After the referee decided the serve through a coin toss, we began our offense. Yuxin and Luo Yulong were both not very tall, approximately around 175 centimeters by my estimation. I defended against Yuxin, Jiang Lingfeng marked Luo Yulong, while A Fei played as the center to defend Cui Hengyang. Jiang Lingfeng started the attack with the ball, and Luo Yulong closely followed him. It turned out that Luo Yulong's footwork was nowhere near as agile as Jiang Lingfeng's; he was easily faked out by Jiang Lingfeng's quick lateral movements. Jiang Lingfeng then drove into the paint, and Cui Hengyang rushed over to help defend. With a beautiful crossover, Jiang Lingfeng scored by putting the ball in the basket. A Fei and I ran over to high-five him, while Cui Hengyang shot an angry glance at Luo Yulong. Luo Yulong dared not look back at Cui Hengyang and instead ran to the perimeter to receive the ball. 0

Yuxin quickly passed the ball from beyond the three-point line to Luo Yulong, who dribbled a couple of times before retreating to the three-point line. After controlling the ball for a moment, he passed it directly to Cui Hengyang. After receiving the ball under the basket, Cui Hengyang jumped up quickly, but "smack!" A Fei blocked his shot. After catching the rebound, I followed up with an easy layup. The opposing team inbounded the ball, and Luo Yulong passed it to Yuxin. Facing my tight defense, Yuxin seemed a bit flustered; it was clear he had little experience in actual combat and confrontation. When he attempted another aggressive drive, I swiftly intercepted the ball and passed it to Jiang Lingfeng outside the three-point line. Jiang Lingfeng made a quick cut to A Fei, who scored over Cui Hengyang's body. We ran over to high-five him again. I noticed that Cui Hengyang's face was flushed; he had completely lost his earlier arrogance from before the game. As we continued playing smoothly, they made frequent mistakes, and we maintained control of the game, causing Cui Hengyang and his teammates to become increasingly frustrated with each other. Ultimately, with Jiang Lingfeng's buzzer-beater three-pointer hitting its mark, we easily defeated Wolf Fang Team 81-9 and successfully advanced to the second round. Unfortunately, there were only ten minutes of playtime in total; it felt like we hadn't played enough before it ended. It turned out that Wolf Fang Team, who had been so boastful before the match, had such little skill; they should reconsider calling themselves "brothers." They were just a group of players who spent more time gaming and watching videos than actually competing—mere paper tigers who couldn't play basketball at all. We saw their three players leaving the park with grim faces, especially Cui Hengyang, who hadn't lifted his head since the end of the game. 0

The staff informed us that Big Back was coming for the second-round draw ceremony. There were four matches in total for just the first elimination round. We changed our clothes and walked out of Lijing Park. "Jie, A Fei!" Sha Xiaomei and Xia Ying ran over breathlessly. "When does the next match start?" Sha Xiaomei asked. "We just finished! We've advanced to the next preliminary round!" A Fei replied with a smile directed at Sha Xiaomei. "Jie, A Fei, I'm heading off now; let's rest tomorrow and meet at Lake City Park for practice in the morning. Bye!" Jiang Lingfeng said as he walked away into the distance. "Yes! Captain!" I saluted his departing figure with a standard military salute as he turned back with a smile before heading towards the bus stop. 0

"Alright! Now it's free time; where should we go?" Sha Xiaomei pouted at A Fei. A Fei seemed deep in thought with his head down when he suddenly whispered, "I think we should check out other venues to see how other matches are going." Sha Xiaomei almost fainted; Xia Ying and I stifled our laughter beside her. "A Fei, don't tease our school flower! All four venues are starting simultaneously; other matches have already ended! You should spend some time with her instead; we won't disturb you," I said while pulling Xia Ying away firmly so we wouldn't be third wheels. 0

At noon, Xia Ying and I went to eat at McDonald's. While we were eating, I noticed a familiar tall figure sitting at a table in the west corner. I walked over and said, "Bing Ge! It really is you!" After greeting Bing Ge, he turned around and smiled at me: "Jie! What a coincidence! Mengya insisted on coming to McDonald's; I had no choice but to accompany her here. Did you come by yourself?" Bing Ge's question made me blush as I glanced back at Xia Ying, who was casually eating chicken wings without a care in the world. Bing Ge followed my gaze and immediately understood everything; he laughed while punching my chest lightly: "You really managed to win over Xia Ying! No wonder Ouyang got into a fight with you; it turns out you two are rivals! Haha!" Bing Ge laughed heartily while I awkwardly scratched my head: "Bing Ge, don't make fun of me! I didn't even know how I confessed to her..." After chatting with Bing Ge for a while, I returned to my seat and couldn't help but smile at how carefree Xia Ying was while eating; that's what I loved about her—her genuine nature. 0

The next day I continued sleeping in late; I didn't even realize when my mom got up to cook breakfast. The only thing I vaguely remembered was her calling me around eight-thirty before everything went blank again. When I finally woke up naturally and checked my alarm clock, it was already nine-twenty. "Ah! Just in time! That nap felt so good; time to get up!" I said to myself as I stretched lazily before getting dressed. After washing up and grabbing a quick bite to eat, I sat down at my computer and logged onto QQ only to find Shuai Dong, Pang Hao, and A Fei online too. In our class group chat, I typed: "Comrades, anyone awake?" Almost immediately there were seven or eight replies; besides those three, Yin Long, Ding Fang, Yueyang, and Zhang Yirong were also present. I continued: "Why isn't anyone going out? Are you all like me just waking up?" Everyone started discussing animatedly as more people joined in. I asked: "Who wants to play Crossfire? Let's all play together!" As a result of my call-to-arms, we organized eight classmates for a four-on-four team match between us—me, A Fei, Shuai Dong, and Pang Hao formed one team. After an intense battle where we fought tirelessly through various modes—regular battles, sniper battles (special mode Overwatch City), knife battles (special mode Death Tunnel), demolition mode, ghost mode, terminator (biohazard) mode—we lost every single one! The most impressive player was Yin Long who achieved twelve AE kills; unexpectedly this seemingly honest guy turned out to be quite skilled at F games—truly hiding his talents well! 0
