Qin Si gently pulled back the curtains, and the morning sunlight poured into the room, illuminating Aelia's serene sleeping face.
She carried a plate of pastries that emitted a strange yet delightful aroma, walking to the bedside and softly calling out, “Madam, it’s time to wake up. Today is the Magic Castle Festival! This is the Master Cook’s special Magic Blessing Pastry, said to bring good luck for an entire year!”
Aelia rubbed her sleepy eyes, catching a whiff of the sweet scent laced with a hint of magical essence, instantly feeling more awake.
“Oh? Magic Blessing Pastry? Luna will surely love it!”
Almost simultaneously, Luna stirred in her cradle. She blinked her big eyes, reminiscent of the moon, waving her tiny hands and making cooing sounds as if responding to Aelia's words.
“See? I told you!” Aelia smiled as she got up, taking the pastry from Qin Si and taking a gentle bite.
“Mmm, this tastes wonderful! It seems to contain some kind of magical power that makes me feel full of energy!”
Seeing her mother enjoying the treat, Luna’s little face turned red with eagerness as she reached out her hands, wanting to try the magical pastry herself.
Aelia chuckled and broke off a small piece, feeding it to Luna.
The Little One beamed with delight, smacking her lips like a greedy little squirrel.
“Madam, today’s Magic Castle Festival is going to be lively! There are magic performances and all sorts of peculiar trinkets everywhere. Should we take Young Miss out to see?” Qin Si suggested while tidying up the bed.
“Of course we should! Luna has never seen such a bustling scene!” Aelia exclaimed excitedly. “I can’t wait! It’s been so long since I’ve properly enjoyed the Magic Castle Festival.”
Luna seemed to understand her mother’s words; she clapped her hands even more joyfully, letting out cheerful laughter that expressed her excitement.
Aelia changed into a light purple Starry Gown and dressed Luna up beautifully before carrying her out with great enthusiasm.
The Magic Castle Festival was indeed bustling with activity.
The streets were lined with various magical goods: sparkling Magic Water crystal balls, singing Magic Dolls, and all sorts of oddly shaped magical plants.
The air was filled with an array of Cedar Fragrance—smells of roasted meat, fresh flowers, and various magical potions mingling together in a delightful chaos that dazzled the senses.
“Qin Si, what’s that over there?” Aelia asked, pointing at a stage in the distance where a Mage was performing.
“Madam, that is a traditional program of the Magic Castle—the Fire Dance. The performer can control flames and transform them into various shapes; it’s truly spectacular!” Qin Si explained.
Luna watched in rapt attention, her little mouth slightly agape.
“Wow, how amazing!” Aelia couldn’t help but exclaim.
In addition to the dazzling magic performances, there were also many fun interactive games to enjoy.
The most popular event was undoubtedly the "Exorcism Ceremony." People threw Magic Stink Bombs at the Magic Puppet, which symbolized the Evil Spirit, in an effort to drive away misfortune and pray for peace in the coming year.
Luna, seeing the colorful Magic Stink Bombs, was so excited that she danced with joy, insisting on playing with them. Aelia, unable to refuse her, bought a bag for her. Luna took a Magic Stink Bomb and waved her little hand, sending a stink bomb flying straight at the head of a Magic Puppet.
With a loud "bang," the stink bomb exploded, releasing a burst of colorful smoke that emitted a peculiar odor. The people around burst into laughter, and Luna joined in, having the time of her life.
In the distance, Lucius watched this scene with a look of surprise on his face. He realized that the stink bombs were not thrown by Luna herself but were being controlled by several Little Demon Servants using low-level magic at her command.
"This little girl is quite clever!" Lucius couldn't help but exclaim.
After playing for a while, Aelia took Luna back to their room. Qin Si helped Luna wash up and then placed her in the Cradle. Luna quickly fell into a deep sleep.
However, she had a terrifying nightmare. In her dream, she was being chased by a group of people wielding various weapons, shouting "Evil Spirit! Evil Spirit!" Luna ran desperately but could not escape. She felt trapped in a giant cage with no way out.
"Please! Don't catch me!" Luna cried out in terror, waking up suddenly from her nightmare. She was drenched in cold sweat, her little face pale as she realized that the "Evil Spirit" they had driven away during the Exorcism Ceremony had turned out to be herself!
Feeling both angry and sad at this thought, Luna burst into tears. At that moment, Aelia heard her cries and hurried in.
"Luna, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"
Seeing her mother, Luna reached out her little hands, wanting to be held.
Aelia picked up Luna and found her burning with fever.
"Oh my goodness, she's so hot!" Aelia exclaimed anxiously. "Qin Si, hurry and call a doctor!"
Luna clung tightly to her mother, tears streaming down her face like pearls from a broken string.
She knew that this magical world was not what she had imagined...
"Mom..." Luna choked out, her voice filled with sorrow and helplessness.
