"Hey hey, it's me, Brother Jie is the best." Situ Yanan's eyes curved into crescent moons. "I'm not done yet. It's not because Xia Ying is pretty... that would be weird." I showed a mischievous smile. "Hmph! Dead Jack!" Situ Yanan pouted, and that expression was so cute it made me want to pinch her cheeks and give her a lollipop, giving off a spoiled little sister vibe. 0

After returning home, it was already afternoon. I lay on my bed, my mind racing. More than half of the two-month summer vacation had passed, and so much had happened in this time: participating in the Street Basketball tournament, reaching the finals, making many friends, winning the city championship, and getting into fights... It all felt like a dream. Perhaps that's just how life is. Sigh! Forget it; I don't want to think about anything. Tomorrow I'm heading to Beijing, so I should sort out my feelings today. My parents helped me pack my bags that night, but Dad insisted on going with me, even though I really didn't need him to. 0

The next morning before leaving, my parents reminded me to call them once I arrived in Beijing and gave me a few more instructions as they saw me off. I went to find A Fei, who was having breakfast. "Jie is here! Have you eaten breakfast? Want to join me?" As soon as I walked in, Aunt Yu said to me, "Aunt Yu, I've already eaten." I sat down, and Aunt Yu came over to sit beside me. "Jie, how many of you are going to Beijing?" A Fei chimed in: "Oh mom, I'm going with just one or two people and then coming back. Jie, let's go." A Fei picked up his backpack and headed for the door while Aunt Yu called after him: "Be careful on the road!" 0

"Did you call Ling Feng Senior?" A Fei asked as we walked. I nodded. "Yeah, I called him; we're meeting at the entrance of Lijing Park." When we arrived at Lijing Park, we saw Jiang Lingfeng dressed in stylish new clothes, pulling a trendy suitcase and wandering around. "Wow! Handsome guy, you're here pretty early!" I exclaimed as I walked over. Jiang Lingfeng smiled: "Where's the handsome guy? Come on, let's go inside." "Wait for us!" Just as we were about to enter, from a distance, Sha Xiaomei, Xia Ying, and Situ Yanan ran over. Sha Xiaomei pulled A Fei aside while Xia Ying came up to me and gasped at the bruise on my face: "Ah! Pig head, who did this to you?" "It's nothing; I got into it with those scumbags from Fantasi," I quickly reassured her. Xia Ying looked concerned: "Does it still hurt? Pig head, take care of yourself when you get there; don’t be so impulsive..." She started giving me advice, and I felt like she was channeling my mom. Is that how all women are? 0

While Xia Ying was talking, Situ Yanan came over: "Brother Jie, you must take care of yourself; your injuries haven't healed yet." I noticed that Xia Ying's gaze was quite unnatural. "By the way, why didn't Shuai Dong and Pang Hao come to see us off?" Suddenly remembering those two guys, "Dream Chasers! We're here!" Both Shuai Dong and Pang Hao, each carrying a suitcase, ran towards us. "Hey! What's going on with you guys?" I asked them curiously. Shuai Dong put down his suitcase and panted slightly: "After discussing it with Pang Hao, we decided... we're going with you to Beijing to cheer you on!" A Fei came over and patted them on the shoulder with a smile: "You guys are really something." Shuai Dong replied with a grin: "Hey hey, what can we say? We're brothers." His words deeply moved me; yes, we are good brothers after all. After saying goodbye to Xia Ying and the others, the five of us headed into Lijing Park. 0

Once inside and under the guidance of the organizers, we boarded the train to Beijing. The journey would take about three hours. We three lay down on our bunks and closed our eyes to rest. The event coordinator came over: "Kids, you're all high school students, right? Make sure to check out Tiananmen Square while you're in Beijing." He sat beside us and chatted as we slowly sat up to talk since we had nothing else to do. During our conversation, we learned that he was a native of Cangzhou, now working in Beijing with two sons—his eldest son was in his second year of college while his younger son would start high school after summer break. 0

"Uncle, where does your son go to high school?" I casually asked. The coordinator smiled: "My eldest son is named Li Guanlin, studying at Peking University; my younger son is named Li Kanglin, staying with his grandmother in Cangzhou. I'm planning for him to attend high school at our local school—Yulin High School." "Really? We're students from Yulin High School! That's awesome!" I exclaimed excitedly. "Then when you get to Yulin High School, please look out for each other." "No problem," he chuckled as he patted his chest. "By the way, you must be from the school's basketball team? Both my sons are players on the team; I used to be a basketball athlete myself so I've been training them..." 0

Before we knew it, three hours had passed. We got off the train; it was already noon. This was my first time experiencing the atmosphere of Beijing's capital city. However, before we could fully appreciate it, we hurriedly headed towards the organizing committee's office in Beijing where they arranged our accommodations for us. The coordinator informed us that tomorrow he would take us to the Kuda Plaza Gymnasium for a gathering with other regional champions for a draw ceremony. We three were assigned one room while Shuai Dong and his two friends were next door. After dropping off our luggage, Shuai Dong ran over suggesting we explore Beijing. 0

"I'm not going; I'm too tired," I yawned as I lay down. But this displeased Shuai Dong: "Hey! Look at how far I've come with Pang Hao. You guys have no gratitude at all? You won ten thousand yuan in prize money but haven't treated everyone at all! No way! You have to treat us this time; let's tour around Beijing!" His tone was particularly firm as if saying: “You’re going whether you like it or not.” 0
