Following Zhao Bin, they walked to a rather secluded end of the street. Beyond the street's end was a large open space that looked like an abandoned soccer field. A few people were already waiting there. After I arrived, I quietly hid in a corner. "Situ Jianfei, this is our business at Yulin High School, it has nothing to do with you. You better not interfere!" The burly guy in the middle shouted at Situ Jianfei. These people are from Yulin High School? How could I not recognize them? They might be upperclassmen, but this guy looked quite fierce and didn't resemble a high school student at all; he looked like he just came out of a wolf's den.
"Li Renjian, then why have you always been at odds with Zhao Bin?" Situ Jianfei didn't back down either. "Because he likes Ding Fang, and my brother also likes Ding Fang, it's that simple!" The burly guy exclaimed. Ah! So it's because of that girl Ding Fang! Is it really worth fighting over this? Situ Jianfei sneered, "Let me tell you again, Ding Fang likes Zhao Bin, not your brother Li Renkun!" The burly guy got anxious: "Situ Jianfei, you’ve already been kicked out of Yulin High School; you'd better stay out of this matter, or don’t blame me for forgetting our past friendship." Oh, this guy has quite the flair; he must have learned that from TV dramas. Otherwise, how would such a rough person say something like that? "Li Renjian, wherever I go, I'm the boss; you'd better clean up your mouth!" Situ Jianfei wouldn't let him off easily. "Very well, Zhao Bin, let me ask you one thing: will you continue to pursue Ding Fang?" Li Renjian asked Zhao Bin. "Li Renjian, listen up: I f*** you!" Zhao Bin stepped forward and pronounced each word clearly.
"F*** your mother!" Li Renjian kicked Zhao Bin in the stomach. Situ Jianfei and his group immediately rushed forward. They lifted their shirts and pulled out weapons from their waists; it turned out to be batons. Suddenly, a brawl broke out, resembling a scene from a gangster movie. Situ Jianfei struck Li Renjian on the back with his baton and then tackled him down. He tossed the baton aside and started throwing punches left and right. Although Zhao Bin was a rich kid, he didn’t show any signs of being spoiled; when it came to fighting, he was vigorous and incredibly strong.
After pressing Li Renjian for a while, Situ Jianfei was suddenly thrown away by Li Renjian's knee strike to his back. After throwing him off, Li Renjian grabbed Situ Jianfei by the collar and threw a punch at him. Li Renjian dodged but got hit on the shoulder instead and immediately knelt on one leg while holding his shoulder. Situ Jianfei was really enraged now and raised the baton again to strike him.
"Jianfei, Jianfei, let's talk this over." Seeing Situ Jianfei's expression combined with his actions truly frightened Li Renjian; everyone instinctively stopped moving. Zhao Bin slowly got up from the ground. "Li Renjian, let me tell you: if you dare mess with me again, I'll kill you! From now on, don’t meddle in Ding Fang and Zhao Bin’s affairs; otherwise, you know my temper!" Situ Jianfei put away the baton and walked over to help Zhao Bin up while turning his head to address Zhao Bin's companions: "Let's go!" They then disappeared into the open space while Li Renjian and his group were also helped away.
I witnessed everything that happened from the side and took a long time to regain my composure. This is what real gang fights look like! Situ Jianfei's loyalty is impressive; he really has the aura of an older brother from the underworld. However, I was quite surprised to learn that Zhao Bin liked Ding Fang! By the time I got home, it was already evening. As soon as I walked in, my mom started scolding me about why A Fei had come back earlier than me. I had no words to respond and retreated into my room. Lying on my bed afterward, everything that happened in the open space kept replaying in my mind. Situ Jianfei looked really intimidating; even from afar, I could still feel a chill as if witnessing a fierce beast fighting for its life against another beast—truly daunting.
"On such-and-such day sunny weather...," my phone rang abruptly breaking my thoughts. I checked the caller ID—it was Xia Ying calling. "Hello? What can I do for you, beautiful?" I joked. "I miss you; is that okay?" Xia Ying replied brightly. This girl is so straightforward! I smiled: "Yeah, I miss you too; we have a telepathic connection!" Xia Ying pouted: "Hmph! You're lying! Why didn't you call me?" "I didn't want to disturb your nap! If I woke you up, I'd feel bad." I played around with words. Xia Ying got anxious: "You big pig head! You can't even lie properly! It's already past six o'clock; how could you think I'm napping?! Do you think I'm like you?" "No way—some people just take longer naps..."
While I was joking with Xia Ying suddenly my mom knocked on the door: "Jie, dinner's ready! Who are you talking to? Why are you napping or not napping?" Oh no! My mom overheard me! "Nothing much; just one of my classmates had a nightmare during their nap and wanted to talk about it." I quickly hung up the phone. "A nightmare is worth calling about? Really..." My mom mumbled as she walked away. That was close! From now on I need to be careful when answering calls—not too loud since there might be ears on the other side of the wall.
After dinner, I lay on my bed and took out my phone to log onto QQ and check updates in my space. Huh? Ice Man has updated his status: 'Both happy yet regretful...' He still has this inexplicable way about him; however, somehow this sentence made me think of something... Suddenly it dawned on me—Xiang Jie! You really are quite foolish! It must be him! I think I've figured out Ice Man's true identity now; however, this person isn't exactly mysterious since they never particularly tried to hide anything—it’s just that we never thought of it before; ultimately our brains were just slow.
