Jiang Chen headed directly to the CBD Center in the heart of Liu Fei City, where the company founded by Wang Shun Yuan and his associates was located in one of the office buildings. Liu Ying was already waiting at the entrance.
"Jiang Chen, where have you been these past two years? I was so worried about you when I didn't hear anything!" Liu Ying exclaimed excitedly as she rushed towards him upon seeing him.
Jiang Chen took a moment to assess Liu Ying. She had completely transformed; gone was the youthful naivety of her early days. Instead, she exuded an air of confidence, dressed in a well-fitted suit, her hair impeccably styled, and her shoes polished to a shine. Her demeanor reflected that of a company leader, and seeing this change in Liu Ying genuinely pleased Jiang Chen.
"Haha, I went into seclusion for cultivation and to gain some insights into life. But enough about me; tell me about you and your company. Show me around!" Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Sure! The company has developed quite well over the past two years. The boss and Brother Kang are both out of Liu Fei City right now. Should I call them back?" Liu Ying suggested.
"No need for that. Time is long, and with the winter break approaching, you all must be very busy in education," Jiang Chen replied with a chuckle.
As they chatted, they reached the sixteenth floor of the office building.
"Blue Ocean Education," read the prominent sign as they entered. Inside the company, a receptionist curiously glanced at Jiang Chen, initially mistaking him for an inspector from another company but quickly reconsidering.
After taking a tour around the office, Jiang Chen finally arrived at Liu Ying's office, where her secretary brought in a stack of documents for her to sign.
"You carry on with your work; I'll just sit here for a bit. No need to be formal between us," Jiang Chen said with a grin.
"Alright then," Liu Ying replied without further pleasantries, focusing intently on her paperwork. Meanwhile, the secretary couldn't help but steal glances at Jiang Chen, wondering if he was a friend or relative of President Liu who had come to seek favor now that she was doing well.
Once Liu Ying finished her documents, it was time to leave work. She handed the files back to her secretary with a few instructions before quickly moving over to Jiang Chen's side. "Jiang Chen, let's go eat."
"Sure, let's go," Jiang Chen stood up.
As they left the company, discussions began among the staff about Jiang Chen, but their opinions were not very favorable; they viewed him merely as a poor friend or relative seeking support from Liu Ying.
In a restaurant within the CBD Center—an upscale establishment frequented by company executives and quality-seeking professionals—Jiang Chen and Liu Ying settled into a window-side table. As Liu Ying began ordering from the menu, an unexpectedly pleasant and somewhat sweet voice interrupted them.
"President Liu, what a coincidence! Is this your client?"
Upon hearing that voice, Liu Ying's expression shifted noticeably; she appeared somewhat embarrassed. Jiang Chen looked up to see two stylishly dressed young women—one with short hair and the other with long hair—both embodying the essence of urban elegance. The speaker was the long-haired woman.
"No, she's not a client; she's just a friend of mine," Liu Ying quickly clarified.
Jiang Chen could tell that Liu Ying admired this long-haired woman. It made sense; he wondered if Liu Ying had been dating anyone over the past two years. From what he learned from Jiang Shun Yuan, Liu Ying had been single from birth until graduating college without even holding hands with another girl. Now that she had become President Liu, her charm had skyrocketed, naturally improving her appeal to others. If this had been more than two years ago, these two beauties probably wouldn't have even glanced at Liu Ying.
