After the opponent took the court again, Kobe held the ball and sprinted to the top of the arc beyond the three-point line, then made a three-pointer in front of Zhongqi Senior. We quickly ran back to inbound the ball, and Zhongqi Senior dashed to the right wing to control it. When Kobe rushed up, Zhongqi Senior faked a shot, causing the young and energetic Kobe to jump. Zhongqi Senior seized the opportunity to pass the ball through Kobe's legs to Li Kanglin, who jumped up for a layup after receiving the ball. 0

Zhou Wenming forcefully surged up and slammed the ball down hard. The ball rolled onto the floor, and I quickly ran over to pick it up and shot again, scoring! Luo Qixing's two personnel rotations yielded unexpected results. The strategy that Teacher Qiu assigned us was a calm defensive approach, and the duel between master and disciple intensified. 0

With three minutes left in the fourth quarter, we were trailing 78-88. After calling a timeout, Teacher Qiu surprisingly sent me, Ouyang, A Fei, Tu Lei, and Li Kanglin onto the court as a super rookie combination. I looked at Teacher Qiu with confusion, but he just smiled without saying anything. After entering the game, I was matched up against Kobe. After we inbounded the ball, I organized our offense while switching roles across positions one and two; I truly was the most versatile player! Facing Kobe's focused gaze, I suddenly executed a series of crossovers. Kobe closely followed with lateral steps. I then used "Lingbo Microstep" to shake past him for a layup that went in—80-80! With just two minutes and forty seconds left in the game, we were only two points behind. 0

After Thirteen Middle School inbounded the ball, Kobe passed it to Zhou Wenming. The latter took two steps toward the left wing before charging into the paint aggressively. Bing Ge decisively blocked his shot, sending the ball flying. After receiving it again in mid-air, Kobe tossed it back to Zhou Wenming, who caught it and dunked it powerfully before landing while shouting angrily in triumph. After we inbounded the ball, I brought it past half-court and passed it to A Fei. A Fei swiftly faked out an opposing forward; Zhou Wenming rushed in for help but was too late. A Fei took a shot from his spot and scored. 0

With one minute and fifty-eight seconds remaining, we were still trailing by two points at 88-90. After their inbound play, Kobe made an extremely long pass to Zhou Wenming, who then passed it to Shooting Guard. When Shooting Guard attempted to pass back to Kobe, he made a mistake that Ouyang intercepted. Ouyang quickly ran back for a fast break and passed to Li Kanglin rushing toward the basket. Li Kanglin gathered himself and leaped high for a soaring dunk but unexpectedly had a huge arm reach out from behind him—it was Zhou Wenming chasing back on defense who blocked what seemed like an easy basket! 0

Li Kanglin nearly fell after being swatted down by Zhou Wenming's powerful block. Zhou Wenming then ran back seriously to defend while we were astonished; this Zhou Wenming's explosiveness and sense of responsibility reminded me of Lu Lei—they are both players who would do anything for their team's victory. After we inbounded again, I continued controlling the ball to organize our offense. Why hadn’t Zhongqi Senior been substituted back in? It seemed Teacher Qiu wanted to develop me into an all-around offensive threat! With one minute and thirty seconds left and the score still at 88-88, I sprinted toward the basket using "Lingbo Microstep" combined with quick crossovers to get past both Kobe and Zhou Wenming for a floater that went in—finally tying up the score! 0

Coach Luo Qixing called a timeout as we walked toward our bench. "Zhongqi, you replace Jie for this last minute or so; Zhang Jun will replace A Fei. If they score on this possession, we absolutely cannot afford any mistakes on our next offense..." I stared blankly at the bright red score on the scoreboard; my heart raced with excitement. Perhaps due to concerns about audience interference, this season's City High League games were scheduled for mornings, so we had no cheerleaders supporting us—it felt frustrating. 0

After the timeout ended and we returned to the court without any substitutions from our opponents, they inbounded the ball with Kobe controlling it. He stepped back from near the free-throw line for a jumper that went in! 84-86; Thirteen Middle School regained the lead. 0

After Bing Ge inbounded the ball from his position on the right wing against their Center, he asked for it back from Zhongqi Senior who quickly passed it to him. Bing Ge turned around for a hook shot that scored! After their quick inbound play, Kobe moved up to control at the arc before suddenly making a behind-the-back pass to Shooting Guard who took a three-pointer from forty-five degrees on the right wing...and scored! 86-89! With just forty-four seconds left in regulation time, after we inbounded again, Zhongqi Senior cut through to Ouyang who was moving around near the free-throw line; Ouyang stepped back for a three-pointer from beyond the arc which also went in! This crucial shot kept our chances of winning alive. 0

After receiving an inbound pass from midcourt, Kobe moved past half-court where Zhou Wenming came around to take possession before charging toward the basket. Li Kanglin raised his hands defensively in front of him; Zhou Wenming immediately switched steps for a three-step layup while simultaneously using his knee to push against Li Kanglin's chest causing him to stumble backward. The referee's whistle blew—Li Kanglin was called for blocking foul—and Zhou Wenming headed for free throws with twenty-eight seconds remaining on the clock. If he made this shot, we'd have no choice but to go for three points! 0

Zhou Wenming approached the free-throw line muttering something as if praying before slowly lifting his ball...it bounced off the rim! Zhang Jun, Li Kanglin, and Bing Ge all rushed up for a rebound but unexpectedly found that Zhou Wenming had snuck in behind them to grab it under pressure from our three players before attempting another forced shot! The referee's whistle sounded again—Bing Ge was called for another blocking foul—and Zhou Wenming would shoot two more free throws. My heart twisted tightly as I clenched my fists; Zhou Wenming's determination was truly remarkable! 0

Zhou Wenming stepped up to take his free throws; he closed his eyes and silently recited something before shooting his first attempt...and scored! Kobe and Shooting Guard came over to high-five him as Zhou Wenming received another ball from the referee adjusting himself before shooting his second attempt...and scored again! 89-94; there were only twenty seconds left in regulation time as our deficit widened to five points—the situation became dire as scoring five points within twenty seconds seemed nearly impossible. Had we encountered yet another destined nemesis? Last season Twenty-Four Middle School successfully played that role against us; would this season’s unheralded Rookie Team Thirteen Middle School be able once more to block our path forward? 0
