"Alright, let's not worry about that guy anymore. Let's go inside and have some Medicinal Tea; I'm getting a bit impatient," Chen Shuifeng said, slightly excited. The group then walked into the temple.
Jiang Chen followed them inside and waited for a while. Soon, a Lama emerged carrying a Copper Pot filled with Medicinal Tea. Chen Shuifeng took out some disposable cups from her bag and eagerly asked the Lama to pour her a cup. Just like yesterday, the taste was the same.
However, today Chen Shuifeng didn't complain; she took a big gulp without hesitation. Qian Wenwu and the others quickly poured themselves a cup as well, tasting it carefully. After taking a sip, they showed no reaction and finished their entire cups.
Afterward, everyone looked at each other in confusion. "What do you all feel?" one asked.
"Not much, just that it's really bitter," another replied.
"I don't feel anything either," came another voice.
"Sumei, you tricked us yesterday! This is just ordinary Medicinal Tea; it's not as miraculous as you claimed. We came all this way for nothing!" Chen Shuifeng complained, feeling disappointed since she hadn't experienced any effects after drinking a large cup.
Xiong Sumei also looked puzzled and asked the Lama for a cup. After drinking it, she indeed felt no different from before. "Master, this Medicinal Tea seems different from yesterday's," Xiong Sumei questioned.
"Actually, they're the same. It's just that perhaps yesterday the divine mountain revealed its power, which is why the Medicinal Tea had miraculous effects. Such opportunities are rare; once missed, they cannot be regained," the Lama replied with a slight smile.
Last night, several Lamas returned and began experimenting with the Medicinal Tea. However, no matter how they brewed it—even adding Snow Water like Jiang Chen did—the effects of yesterday's tea could not be replicated. The Lamas could only regard the miraculous effects of yesterday's tea as a manifestation of divine power from the mountain.
"Is that true? The divine mountain can really reveal its power?" Chen Shuifeng asked skeptically.
"It depends on luck. I also had a bit of yesterday's Medicinal Tea, and it was indeed different from our usual brew. After drinking it, I felt almost completely free of ailments. I had previously fractured my leg and would experience excruciating pain every night, but last night it didn't hurt at all. So I believe that yesterday was truly a manifestation of divine power; otherwise, my Medicinal Tea wouldn't have had such miraculous effects," the Lama said honestly, sharing everything without holding back.
Hearing this, Xiong Sumei and Qian Wenwu exchanged glances; to be honest, they were somewhat skeptical. However, the Lama's sincere demeanor didn't seem like that of someone who would deceive them.
Xiong Sumei was clever and recalled some details from yesterday; there was indeed a slight difference between yesterday's and today's Medicinal Tea. She turned to look at Jiang Chen.
"Master, could it be because we added some Snow Water from the divine mountain yesterday?" Xiong Sumei suddenly suggested.
"That is possible. Perhaps as that young man said, the divine mountain infused its power into the Snow Water yesterday, which is why the Medicinal Tea had such effects. Today, however, the divine power has faded from the Snow Water, making it just ordinary Snow Water again; adding more won't yield any results," the Lama nodded in agreement. This explanation seemed to be the only plausible one.
After saying this, both the Lama and Xiong Sumei turned their attention to Jiang Chen.
"There's no need to look at me. Since the Divine Mountain has a spirit, it surely witnessed all those suffering from ailments yesterday and will manifest its power," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile, his response deliberately ambiguous. He then turned to Xiong Sumei and continued, "When are you going back? Can I hitch a ride with you?"
