"How about we have a match?" Ouyang picked up a basketball from the sidelines and walked over to me. "Sure, what are we playing for?" I stood up and slowly approached him. "Let's do a one-on-one challenge with defense and breakthrough, okay? We'll play in rounds. If one side misses a shot and the other grabs the rebound, they must dribble the ball outside the three-point line before attacking again. The first to score ten points wins, and we'll play a total of twenty rounds." Ouyang dribbled the ball. 0

"Alright, you can attack first; I'll defend you." I walked to the top of the arc and waited. Ouyang smiled as he dribbled towards me. "Here we go!" He started his offensive move, and I quickly got into defensive mode. 0

Ouyang controlled the ball and began to break through. I stayed close to him defensively. He made a quick change of direction, turned around, stepped back, and shot—a smooth jumper that went in! He walked over, smiled at me, and handed me the ball. "10, your turn." I caught the ball and moved outside the three-point line to prepare for my attack. I dribbled left and right while Ouyang stayed alert. After a moment of stalemate, I suddenly accelerated. Ouyang reacted quickly and followed me closely under the basket. I raised my arm high above his outstretched arm and shot from under his armpit—another score! "11, Brother Ouyang, well played." I tossed the ball back to him. 0

Ouyang quickly attacked under the basket again as I followed closely behind. He controlled the ball well as we faced off. Suddenly, he dribbled between my legs—what a slick move! He ran behind me to grab the ball and easily scored. 0

"Nice shot!" I couldn't help but compliment him as I regained control of the ball. At that moment, I suddenly wanted to try something unconventional and difficult. A sly smile crept across my face as I threw the ball high into the air while sprinting toward the paint. The ball bounced perfectly back into my hands just as Ouyang turned to defend against me. I jumped for a mid-range shot—success! After two bounces on the rim, it went in. It seemed Lady Luck was on my side this time. 0

Ouyang wasn't going to back down either; he dribbled to the free-throw line for a quick jumper. I tried to block it but couldn't reach in time, watching helplessly as he hit the backboard for a score. For my next attack, I lingered outside the three-point line until I reached zero degrees angle before faking a shot. Ouyang remained unfazed—did he know I wouldn't dare shoot from three? Fine, I'll show you! I jumped straight up for a three-pointer—and scored! "99," Ouyang had dragged the game into round twenty. 0

"Ouyang, your skills are impressive; I'm humbled," I joked as I clasped my fists together in mock respect. Ouyang said nothing as he brought the ball to the top of the arc to prepare for his final attack. I quickly moved over to defend against this last play. Ouyang ran outside the three-point line at a 45-degree angle before making a quick drive past me and tossing the ball over—another bounce pass! This trick again! This time, I was ready; with a swift motion, I intercepted it and dashed outside the three-point line before taking three quick steps forward to shoot! It went in! Yes! "109! I've won!" I raised my arms in triumph as I picked up the ball and placed it outside. 0

"I lost..." Ouyang sighed with a bitter smile, lowering his head as he sat down on the floor. "I always lose, whether it's this match or competing against others for Xia Ying's affection." He closed his eyes and faced the ceiling. 0

"Brother Ouyang, it's just a game; there's no need to take it too seriously. Besides, we should be evenly matched; I'm just luckier today," I said as I sat down beside him. 0

"Jie, I really like Xia Ying, so regardless of who wins her heart in the end, let's agree on two things: First, it won't affect our friendship; second, we will treat Xia Ying well and not make her sad. Can we?" Ouyang said earnestly. 0

I nodded vigorously in agreement. Ouyang extended his right hand toward me, and I did the same; our ten fingers intertwined tightly together. "Brother, I'll do it; I'll make sure of it." 0

As we left the gym with our arms around each other's shoulders, we saw Shuai Dong, Pang Hao, and A Fei waiting at the door. When they saw us come out, Shuai Dong approached us with excitement: "Hey! Did you finish your talk? I was hoping to rush in there to break up a fight!" 0

"How could we possibly fight? We're good friends," I said while giving Ouyang's shoulder a friendly squeeze. Ouyang smiled back at me; indeed, we were quite close. 0

Outside, it was still raining heavily as A Fei and I rushed under an umbrella toward the cafeteria for lunch. After all that exercise, my stomach felt like it was touching my back! After eating, we returned to class where Xia Ying was listening to music again. I walked over with an umbrella to return it to her: "Here you go; thanks for lending it." Without looking back, Xia Ying set down the umbrella and continued listening to her music while I sat beside her with my manga out. Suddenly, it struck me how well-matched we seemed—heh heh. 0
