Fujiwara rushed out the door, putting on his coat. He knew that Haruna was the subject of Kazuya's recent investigation. 0

As he opened the door, Fujiwara fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed Kazuya's number, silently praying in his heart. 0

Stepping outside, Fujiwara spotted someone crouched by the door—it was Miki Kazuya, bundled up in a black down jacket. 0

"Take me somewhere," Kazuya said without looking up. 0

"What happened? I mean..." Fujiwara asked. 0

"Take me somewhere," Kazuya repeated. 0

Fujiwara grabbed Kazuya by the arm. He intended to ask what was wrong, but then he noticed Kazuya's red eyes. 0

The car drove along Yonghe Main Road, and since getting in, Miki Kazuya had not said a word. He huddled in the back seat with his head bowed low. Fujiwara was worried but didn’t know how to ask, so he kept glancing at him through the rearview mirror. 0

About an hour later, they arrived at an open area on the outskirts, with a cemetery ahead. 0

Kazuya walked skillfully down the narrow path, with Fujiwara trailing behind him. Some people were cleaning nearby, and Fujiwara thought to himself that he should have bought a bouquet of flowers before coming. 0

Finally, they stopped at a black tombstone on the left side, which bore the name "Mikitsu Uchi." Kazuya's father rested there. 0

"Fujiwara, do you remember what we investigated before?" Kazuya asked. 0

"What are you talking about?" Fujiwara asked. 0

"When my father died, I always felt that it wasn't just a knife wound that killed him. Although the murderer eventually confessed, something still feels off," Kazuya said, reaching out to wipe the dust off the gravestone, his tone calm. 0

"Ah, you think the hospital had a hand in it." Fujiwara knew that Kazuya had been investigating the cause of his father's death for a long time. 0

Over the years, they had visited numerous places together, including various university-affiliated hospitals and large general hospitals, but there were no records of any drug extractions. Moreover, the final examination results showed no issues with cardiac function. 0

"It could also be something else, like potassium chloride. The heart anatomy wasn't altered; it should be changes in cardiac electrophysiology. The electrocardiogram before death showed symptoms like bradycardia, prolonged intervals, and conduction block. After death, aside from elevated potassium levels, nothing else could be found," Kazuya explained. 0

Fujiwara ran his fingers through his hair, unsure why Kazuya was suddenly fixating on this issue again. 0

"But we still don't know what kind of drug was used," Kazuya said, sitting down on the ground with a hint of despair in his voice, hugging his knees and staring blankly ahead. 0

"What are you thinking? We've already investigated so thoroughly," Fujiwara squatted beside him, a note of urgency in his tone. 0

This statement struck a nerve with Kazuya. He suddenly lifted his head, his gaze sharp: "We forgot one thing—some people can obtain those drugs without any records." 0

"Before Yamaguchi Haruna died, she told me something. She said Yukiho didn't deserve to be with Okamoto. Although Yukiho kept saying she wanted to stay at Nichido Planning, Haruna, who was following her, discovered that Yukiho was secretly practicing. It seems she was researching a new drug and would inject it into patients who were on the verge of death," Kazuya's voice trembled slightly as he struggled to control his emotions. 0

Fujiwara felt a chill run down his spine. He had heard Kazuya mention Yukiho before, but he couldn't remember who she was. 0

"Don't you understand? Yukiho is the daughter of the director of Zhongyang Hospital; she can get any drug she wants. It's likely that some large groups want certain people eliminated and are colluding with the hospital. Those who seem to have 'accidental injuries' aren't treated; instead, they are injected with some lethal substances," Kazuya's voice grew quieter as if he were speaking to himself. 0

"That doesn't make sense. Who would let their daughter do something like that?" Fujiwara countered, trying to find a flaw in the logic. 0

"What if it's the same person?" Kazuya's face lost its earlier brightness, and there was a hint of despair in his voice. "What are we supposed to do if it's the same person?" 0

"Please, say something I can understand. How did Haruna die? What happened to Yukiho?" Fujiwara asked, growing anxious. He needed a clear answer. 0

"Morikawa Town, Keiju District 3—if you need anything, find me there," Kazuya said as he pulled out a pen from his pocket and wrote an address on Fujiwara's hand. He patted Fujiwara on the shoulder and walked away without looking back. Fujiwara was unsure of Kazuya's intentions; he thought that for Haruna's sake, Kazuya would likely be gone for a while. 0

Fujiwara sat back down on the ground, squinting against the sunlight. 0
