"You all must know, or perhaps even recognize, that a few years ago, at the Qinling Sword Immortal Ruins, he had you Hidden Sect unable to lift your heads. Am I being clear enough?" Peng Shishan said calmly.
"It’s him!" The two men in black exchanged glances, their expressions shifting to one of fear.
Jiang Chen, watching from the stone wall, couldn't help but chuckle quietly when he heard Peng Shishan mention him. When did he become the support for the Peng Family? Was it just because he knew Peng Tianqi?
Seeing the once arrogant men now displaying fear, a smile crept onto Peng Shishan's lips; it seemed his words had taken effect.
"You say that man is your Peng Family's support? What evidence do you have?" the tall, thin man in black asked in a low voice, his tone heavy with seriousness but tinged with skepticism.
"I have no need to deceive you. If you don't believe me, you can ask our Peng Family. My ancestor, Peng Tianqi, once traveled to Kunlun Mountain with a great master and shares a deep bond with him. I came here because I heard you discovered the essence of the Yin Spirit and wanted to present it to the master," Peng Shishan explained.
The two men in black lost all their arrogance, their expressions grave as they whispered among themselves.
Three minutes later, their demeanor suddenly turned cold, and a fierce killing intent erupted from their eyes.
"If we kill you now and toss your bodies into the deep pool, no one would know," the slightly plump man said with a sinister grin.
"Do you dare?" Peng Shishan's heart sank; if that were true, it would indeed be without anyone knowing.
"Why wouldn't we dare?" The plump man sneered.
The atmosphere grew tense.
"Let's talk this out calmly," Jiang Shi quickly interjected. After all, everyone was here for the essence of the Yin Spirit. Jiang Shi had no idea what it was or why there was such turmoil over it. It wouldn't be worth any casualties, especially with Director Li Fuxiu present; if something happened to him, it would stir up a huge storm. Li Fuxiu frowned slightly; he hadn't expected these two to be so fearless even against the Peng Family.
Though they feared the powerful figure behind the Peng Family, they were now driven to madness and sought to silence them. Li Fuxiu wanted to achieve merit but didn't want to die either.
Without absolute advantage, they couldn't let "a cornered dog jump over the wall." Li Fuxiu's mind raced as he quickly followed Jiang Shi's lead and said, "How about this? We can divide the essence of the Yin Spirit into three parts—one for you, one for us, and one for Old Peng."
"You police have no use for the essence of the Yin Spirit; your share isn't necessary. As for the Peng Family's share... well, we're not sure if they intend to give it to Mr. Jiang. It’s better to keep it here until we personally hand it over to Mr. Jiang," the tall man pondered before responding.
Mr. Jiang? That powerful figure has the surname Jiang?
"Old Peng, is that great master Mr. Jiang?" Li Fuxiu asked softly.
Peng Shishan nodded.
Jiang Shi repeated "Mr. Jiang" in his mind but didn't think much of it and certainly didn't connect it to Jiang Chen.
"The way you're speaking shows that you still hold some respect for Mr. Jiang. However, if you take away the essence of the Yin Spirit tonight, I can't guarantee that you'll actually deliver it to Mr. Jiang. Besides, you don't even know where Mr. Jiang is," Peng Shishan stated firmly.
