"Miss Liu, we can discuss our collaboration over dinner, but that guy is of no use," Qian Wenwu said with a smile. "Xiong Sumei, you heard Miss Liu; she doesn't like dining with men, especially useless ones. Let that guy eat somewhere else."
Xiong Sumei frowned but didn't say much.
"Forget it, let's just go eat. We can chat while we dine," Liu Pingping said, her tone softening.
"Miss Liu, please, this restaurant serves authentic Tianfu Cuisine. You must savor it," Qian Wenwu said cheerfully, making it seem as if Liu Pingping was his guest, which left Xiong Sumei feeling speechless.
As the door to the private room swung open, Qian Wenwu entered and called out loudly, "Hey, Miss Liu said she doesn't like dining with unrelated people, especially men. You should know what to do as an unrelated person, right?"
Liu Pingping hadn't paid much attention at first; she casually glanced at the man in the room and was left dumbfounded, thinking she must be dreaming.
Xiong Sumei had intended to say a few words on Jiang Chen's behalf to ease the awkwardness but noticed that Liu Pingping's expression seemed off, as if she had witnessed something unbelievable.
"Manager Liu, what's wrong?" Xiong Sumei gently nudged Liu Pingping's arm and asked in a low voice.
Liu Pingping snapped back to reality, rubbing her eyes. The person sitting in the chair was indeed the one she had been longing for day and night, and he was looking right at her.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Liu Pingping found herself speechless; words were stuck in her throat.
"Miss Liu, long time no see," Jiang Chen said first, smiling faintly.
Hearing Jiang Chen's words, Qian Wenwu and the others were stunned. Did this guy know Liu Pingping?
All eyes turned to Liu Pingping.
"Long time no see, Mr. Jiang," Liu Pingping managed to suppress her emotions, her voice trembling slightly with excitement.
"You all can leave!" Liu Pingping reacted quickly, turning to Qian Wenwu and the others with a cold tone.
"Miss Liu, I..." Qian Wenwu began to explain.
"Did you not hear me? I said for you all to leave," Liu Pingping raised her voice.
Qian Wenwu and the others looked helpless and reluctant but had no choice but to exit the room. Soon enough, only Liu Pingping, Jiang Chen, and Xiong Sumei remained in the private room.
"Let's sit down and eat," Jiang Chen said with a smile. With Qian Wenwu and the others gone, the atmosphere felt much calmer.
Xiong Sumei took a seat, her gaze shifting back and forth between Liu Pingping and Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen wore a gentle smile, appearing relaxed as usual.
Meanwhile, although Liu Pingping tried to suppress her emotions, her excitement shone through her eyes and every movement she made.
After calming herself down a bit, Liu Pingping curiously asked, "Mr. Jiang, how did you end up with Miss Xiong?"
Liu Pingping naturally did not think that Jiang Chen had taken a liking to Xiong Sumei. After all, when it came to beauty, Liu Pingping was quite confident; if Jiang Chen didn't even appreciate his own looks, he certainly wouldn't be interested in Xiong Sumei.
"Manager Liu, I only met Mr. Jiang a couple of days ago," Xiong Sumei began. "The situation is like this..." She recounted everything that had happened over the past few days, though there were some details she chose to omit.
After listening, Liu Pingping turned to Jiang Chen. "Mr. Jiang, I tried to visit you in Shanghai over the past two years but never managed to see you. You haven't been spending all this time on the Tibet Plateau, have you?"
