ten Thousand Swords in One's left arm. His expression changed drastically as he cried out: "Wan Shixiong, your left hand?"
Ten Thousand Swords in One laughed heartily; although his complexion was pale, he carried Azure Pine directly down the mountain while saying: "It's just an injury; a mere arm is nothing to worry about!"
Azure Pine's lips moved slightly as he tried to struggle free and get down. However, as soon as he attempted to move, he felt utterly weak and found that he had no strength left at all.
Ten Thousand Swords in One said in a deep voice, "Junior Brother, you have lost too much blood and are severely injured. You cannot move now, just stay put."
Azure Pine was stunned for a moment but was unwilling to let his already one-armed and equally injured senior brother carry him. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly trembled and cried out, "Senior Brother's heart!"
A fierce wind rushed from behind, accompanied by the booming sounds erupting all over Demon Mountain, almost like the roar of a giant beast, striking close by in an instant. Ten Thousand Swords in One was caught off guard, feeling a sudden impact from behind; his throat tasted sweetness as he spat out another mouthful of blood.
On the mountain path behind them, the two powerful figures, Qinglong and Poison God, charged out, followed closely by Baihu, who was madly pursuing them. Baihu roared angrily, seemingly burning with rage, shouting, "Leave your life here!"
As if to echo Baihu's roar, the entire Demon Mountain trembled violently. Then, a tremendous sound erupted from deep within the distant mountain body. A peak split apart with a thunderous crash, and a massive stream of scorching lava shot into the sky, forming a terrifying black-red mushroom cloud in midair. Thick black smoke billowed forth, and an incredibly strong sulfuric smell spread everywhere.
Ten Thousand Swords in One snorted coldly, ignoring the sudden volcanic eruption. His right hand tightly gripped Azure Pine, unable to draw his sword—perhaps he didn't even know if he had the strength left to do so. He did not look back but held onto Azure Pine tightly and fled down the mountain.
In the meantime, the mountain continued to tremble; large boulders rolled down incessantly, and countless sparks fell from midair into the searing red lava below, forcing them to dodge everywhere.
Thus formed a scene where three powerful demonic sect experts pursued while Ten Thousand Swords in One fled in panic with the blood-drained Azure Pine.
The outcome was almost inevitable. Although various phenomena obstructed them at this moment, those three were already highly skilled experts. With Ten Thousand Swords in One severely injured and carrying an additional burden of Azure Pine, it became even more difficult for him. Before long, they were caught up by the three.
With a low shout from Poison God, a gray palm print materialized in midair and came crashing down.
Azure Pine stared back helplessly as his eyelids twitched; he could only watch as that gray palm print smashed directly onto Ten Thousand Swords in One's back.
With a low grunt, Ten Thousand Swords in One was violently shaken and flew forward several feet. In midair, Azure Pine even heard several cracking sounds that seemed like bones breaking.
However, after stumbling a few steps and nearly collapsing, Ten Thousand Swords in One suddenly steadied himself. Though his body swayed several times afterward, he remained silent and held onto Azure Pine's hand firmly as if it were unshakeable. He continued to carry him down the mountain without hesitation.
The three top experts of the Vision Demon Sect were like nothing in this moment, which further enraged them. In an instant, various attacks surged like a tide towards Ten Thousand Swords in One. Ten Thousand Swords in One could only rely on the terrain and his agility to evade as much as possible, but at this moment, he was completely powerless to fight back. Under such immense pressure, he could not avoid the attacks coming from behind him. Before long, loud thuds echoed continuously as Ten Thousand Swords in One suffered several more impacts.
Azure Pine, who was slung over his shoulder, was now furious and struggled desperately, his voice turning hoarse as he cried out, "Wan Shixiong, put me down!"
Ten Thousand Swords in One turned a deaf ear to Azure Pine's struggles and continued to run with him. However, just a few steps later, a heavy punch came rushing from behind, striking hard against Ten Thousand Swords in One's back.
Hearing the wind whoosh, Ten Thousand Swords in One barely managed to shift his body due to the violent tremors of Demon Mountain but still could not completely evade the terrifying force of the punch. With a loud bang, he was sent flying again.
He rolled and tumbled before crashing onto the filthy ground, his white clothes turning black and gray from the dust, and even Azure Pine fell to the ground.
In this moment of distress for Ten Thousand Swords in One, he no longer resembled the elegant figure he once was; even his mind seemed somewhat hazy, as if he could not discern direction while trying to get up only to fall again. His body trembled, but suddenly he let out a low roar, bit his tongue hard, and shook his head vigorously. Immediately after, his eyes regained clarity and determination.
He glanced around and then rushed towards Azure Pine, stumbling over to his side. With his only arm—the one that was still trembling—he lifted Azure Pine up again and slung him over his shoulder. Then, amidst the swirling black dust and the flickering sparks of fire, he persistently charged down the mountain.
In mid-air, Azure Pine's face was drenched in tears, with blood even seeping from the corners of his eyes. He cried out with a heart-wrenching voice towards Ten Thousand Swords in One, "Let me die! You go on, Wan Shixiong! Let me die, let me die..."
Under the clear sky, the boy's voice was tragic and piercing, treating life and death as inconsequential. It lingered for a long time, echoing throughout Between the Earth.
