After taking a step back, I jumped and shot, but the opposing Center blocked me. Jiang Lingfeng grabbed the rebound and attempted a three-pointer from beyond the arc but missed. The opposing Center secured the rebound and passed it to the Point Guard, who quickly returned it to the Center. The Center received the ball and scored on a layup. It seemed like they suddenly woke up! What did they just discuss? We continued to inbound; after doing so, Jiang Lingfeng rushed to the corner and attempted a three-pointer that barely missed, bouncing twice before landing in the hands of their Center. The Center passed out to their Point Guard, who quickly bounced it to the forward, who drove straight to the basket for a dunk! The Horsemen had just gone on a 6-0 run! After being sluggish for most of the game, they suddenly transformed back into that terrifying half-beast team! The score went from double digits down to single digits in an instant, with only two minutes left in the game and our lead down to seven points. If this trend continued, they could completely turn things around. No! We absolutely cannot let that happen!
After we inbounded again, Jiang Lingfeng slowed down the pace. When he reached the right wing, he suddenly tossed a high pass to A Fei in the paint—a very risky move! Their strong monster of a Center was stationed inside; would A Fei even be able to catch it easily? The ball was thrown with force; A Fei slipped past their player like an eel and caught it before quickly passing it back to me. It turned out Jiang Lingfeng had intentionally thrown it hard. After receiving it, I used "Lingbo Microstep" to fake out their forward and scored! 01—there was still one minute and twenty-eight seconds left in the game, and our lead had widened back to nine points.
After they inbounded, their Point Guard attempted another three-pointer from the top of the arc but missed. After we inbounded again, Jiang Lingfeng dribbled while consuming time; their Point Guard tried unsuccessfully to steal it. Jiang Lingfeng quickly ran to zero degrees and attempted another three-pointer but got blocked by their chasing Point Guard. The ball went out of bounds but remained our possession.
We didn't make any more mistakes as time ticked away second by second until Jiang Lingfeng's final three-point attempt missed as time expired. The final score was set at 4; we had crushed Horsemen Team and achieved our third consecutive victory in group play while remaining undefeated on our path to the North China Finals with an unblemished record heading into the semifinals of North China Region.
"Oh wow! Welcome back our heroes!" After we left the court, Shuai Dong and Pang Hao applauded us as we walked off. We were just one step away from competing for first place; I wondered who our semifinal opponent would be. However, I felt it shouldn't be Snow Wolf Team since they should secure first place based on their strength—who would we encounter? Ah! Let nature take its course; we'll face whatever comes our way.
