The Mist Beast charged like a moving mountain, uprooting trees and creating massive craters in the ground as it advanced. Its thick mist enveloped its body like a solid armor, obscuring any visible weak points. Kalan and Lia quickly split up, flanking the beast in an attempt to find an opportunity to strike.
Kalan was the first to attack, channeling Dark Moon Power into his claws as he darted towards the Mist Beast like a wraith. However, when his claws made contact with the beast's misty form, it felt as though he had plunged into a thick gelatinous substance, significantly diminishing his strength. The beast sensed Kalan's attack and swung its massive arm, sending a fierce gust of wind that violently knocked Kalan away. He crashed into a sturdy tree, which splintered upon impact, and coughed up a mouthful of Yin Xue, yet his gaze remained resolute.
Seeing this, Lia hurriedly rummaged through her Experimental Pack for various potions. She threw a vial containing a paralyzing agent at the giant creature; it exploded upon impact, releasing green smoke. However, the Mist Beast merely paused momentarily before continuing its advance, clearly unaffected by the potion.
"We can't keep this up! Its defenses are too strong!" Lia exclaimed anxiously, beads of sweat glistening on her forehead in the misty light.
"We need to find a way to penetrate its mist defense!" Kalan wiped the blood from his lips and struggled to rise. Dark Moon Power surged within him, causing his silver hair to flutter without wind as he exuded a dangerous aura.
Suddenly, Lia recalled the second Moonlight Gem they had obtained from the Fire Mountain Range. Perhaps the pure power of the Moonlight Gem could disperse the Mist Beast's fog. Holding the gem tightly in her hand, she focused her energy to channel its power.
"Kalan, I'll try using the Moonlight Gem's power to dispel its mist! Look for an opportunity to attack!" Lia shouted.
Kalan nodded in understanding, keeping his eyes fixed on the Mist Beast as he prepared for a decisive strike. Lia closed her eyes and merged her magic with the power of the Moonlight Gem. A gentle blue light blossomed from her hand, gradually spreading like sunlight breaking through clouds, beginning to clear away the thick fog surrounding the Mist Beast.
Under the glow of blue light, parts of the Mist Beast's body became visible. It had enormous, rough skin covered in protruding bumps, and its eyes glowed like two massive red lanterns filled with ferocity.
Seizing the moment, Kalan charged towards the Mist Beast once more, this time aiming directly for its eyes. The beast sensed danger and swung its arm in an attempt to block him. Kalan deftly dodged aside, utilizing the speed and strength granted by Dark Moon Power to evade its attack successfully.
Just as Kalan was about to reach the beast's eye, it suddenly expelled a cloud of black mist. This mist was highly corrosive; upon contact with Kalan's skin, it burned like fire. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he pushed through the mist and drove his claws deep into one of the beast's eyes.
The Mist Beast roared in agony and thrashed wildly. Kalan was thrown back but had successfully inflicted serious damage on it. At that moment, Lia's Moonlight Gem shone brightly, completely dispersing the fog around the beast.
Without its mist for cover, the Mist Beast's movements slowed significantly. Seizing this opportunity, Lia and Kalan launched another assault. Kalan relentlessly struck at the creature's wounds with Dark Moon Power while Lia supported him with various potions to weaken its strength.
After an intense battle, the Mist Beast finally succumbed and collapsed with a thunderous crash. Its body gradually dissipated into wisps of fog that merged into the air.
Exhausted, Lia and Kalan collapsed onto the ground, their bodies covered in wounds and their clothes tattered. Yet looking at the third Moonlight Gem in their hands filled them with a sense of accomplishment.
"We did it, Kalan," Lia panted with a smile of relief on her face.
"Yes, but we still have two Moonlight Gems left. I wonder what dangers we will face next," Kalan replied, concern flickering in his eyes.
After resting for a moment, they continued forward based on their clues. The next Moonlight Gem was believed to be located within the Mysterious Ruins deep undersea. This meant they would have to enter the Raging Waves ocean and confront unknown marine creatures and complex underwater environments.
Arriving at the shore and gazing out at the vast ocean before them, Lia and Kalan took a deep breath. Kalan utilized Dark Moon Power to cast a Magic Shield around both himself and Lia that could withstand water pressure. They slowly waded into the sea; as they descended deeper, water pressure increased while their Magic Shield began to tremble slightly.
In the depths of the ocean, they encountered various strange marine creatures. A gigantic Giant Octopus waved its long tentacles in an attempt to ensnare them; fierce sharks quickly swam toward them upon sensing blood in the water, revealing their sharp teeth.
Kalan and Lia worked closely together; Kalan used Dark Moon Power to fend off approaching marine creatures while Lia utilized potions to disrupt their movements. During an encounter with a group of Electric Eels that released powerful currents illuminating surrounding waters instantly shocked them both; their bodies went numb but they persevered through sheer willpower.
After enduring numerous challenges, they finally found the entrance to Mysterious Ruins. The ruins were hidden within a canyon of an Undersea Mountain Range surrounded by mysterious runes and Coral Reefs. As they approached the entrance, a powerful magical barrier blocked their path.
Kalan attempted to breach it using Dark Moon Power but only managed to make it tremble slightly without breaking through. Lia carefully observed the runes on the barrier and noticed that they bore some connection to runes she had seen previously at Silver Claw Castle and other locations.
She harnessed the power of the Moonlight Priestess to communicate with the runes. After much effort, she finally discovered the method to open the barrier. Lia infused her magic into the runes, and the barrier gradually dissipated, revealing the interior of the ruins.
An ancient and mysterious aura pervaded the ruins, with walls covered in various old patterns and inscriptions. They cautiously explored the ruins when suddenly, a deep roar echoed through the air. A massive Sea Monster slowly emerged from the darkness; its body resembled that of a gigantic sea turtle, but its head was like that of a fierce lion, filled with sharp fangs.
The Sea Monster spotted Lia and Kalan and immediately launched an attack. It spewed a jet of black ink, turning the surrounding seawater pitch black. Kalan and Lia found themselves engulfed in darkness, relying solely on their magical senses to locate the Sea Monster.
Kalan unleashed his Dark Moon Power, creating streaks of dark red light in the darkness, attempting to illuminate their surroundings. Meanwhile, Lia searched for the Sea Monster's weakness and discovered that its underbelly was relatively soft.
"Kalan, attack its underbelly!" Lia shouted.
Kalan charged toward the Sea Monster's abdomen. As he approached, he concentrated his Dark Moon Power in his claws and struck fiercely at its underbelly. The Sea Monster writhed in pain, trying to shake Kalan off. However, Kalan held on tightly to its abdomen, continuing his assault.
Seizing the opportunity, Lia took out a luminescent potion and threw it at the Sea Monster. The potion exploded upon contact, illuminating the area around them. In the glow of light, Kalan could see the Sea Monster's movements clearly and successfully dodged its counterattack.
After a fierce battle, they finally triumphed over the Sea Monster. Deep within the ruins, they found the fourth Moonlight Gem. The Moonlight Gem was embedded in a massive stone pedestal, emitting a soft glow that reflected beautifully against the surrounding seawater.
Lia gently took down the Moonlight Gem and placed it in her arms. "We only have one more Moonlight Gem left," she said, her voice tinged with anticipation and tension.
"Wherever that last gem is, we will definitely find it," Kalan replied firmly, his eyes filled with confidence.
After leaving the Mysterious Ruins, they followed their last clue and learned that the final Moonlight Gem was located in a cursed ancient city. This city lay deep within a desert, shrouded by a layer of mysterious dark power; it was said that few who entered ever returned alive.
Without hesitation, Lia and Kalan set off toward the desert. As they traversed through it, they faced fierce winds, sandstorms, and water shortages. Yet through their unwavering will and mutual support, they drew closer to the ancient city step by step.
When they finally saw the outline of the ancient city, an oppressive atmosphere washed over them. The city walls were crumbling, and black mist swirled at its gates as if concealing endless dangers.
Kalan and Lia took a deep breath and clasped hands as they stepped into this cursed ancient city. They knew this would be their most challenging trial in their quest for the Moonlight Gem and a crucial step for Purification and Dark Moon Power...
