At the end of the Floating Island, a dilapidated Star Palace hung in the void. On the palace gate's relief, three out of nine stars were missing, and the shapes of the gaps perfectly matched his ancestral jade pendant.
Yun Che embedded the jade pendant, and the palace door thunderously opened. Inside, on the Stardust-paved floor, three hundred corpses of the Starfall Clan knelt, each with a bronze dagger plunged into their hearts.
"To calm the souls of the palace... to nourish the stars with blood..." He brushed his fingers over the foreheads of the corpses, and an overwhelming sorrow and rage surged from deep within his Bloodline.
Suddenly, the Star Map on the ceiling began to rotate, and a figure coalesced into shape—Xu Ying, just as in the illusion!
"Newcomer, if you have not fallen into darkness, take this dagger," Xu Ying pointed to the blood-colored dagger on the altar. "Slay all the corpses in this palace... and you shall obtain the first key to the seal!"
Yun Che gripped the dagger tightly; its blade trembled as if weeping. A ghostly light ignited in the hollow eye sockets of the corpses, as if they were silently pleading.
"The glory of the Starfall Clan... maintained through fratricide?" He suddenly hurled the dagger into the ground, and Xing Wen transformed into chains that ensnared High Priest Xu Ying. "Give me the truth!"
Xu Ying sneered as he disintegrated: "The truth is... you are just like them... all are sacrifices!"
The Star Palace collapsed with a thunderous roar, and Yun Che fell into an abyss. In his final moment, he grasped a bronze box beneath the altar. Inside lay a Star Key resonating with his Bloodline.
As Yun Che plummeted through chaos, the Star Key erupted with blood light, illuminating the surrounding rock walls. Lava writhed beneath him like a giant serpent, its heat scorching Xing Wen into charred curls. He thrust the Star Key into the rock wall; sparks flew as its tip scraped against stone, abruptly halting his descent.
With a crash, the rock wall shattered, revealing a hollow molten chamber within. Hundreds of Bronze Coffins hung upside down from above, their bodies entwined with chains that led to a pulsating crimson heart at their ends. The heart bore an unmistakable emblem of the Starfall Clan!
"To use hearts as offerings to guard the Star Key..." Yun Che's pupils constricted.
The Star Key suddenly slipped from his grasp and flew towards the heart, its Bloodline power being frantically siphoned away. He staggered to his knees as echoes of Xu Ying's voice rang in his ears: "Sacrifice your life force to gain true transmission of Xing Yun!"
Yun Che forced himself upright and punched at the nearest Blood-Red Chains. The chains snapped in response; one Bronze Coffin exploded open, revealing a corpse clad in Star Pattern Battle Armor wielding a sword!
"Ancestor... I beg your forgiveness!" He sidestepped to avoid the sword's edge while Xing Wen coalesced into a short blade that pierced through the corpse's heart. The corpse froze mid-motion as a wisp of residual soul floated out: "Future Clan Members... flee this place quickly... The Star Key is a trap!"
Before it could say more, sounds of chains breaking echoed from deep within the molten chamber. Nine hearts exploded simultaneously, and blood mist coalesced into demonic shadows: "After three hundred years... we finally await pureblood sacrifices!"
The demonic shadows surged forward enveloped in blood mist, causing Xing Wen to dim significantly. Yun Che retreated swiftly using Flowing Wind Steps while behind him, five deep gouges were torn into the rock wall by Demon Claws.
"Your Bloodline... is more delicious than those old fools!" The demonic shadow cackled madly as blood mist formed a cage sealing off his escape route.
In this dire situation, Yun Che crushed a blood jade bell he held close. Bai Ruoyou's voice pierced through space: "Use magic against magic; stab its left eye with the Star Key!"
The Star Key shot forth and struck through the demonic shadow's left eye, causing it to explode with a blood-curdling scream: "Eclipse Envoy... how dare you betray your master!"
As the blood mist dissipated, Yun Che leaped into a dark door revealed by the collapsing shadow.
Behind the dark door lay a circular altar, at the center of which floated the Azure Bronze Cauldron. The cauldron's body was engraved with Xing Wen, and within it, the boiling Silver Liquid swirled around nine Starfall Crystal Cores. Yun Che's Xing Wen spread uncontrollably toward the mouth of the cauldron, causing the Silver Liquid to churn and solidify into a Xu Ying.
