Leonard pushed open the door and saw Aelia sitting alone by the window, the setting sun casting a golden halo around her, yet it could not conceal the sorrow etched on her brow.
A flicker of impatience crossed his mind, but he quickly replaced it with a concerned expression.
“Aelia, are you okay?”
Aelia did not turn around; her voice was as cold as ice. “Do you think I would be okay?”
Leonard walked over to her side and sighed deeply, feigning seriousness. “I know you’re upset, but this matter…”
“Upset?” Aelia suddenly turned to face him, the coldness in her eyes making Leonard's heart tremble. “You dare say I’m upset? You betrayed me, trampled on our marriage, and you think you can brush it off with just ‘upset’?”
Her tone was laced with anger and disappointment, piercing Leonard's heart like a sharp knife.
Leonard's expression changed, his tone growing firm. “Aelia, I hope you can calm down. This matter concerns the reputation of the Glorious Demon Fortress and the future of our family. Do you want the entire Magic Castle to become a laughingstock?”
Aelia let out a cold laugh. “Reputation? Family? Leonard, how dare you even mention those words? Did you think about reputation and family when you committed such disgraceful acts?” She pointed at him, her finger trembling. “What about me? What about our family? You’ve placed me aside for a Concubine?”
“Aelia, I admit I made a mistake,” Leonard tried to ease the tension. “But what’s done is done. We need to minimize the damage as much as possible. If you keep this matter hidden from others, I can guarantee…”
“Guarantee?” Aelia interrupted him, her eyes filled with scorn. “What can you guarantee? What do you have left to promise?” She took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. “Leonard, tell me why you betrayed me.”
Leonard was taken aback; he hadn’t expected Aelia to ask that question.
He stammered for a long time but could not find an appropriate answer.
Seeing Leonard’s awkwardness only deepened Aelia’s sorrow.
She had once loved this man deeply and had given everything for him, only to end up with such a conclusion.
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and when she opened them again, there was no sadness left, only determination. "Leonard, I will not compromise. You did something wrong, and you must pay the price!"
Leonard exploded in anger. "Aelia, don't be foolish! Do you think that by exposing this matter, you'll gain anything? The Magic Castle will be shamed because of this, and your children will be implicated as well. Are you really willing to pay such a high price for your so-called justice?"
"Justice?" Aelia laughed, a hint of sorrow in her smile. "Leonard, you don't understand what justice is at all. My dignity, my feelings—aren't they worth everything to me?"
"You..." Leonard trembled with rage. He pointed at Aelia and gritted his teeth. "Fine! Since you're so determined, don't blame me for being rude!"
Just then, the door swung open, and Eldest Brother, Second Brother, and Brother San walked in.
They had overheard the conversation and their faces were grim.
"Father, you've gone too far!" Eldest Brother leaned on his cane and scolded. "Do you not realize how much Mother has sacrificed for this family? How could you treat her like this for a Leonard's Concubine?"
"Exactly, Father! Can you really face Mother after what you've done?" Second Brother chimed in.
"Father, you've disappointed us greatly!" Brother San, usually carefree, now wore a serious expression.
Leonard glared at his three sons, his anger boiling over. "Shut up! This is between me and your mother; it's none of your business!"
"Eldest Brother is right," Eldest Brother replied solemnly. "This isn't just your issue; it's a matter for our entire family. By betraying Mother, you're betraying our whole family!"
"Eldest Brother speaks the truth," Second Brother added. "You claim to act for the reputation of the Magic Castle, but have you considered that your actions are what truly damage its reputation?"
"Father, wake up!" Brother San urged. "You've lost your way!"
Leonard was left speechless by his sons' words. In a fit of rage, he pointed at them. "You... you..."
Meanwhile, in the Magic Chamber of the Magic Castle, Luna was watching her Second Brother, whose face was pale.
“Luna, I… I really think this time I might not make it…” Second Brother's voice was weak and filled with despair.
Luna grasped Second Brother's hand, her small face full of determination. “Second Brother, don’t worry, I will help you.”
Second Brother gave a bitter smile. “Silly girl, do you know what kind of magic has been cast on me? This is…”
Luna smiled mysteriously. “I know.”
She gently patted Second Brother's hand back, her tone unusually firm, carrying a maturity beyond her years.
“Second Brother, I know you’ve been afflicted by the Soul Devouring Curse, a particularly insidious form of Dark Magic. It will slowly consume your Magic Power and vitality, ultimately turning you into an empty shell.”
Second Brother's face turned even paler; the symptoms Luna described matched his current feelings perfectly.
He never expected that his most trusted friend would cast such a cruel spell on him.
“However,” Luna changed her tone, a sly smile appearing on her lips, “I know how to break it.”
Second Brother suddenly lifted his head, a glimmer of hope igniting in his eyes. “Really? Luna, do you really know how to break it?” His voice trembled as if he had grasped a lifeline.
Luna nodded confidently, her small face radiating assurance. “Yes! Tonight is the night of the full moon; it’s the best time to lift the curse. The power of the Soul Devouring Curse is weakest during the full moon and is also the easiest time to break it.”
Second Brother excitedly squeezed Luna's hand. “Luna, thank you! Thank you!”
“Second Brother, don’t worry; everything will be alright,” Luna comforted him, a hint of concern showing in her eyes.
As night fell, a bright moon hung high in the sky, casting its pure light across the land.
In the Magic Chamber, Luna and Second Brother quietly awaited the arrival of the full moon.
A tense atmosphere enveloped the air, as if time itself had come to a standstill.
At last, the moon reached its zenith, and its light grew even brighter.
Luna took a deep breath, slowly raising her small hand and murmuring incantations.
With her chant, a mysterious power began to surge within the Magic Chamber.
A faint essence of Magic Element filled the air, twinkling like distant stars.
Second Brother watched Luna anxiously, feeling the surrounding Magic Element thickening as if it were about to engulf him.
With a gentle wave of her hand, a dazzling beam of light shot from her fingertip, heading straight for Second Brother's Mei Xin.
The light illuminated Second Brother's body, causing him to tremble slightly as his complexion grew increasingly flushed.
A warm force flowed within him, dispelling the dark Magic that had shrouded him.
"Ah..." Second Brother couldn't help but let out a groan, feeling the pain within him gradually fading away, replaced by an unprecedented sense of ease and comfort.
The magical glow intensified, illuminating the entire Magic Chamber.
Standing nearby, Lucius stared in astonishment at this scene.
He had never seen such powerful magic; it was beyond anything he had ever known.
He even felt that the magic Luna wielded was entirely different from the system he had learned, as if it came from another world.
"What... what kind of magic is this..." Lucius murmured to himself.
Luna's chanting grew increasingly fervent, and the magical light reached its peak.
Suddenly, with a flash, everything returned to calm.
Second Brother slowly opened his eyes, feeling as if he had been reborn, filled with vitality.
He looked at Luna gratefully. "Luna, thank you! You saved me!"
Luna smiled slightly. "Second Brother, how do you feel?"
"I feel amazing!" Second Brother exclaimed excitedly. "I feel like my Magic Power has completely restored, even stronger than before!"
Luna nodded, feeling a sense of relief in her heart.
"Luna," Lucius stepped forward to her, his tone tinged with awe, "who... who exactly are you?"
