Leonard angrily pushed open the door, and what met his eyes was Aelia sitting by the Cradle, humming a gentle lullaby.
Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on her serene face, as if time had never left a mark on her.
Inside the Cradle, Luna waved her tiny hands, laughing joyfully, nearly drooling in her excitement.
This was Leonard's Last Night, warm and beautiful, yet it pierced his heart with a pang of pain.
"What are you doing here?" Aelia lifted her head, her gaze calm but tinged with an almost imperceptible distance.
"I... I just came to see Luna," Leonard replied, his tone somewhat stiff. He forced a smile, trying to ease the tension in the air.
But Luna seemed to intentionally disrupt the moment; she suddenly stopped laughing and turned her head, fixing her bright black eyes on Leonard.
Those eyes were so clear they seemed capable of piercing through one's soul, yet so profound they appeared to understand everything.
Leonard felt a wave of guilt wash over him. He couldn't bear to meet Luna's gaze and quickly looked away.
"Luna is very well-behaved; you don't need to worry about her," Aelia said lightly, her tone laced with mockery.
Leonard felt a surge of irritation but suppressed his anger, forcing himself to say patiently, "Aelia, is there some misunderstanding between us? I..."
"Misunderstanding?" Aelia interrupted him with a light laugh. "Perhaps so; perhaps everything is just my illusion."
She lowered her head and continued to play with Luna as if Leonard didn't exist at all.
Luna's tiny hand grasped Aelia's hem, babbling sweetly as if trying to comfort her.
A warm current surged in Aelia's heart as she gently stroked Luna's little face, her gaze soft as water.
"Luna, tell me, is there really such a thing as love that never changes in this world?" Aelia asked softly, as if inquiring of Luna or perhaps herself.
Of course, Luna couldn't answer; she simply laughed joyfully as if saying, "Of course there is, Mommy!"
A wave of bittersweet emotion surged within Aelia. She held Luna tightly, as if wanting to merge her into her very being.
Leonard stood to the side, watching the affectionate interaction between mother and daughter, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within him.
He wanted to say something, but found himself unable to utter a word.
It felt as though there was an insurmountable chasm between him and Aelia.
"I have things to attend to, so I'll be leaving now," Leonard said, before turning and exiting the room.
Aelia watched his retreating figure, her expression complex and inscrutable.
"Qin Si," she called softly.
"Madam, I am here," a woman dressed in plain attire appeared silently behind Aelia.
"Find out what the master has been doing lately, who he has been meeting. The more detailed, the better," Aelia's tone was calm but carried an undeniable authority.
"Yes, Madam." Qin Si accepted the order and vanished into thin air like a wraith.
Aelia looked down at Luna in her arms.
"Luna, why did you tell me these things? What do you really know?"
Luna simply blinked her large innocent eyes at her mother, as if to say, "I don't know anything, Mommy!"
A few days later, Qin Si returned with a thick stack of documents and entered Aelia's room.
"Madam, everything has been investigated," Qin Si said in a subdued tone as she placed the documents on the table.
Aelia picked up the files and began to read through them carefully.
As her gaze moved across the pages, her complexion grew increasingly pale.
The documents detailed Leonard's various interactions with a woman named Lily.
They had met five years ago when Aelia was pregnant with Brother San Lucius.
They often met in a small cottage outside the city, and Leonard had bought Lily many precious jewels and clothes.
Even more shocking, Lily was pregnant with Leonard's child!
Aelia's hands began to tremble as she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.
She had always believed that she and Leonard were truly in love.
They had weathered countless storms together, built the Glorious Demon Fortress side by side, and raised three outstanding sons.
She thought their love was unbreakable, capable of withstanding any test.
But now, she realized that it had all been a beautiful lie.
Her husband, her lover, had betrayed her!
Her world collapsed in an instant.
"Madam, are you alright?" Qin Si asked with concern.
Aelia lifted her head, her gaze hollow as she looked at Qin Si, as if she had lost her soul.
"Why? Why would he do this to me?" Aelia's voice was hoarse and filled with despair.
"Madam, please take care of yourself!" Qin Si said, heartbroken as he watched Aelia. He wanted to comfort her but found himself at a loss for words.
Suddenly, Aelia stood up and walked out.
"Madam, where are you going?" Qin Si asked hurriedly.
"I’m going to find him. I need to know what’s going on!" Aelia's voice was filled with anger and determination.
Furious, she stormed into Leonard's study and kicked the door open.
"Leonard! Get out here!" Aelia roared.
Leonard was in his study reviewing documents when he was startled by Aelia's voice.
"Aelia, what are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" Leonard asked, frowning.
"Lost my mind? Leonard, how can you even ask me that? You know exactly what you've done!" Aelia glared at Leonard.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about," Leonard said, feeling a bit guilty.
"Don't know? Fine, then I'll make you know!" Aelia slammed the documents from In Hand onto Leonard's face.
The papers scattered on the floor, revealing several disturbing photographs.
In the photos, Leonard was seen embracing a young and beautiful woman, their actions intimate.
Leonard's face turned pale instantly.
"You... you actually had someone follow me?" Leonard said angrily, his embarrassment turning to rage.
"Follow you? Leonard, you did something shameful and you're afraid of being found out?" Aelia scoffed.
"Aelia, let me explain. It's not what you think..." Leonard tried to defend himself.
"Explain? What is there to explain? The evidence is right in front of you; do you still want to deny it?" Aelia interrupted him, her tone icy.
"Leonard, I must have been blind to fall in love with someone like you!" Aelia exclaimed as she turned and left the study, leaving Leonard standing there in shock.
At that moment, while Aelia and Leonard's relationship was crumbling, Luna was not idle either.
In her little head, she was plotting how to help her brothers out of their predicament.
That day, her eldest brother sat in his wheelchair as usual, soaking up the sun in the garden.
Ever since he had been affected by the Magic Backlash and became disabled with Twin Legs, he had grown silent and withdrawn, moping around all day.
Luna had Qin Si push her elder brother into the garden. She babbled happily, reaching out her small hand to touch his face.
Her brother looked at Luna's innocent smile, feeling a warmth swell in his heart.
He extended his hand and gently caressed Luna's little face.
"Luna, you truly are a little angel," he said softly.
Suddenly, Luna stopped smiling and fixed her bright, dark eyes on him.
That gaze seemed to penetrate his heart, knowing all his pain and helplessness.
"Woo... ah ah..." Luna suddenly began to cry.
"Luna, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" he asked hurriedly.
While crying, Luna pointed at her brother's leg with her tiny finger.
"Are you saying that my leg can still be healed?" he asked, a bit excited.
Luna stopped crying and nodded vigorously.
His heart began to race as disbelief washed over him.
His leg had been disabled for so many years; he had seen countless doctors and tried countless remedies, all without any effect.
He had long given up hope, believing he would spend his life in a wheelchair.
But now, Luna was telling him that his leg could still be healed?
It felt like a fairy tale!
"Luna, how... how do you know this?" he asked in confusion.
Of course, Luna couldn't answer him; she just laughed as if to say, "I just know! Do you believe me?"
The elder brother looked at Luna's innocent and adorable appearance, filled with both doubt and anticipation.
He didn't know where Luna had learned this information, but he was willing to believe her.
Because he knew that Luna was a remarkable child.
"Luna, tell me, what should I do to heal my leg?" he asked earnestly.
Luna extended her small hand and gestured in the air as if drawing some kind of pattern.
The elder brother watched her movements closely, and gradually, he seemed to understand something.
"Are you saying I need to use the Magic Element to guide it?" he asked tentatively.
Luna nodded vigorously.
Taking a deep breath, the elder brother closed his eyes and began to meditate.
He focused his mind, feeling the surrounding Magic Element, trying to channel it into his leg.
However, he hadn't used magic in a long time, and his magical power had become very weak.
He tried for a long time without any effect.
Doubt began to creep into his heart; he wondered if he had been deceived by Luna.
But when he opened his eyes and saw the encouraging look in Luna's eyes, hope reignited within him.
He gritted his teeth and continued to strive.
Again and again, he tried, failing over and over.
Sweat beaded on his forehead, and his body grew weaker by the moment.
Yet, he still refused to give up.
Finally, after countless attempts, he felt a faint surge of magic beginning to flow through his legs.
His body trembled slightly as a tingling sensation spread across his legs.
He opened his eyes in astonishment, realizing that his legs had actually moved just a little!
His heart was filled with joy; he knew he had succeeded!
He continued to concentrate, guiding the Magic Element to repair his damaged Meridian.
As time passed, the tingling in his legs intensified, and he found himself able to move them with increasing agility.
At last, he was able to stand up!
He stood shakily, feeling the ground beneath his feet.
Tears of excitement welled up in his eyes.
It had been so long since he had stood; he had almost forgotten what it felt like.
He opened his arms wide, embracing the entire world.
"I... I can finally stand!" he shouted excitedly.
His voice echoed through the garden, filled with joy and gratitude.
Qin Si watched this scene unfold beside him, tears streaming down her face in excitement.
Luna looked at her brother's ecstatic expression and laughed joyfully, as if saying, "I told you so! You could do it!"
With a proud smile, Luna's dark eyes twinkled as she glanced into the distance...
"Ugh... eh... ah..." Luna babbled incoherently, pointing her little finger towards Second Brother's room, seemingly hinting at something.
Qin Si looked at Aelia in confusion, waiting for her guidance.
Luna's chubby little hand, resembling a piece of tender lotus root, pointed towards Second Brother's room as she babbled in incomprehensible baby talk.
Yet, Aelia and Qin Si miraculously understood her meaning.
Second Brother had been trapped in a Magic Circle for several months.
His once brilliant talent, like a shooting star, had been ensnared by the "help" of a close friend, caught in a trap that seemed to enhance power but actually devoured magical energy.
He was growing increasingly emaciated, his eyes dimmed, and the once vibrant spirit within him resembled a riverbed drained of water, leaving only the parched Ice Cracks behind.
Luna was carried into Second Brother's room by Qin Si.
The room was filled with a faint herbal scent, mixed with the unique aroma produced by the fluctuations of Magic Element, reminiscent of the damp earth in a forest after rain.
Second Brother lay on the bed, his complexion pale and his lips cracked.
Upon seeing Luna, he managed to force a smile that looked more painful than sorrowful.
"Ah... ugh..." Luna extended her small hand, tracing intricate Tracks in the air as if depicting the patterns of the Magic Circle.
Wherever her little hand passed, visible ripples seemed to emerge in the air, signs of the Magic Element being stirred.
At first, Second Brother paid no attention, thinking it was just his sister playing around.
But as Luna's movements grew more complex, his expression shifted from confusion to shock.
What she was illustrating was the core part of the Magic Circle that bound him!
How could such a tiny baby know these things?
After completing the final symbol, Luna clenched her small fist tightly as if shattering the entire Magic Circle.
At that moment, she clearly uttered a series of Broken Syllables: "Break!"
With a crackling sound, Second Brother felt the restraints on his power suddenly vanish. A refreshing sensation coursed through his body, and his withered source of magic seemed to be infused with new vitality.
He suddenly sat up, unable to believe the surge of magic flowing within him once more.
He looked at Luna.
"Luna... how did you know?" The voice of Second Brother trembled, filled with the relief of having survived a catastrophe.
Luna simply smiled, waving her little hand as if to say, "It's a secret!"
Second Brother gazed at Luna, his eyes filled with determination.
He understood that Luna had not only saved his life but also given him the courage to start anew.
He vowed to uncover the identity of the "close friend" who had betrayed him and seek justice!
Next, Luna turned her attention to Brother San.
Brother San was a genius hindered by his false Magical Talent.
From a young age, he had displayed a strong affinity for magic but mistakenly believed it was a sign of innate talent, neglecting the hard work required for cultivation.
He was like a proud peacock, enamored with flaunting his feathers while forgetting how to fly.
When Luna found Brother San, he was admiring his Magic Halo in front of the mirror.
The Halo was indeed dazzling and beautiful, yet superficial and as fragile as a soap bubble.
Luna pointed at Brother San, her little face scrunched up in discontent, making dissatisfied "hm hm" sounds as if criticizing his laziness.
Initially, Brother San paid no mind, thinking it was just his sister's antics.
But when he saw the changes in his older brother and Second Brother, he began to reflect seriously.
His brother's leg had healed, Second Brother's magic had returned, yet he remained stagnant.
He finally became aware that Luna was not just playing around; she was trying to awaken him.
He looked at Luna and understood that she was helping him find the right path in her own way.
He decided that from now on, he would focus on his training and no longer be deceived by false Magical Talent!
Leonard was furious to learn that Luna had meddled in family affairs.
He stormed into Luna's room, ready to give her a piece of his mind.
"You little brat, how dare you interfere in my matters!" Leonard's voice was rough and grating.
Aelia heard the commotion and hurried over, shielding Luna behind her.
"Leonard, what are you doing? She's just a child!" Aelia's voice was cold and firm.
"A child? She's not an ordinary child! She..." Leonard tried to continue, but Aelia interrupted him.
"Enough! Leonard, just leave. I don't want to see you anymore." Aelia's voice was filled with disgust and disappointment.
Leonard glared at Aelia.
He shot a fierce look at Luna before turning and leaving the room.
Within the Magic Castle, rumors about Luna began to spread like wildfire.
Some said she was the reincarnation of the Magic Goddess, while others claimed she was a prophet with the gift of foresight.
The atmosphere in the Magic Castle grew increasingly tense as everyone sensed a storm brewing.
Lucius, the Third Young Master of the Glorious Demon Fortress and Luna's half-brother, sought her out.
"Luna, you're amazing!" Lucius exclaimed, his voice filled with admiration.
Luna simply smiled with laughter, as if to say, "It's nothing special!"
Suddenly, a series of urgent hoofbeats echoed from the castle exterior, shattering the brief tranquility.
Luna's small face grew serious as she gazed out the window, her dark eyes shimmering with an unusual light.
"They're coming..." Luna whispered, her voice clear enough to reach Lucius's ears.
The glow of magic illuminated the towering spires of the Glorious Demon Fortress, yet it could not conceal the undercurrents of tension brewing within the fortress.
Luna, this seemingly soft and adorable infant, was observing the situation that she was about to stir with her eyes that seemed to see through everything.
Aelia, the Lady of the Fortress, sat gracefully in the opulent hall, her exquisite makeup failing to mask the worry etched on her brow.
Her maid, Qin Si, stood cautiously by her side, not daring to breathe too loudly.
"Madam, you haven't eaten much all day," Qin Si's voice was as gentle as a feather.
Aelia waved her hand dismissively, her gaze falling upon a blooming Blood Rose outside the window—one that Leonard, her husband, had personally planted for her.
Once, she believed this Blood Rose symbolized their passionate and eternal loyalty to each other. But now...
"Qin Si, do you think a man... can really change?" Aelia's voice trembled slightly.
Qin Si's heart skipped a beat; having served Aelia for many years, she understood that there was more to her words than met the eye.
"Madam, everyone can see how much Master cares for you!"
Aelia let out a bitter smile; how she wished that were true.
Yet recent events had forced her to doubt.
Leonard was coming home later and later, and the cedar fragrance that once felt familiar was becoming increasingly strange. Then there were those evasive glances...
Just then, a faint sound of footsteps broke the silence in the hall.
Lucius, the Third Young Master of the Glorious Demon Fortress, walked in.
“Mother.” Lucius bowed respectfully, a hint of worry on his face. “Are you alright?”
Aelia forced a smile. “I’m fine, Xiusi. Did you come to see me for something?”
Lucius hesitated for a moment, seemingly weighing how to begin.
“Mother, I… I heard that Eldest Brother, Second Brother, and Brother San have not been doing well lately.”
Aelia’s expression darkened immediately.
She had three sons under her care, each gifted in their own right, but Eldest Brother had suffered a Magic Backlash that left him with crippled Twin Legs, confined to a Wheelchair; Second Brother was obsessed with studying Magic Circles but had been deceived by a close friend and fell into a Magic Dilemma; Brother San, despite his powerful Magical Talent, had become too arrogant and neglected his training, spending his days in idleness.
“I know,” Aelia said wearily. “But what can I do?”
At that moment, Luna, who had been held in Qin Si’s arms, suddenly stirred. She reached out her chubby little hand, pointing at Aelia and mumbling indistinctly, “Ma… Ma…”
Aelia paused for a moment before a gentle smile spread across her face.
She reached out and gently stroked Luna’s soft hair.
“Xiao Luna, you really are a little darling.”
Luna giggled, her big eyes sparkling with mischief.
She knew that the opportunity to change everything had arrived!
In the following days, Luna began to intentionally yet unintentionally “reveal” bits of information in front of Aelia.
She would babble while pointing at Leonard’s study and then at the Blood Rose in the garden, making a disgusted expression.
She would also deliberately mention unfamiliar names in front of Aelia and then pretend to cover her mouth with her little hand as if she had let something slip.
At first, Aelia paid no mind to it, thinking it was just the innocent behavior of a child.
However, as Luna revealed more information, Aelia began to harbor doubts in her heart.
She started to secretly investigate Leonard's whereabouts, and the results left her astonished...
Meanwhile, Luna had not forgotten her three brothers.
Using her knowledge of the storyline, she began to help them solve the Magic Dilemma.
She told her eldest brother that the direction of his magical research was flawed and guided him to seek new breakthroughs; she warned Second Brother to be cautious of those around him and not to trust others easily; she advised Brother San not to become complacent with his talents, emphasizing that only through diligent practice could he grow stronger.
Of course, Luna did not directly say these things; she merely used subtle hints and guidance to help her brothers discover the problems themselves and find solutions.
Through Luna's efforts, Aelia finally uncovered Leonard's betrayal, causing unrest within the Magic Castle.
At the same time, Luna's three brothers gradually overcame their predicaments and began to regain their confidence.
What changes will the Destiny of the Glorious Demon Fortress undergo with Luna's arrival?
Let us wait and see!
