In the early morning, Su Mu habitually cast a divination for himself. The hexagram revealed: Kan represents water, and Gen represents mountain; water and mountain signify obstacles, indicating a treacherous path ahead filled with danger. Su Mu furrowed his brow, a sense of unease rising within him.
"What’s wrong?" Ye Qiu noticed Su Mu's expression and asked with concern.
Su Mu shared the hexagram's message with Ye Qiu. "It shows that we are about to face danger, and… this danger is related to a mysterious organization."
Ye Qiu's heart sank. "A mysterious organization? Could it be… those people we encountered before?"
Su Mu shook his head. "I’m not sure. The hexagram isn’t clear; I only sense a powerful force lurking in the shadows, slowly approaching us."
"What should we do?" Ye Qiu inquired.
"Be cautious and observe the situation," Su Mu replied. "When soldiers come, we will meet them; when water comes, we will block it. We just need to be prepared."
In the following days, Su Mu and Ye Qiu remained on high alert, but everything seemed calm, with no unusual occurrences.
"Could it be… I miscalculated?" Su Mu wondered internally.
"Maybe it was just a false alarm," Ye Qiu reassured him. "Don’t worry too much."
However, just as they began to let their guard down, danger approached silently.
That night, as Su Mu and Ye Qiu were on their way home, a black sedan suddenly swerved in from the side, crashing into their car and flipping it over.
Struggling to crawl out of the wreckage, Su Mu and Ye Qiu found themselves surrounded by a group of men in black.
The figures in black moved with agility, their eyes sharp and exuding an air of menace.
"Who are you?" Ye Qiu asked sharply.
The black-clad individuals did not respond but instead launched an immediate attack.
Although Su Mu and Ye Qiu possessed some skills, they still felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of attackers.
At that moment, a mysterious figure in a white robe appeared behind the black-clad assailants.
With a gentle wave of his hand, the mysterious figure commanded the attackers to halt, and they respectfully stepped aside.
"Who are you? Why are you attacking us?" Su Mu asked, looking at the mysterious figure with a serious expression.
The figure slowly removed his hat, revealing a pale yet handsome face.
"We are the Xuanming Sect, and you..." The mysterious man paused, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes, "are our... targets..."
"Xuanming Sect?" Su Mu and Ye Qiu exchanged glances, both seeing a hint of shock in each other's eyes. They had never heard of this organization before.
"What do you want from us?" Su Mu asked again, his tone laced with caution.
The mysterious man let out a cold laugh. "What do we want? You will find out soon enough."
With that, the mysterious figure waved his hand, and the black-clad men surrounded them once more. Su Mu and Ye Qiu stood back to back, ready to fight.
Though outnumbered, Su Mu and Ye Qiu did not give up the fight. Su Mu utilized the secret techniques from the "Heavenly Secrets Medical Codex," sending talismans flying and golden light flashing, pushing back several of the black-clad men. Ye Qiu relied on his exceptional combat skills, engaging in close-quarters combat with the attackers.
However, the sheer number of black-clad men, all well-trained, began to wear them down.
At that moment, the mysterious figure made his move again. A black dagger appeared in his hand, exuding a chilling aura.
The mysterious figure moved like a ghost, his speed astonishing. In the blink of an eye, he was before Su Mu. Caught off guard, Su Mu was slashed on the arm by the dagger.
"Su Mu!" Ye Qiu exclaimed in alarm, wanting to rush forward to help, but he was entangled by several black-clad men.
Su Mu clutched his injured arm, his face pale. He realized that today might be his last.
The mysterious figure advanced step by step toward Su Mu. "We are very interested in your medical skills and divination techniques. Join us at the Xuanming Sect, and I can spare your life."
Su Mu sneered, "Not a chance!"
The mysterious figure's eyes turned cold. "You refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a penalty!"
He raised the dagger, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Su Mu. Just at that critical moment, a flash of golden light appeared, and a figure suddenly emerged in front of Su Mu, blocking the mysterious figure's attack.
