"Jie, you can't say that. In the face of a great battle, we must not underestimate the enemy," A Fei said. "I know we shouldn't underestimate them. I don't look down on any team; I just don't want to belittle ourselves before the battle has even begun. You all know that overconfident soldiers are bound to lose, but don't forget that grieving soldiers will also inevitably lose." I explained to them, and Jiang Lingfeng smiled, "Jie, I don't look down on ourselves; I just think it's not easy for someone without height and physical advantages to make it to the National Finals." A Fei and I nodded in understanding. "Alright, it's past ten. After we eat, let's head to the Pudong Yuanshen Gymnasium to familiarize ourselves." 0

After eating, we picked up the ball and started practicing. It was a best-of-one match, meaning this game was no different from the final match, so we all practiced dribbling and shooting seriously. Suddenly, a few familiar figures entered; it was the Thunder Team. The three members of Thunder Team smiled harmoniously when they saw us. The tallest among them was about as tall as A Fei, while the other two were roughly five centimeters shorter than me. Finally, we had a height advantage! Seeing their friendliness, we responded in kind. 0

"You guys arrived quite early!" said the tallest member of Thunder Team as he approached us. Jiang Lingfeng walked over and replied, "You guys aren't late either; we just got here." "Today our two teams are going to have a life-and-death match. I hope we can both showcase our best competitive levels and provide an exciting game for the fans present. However... we won't go easy on you," said the tallest member of Thunder Team with a grin. His words didn't make me feel any aversion; instead, they gave me a sense of camaraderie. 0

After a while, spectators began to enter the arena. We walked onto the court as the referee tossed the coin; it was our possession. After we inbounded the ball, Jiang Lingfeng passed it directly to A Fei. A Fei received the ball and jumped for a layup under the basket. "Smack!" With a crisp sound, the ball was blocked by their Center. Jiang Lingfeng retrieved it and stepped back behind the three-point line to shoot—he scored! Although that shot went in, I felt the terrifying power of Thunder from that block. 0

After Thunder Team inbounded the ball, their Point Guard organized an attack. The Thunder Team's Point Guard drove into the paint and took a shot—a miss! A Fei grabbed the rebound and passed it to Jiang Lingfeng, but unexpectedly, Jiang Lingfeng was stripped by their Point Guard right after receiving the ball. The entire arena fell silent; the tension of the game was suffocating. We battled through turnovers and steals for most of the half. With two minutes left in the game, the score was tied at 11-11. In those past eight minutes, we had only scored twenty-four points; their defensive intensity was evident. Fortunately, we were not behind. 0

This time it was our possession again. Honestly, scoring only twelve points in eight minutes felt embarrassing for me. So when Jiang Lingfeng passed me the ball, I quickly tried to break through. Their forward blocked me tightly; I turned my back to him trying to use "Lingbo Microstep," but he was too close for me to shake off. Reluctantly, I stepped back for a jump shot; after bouncing twice on the rim, it still didn't go in—what a strange occurrence! 0

Their Center grabbed the rebound and passed it out to their forward. I moved up to guard him as we wrestled closely throughout the game. The opposing forward passed to their Point Guard who shot a three-pointer from the top of the arc! It was blocked by Jiang Lingfeng! After hitting the ground, I rushed over and caught the ball before passing it to A Fei on the right wing. A Fei stepped back to take another shot from thirty-five degrees outside—the shot finally went in! 15-11! With forty seconds left in regulation time, we took the lead. 0

After they inbounded, their Point Guard took a three-pointer from outside—missed! A Fei secured a crucial rebound! Unexpectedly, before A Fei could secure it properly in his arms, their Center snatched it away! Thunder's Center quickly passed it to their Point Guard at the top of the arc who shot lightning-fast—score! 15-15; they tied it again! 0

We had eighteen seconds left on the clock now as we began our half-court offense; now pressure should be on Thunder Team. Eighteen seconds is enough time for us to execute one complete offensive play. Their three players noticeably intensified their defensive efforts; it's no exaggeration—they could all be considered top defenders! Jiang Lingfeng faced a double team from Thunder Team's Point Guard and forward as A Fei and I rushed up for support. With only three seconds remaining on the clock, Jiang Lingfeng passed me the ball just as their forward quickly returned on defense. I had no choice but to hurriedly shoot; as soon as my shot hit off the rim, time expired—the game ended with us tied at 15 points each. According to regulations if there’s a tie in regular time before finals matches, free throws will determine who wins. 0

"I only scored fifteen points throughout this entire game—a new low for our Street Basketball Championship journey," I sighed while shaking my head. A Fei patted my shoulder: "Don't sigh yet; we need to focus on these free throws now." With that said, A Fei walked over first followed by me. Jiang Lingfeng took his turn first; he dribbled twice then took a deep breath before shooting—the ball went in! Next up was their Point Guard who also made his free throw successfully; surprisingly both teams had poor shooting percentages during gameplay but high percentages at free throws. 0

17-17! Now it was A Fei's turn at the line; he walked up confidently with basketball in hand kissed his Eagle necklace around his neck then firmly shot—nothing but net! A Fei tapped his neck as if thanking his Eagle charm before Thunder Team's Center stepped up for his turn at free throws too. After dribbling twice and adjusting himself he released his shot which circled around twice before bouncing out—17-16! We won! We eliminated Thunder Team through free throw battles and advanced to the national semifinals! 0
