“Jiang Chen, when are you going back?” Lin Bingbing suddenly asked.
“Tomorrow, I suppose,” Jiang Chen replied.
“Are you going straight back to Qingcheng?”
“I’ll stop by Liu Fei City first to see a few friends who started their own businesses,” Jiang Chen said with a smile. With more than half a month until the New Year, there was no rush.
Two years ago, at his childhood friend Wang Shun Yuan's wedding, Jiang Chen had invested several hundred million to help Wang Shun Yuan and others start their ventures. Now, two years later, from their messages and social media posts, it seemed their company was doing well and had begun to take shape, with its headquarters set up in Liu Fei City.
After all, Liu Fei City had developed rapidly in recent years, attracting investments with significant benefits for businesses. Thus, Wang Shun Yuan and the others decided to establish their headquarters there, especially since Liu Ying suggested it and he was from An Province. Coincidentally, Jiang Chen’s godmother also lived in Liu Fei City, which made it easier for Wang Shun Yuan and Gao Kang to agree.
Of course, they had also established branches in several major cities. Wang Shun Yuan was stationed in the capital, while Gao Kang took charge of the Shenzhen branch after graduating last year. Liu Ying remained in Liu Fei City.
Since Jiang Chen planned to spend the New Year at his godmother's house and would need to transfer at Liu Fei City, he naturally wanted to check on the company his friends had started.
Upon hearing this, Lin Bingbing paused for a moment before saying with some anticipation, “Can I go back to Liu Fei City with you? I don’t want to stay at home.”
“Sure, let’s go together tomorrow,” Jiang Chen nodded. Lin Bingbing had lived in Liu Fei City before and still owned a house there; Jiang Chen didn’t ask whether she bought or rented it. Since she felt uncomfortable at home, it would be good for her to escape to Liu Fei City.
Hearing Jiang Chen’s response, Lin Bingbing was instantly delighted.
The next day, Lin Bingbing went directly back to Liu Fei City with Jiang Chen. Although her family repeatedly pleaded with her not to leave, she was determined this time.
It wasn’t that Lin Bingbing was heartless; she simply didn’t want to be drained by her family anymore. Her brother owed fifty million this time, and if they sold their house, car, and some collectibles, they could pay off the debt. They were capable of taking care of themselves from now on; Lin Bingbing would absolutely not support them financially again.
Once they arrived in Liu Fei City, Lin Bingbing took Jiang Chen back to her residence in Tianyin Garden first.
“Jiang Chen, why don’t you stay here from now on?” She said as she scanned her fingerprint to enter the room.
“Okay!” Jiang Chen surprisingly did not refuse.
“Really?” Lin Bingbing was overjoyed. She knew Jiang Chen had no ulterior motives but still hoped something might happen between them.
“Of course! By the way, you’ll have to handle lunch on your own; I’m meeting a college classmate at noon,” Jiang Chen said.
“Alright! Will you come back for dinner? I want you to try my cooking,” Lin Bingbing said sweetly.
Hearing that he would taste Lin Bingbing's cooking made Jiang Chen feel a bit uneasy. What could a big star possibly know about cooking? He couldn’t help but doubt it.
Noticing Jiang Chen's reaction, Lin Bingbing felt a bit embarrassed and quickly explained, “I didn’t know how to cook before, but I’ve been practicing for the past three years. I promise dinner won’t disappoint you.”
"Since that's the case, I find myself looking forward to it," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Hehe, you will definitely be surprised tonight," Lin Bingbing replied confidently, clearly having mastered her cooking skills over the past three years.
After Jiang Chen left, Lin Bingbing began to tidy up the room, humming a cheerful tune, her whole demeanor radiant.
