Lin Yu stared intently at Jiang Chen, her gaze sharp enough to pierce through him. It was as if she were seeing him for the first time, filled with a mix of unfamiliarity and wariness. "You lied to me! You've been deceiving me all along!" she spat, each word forced out through clenched teeth, laden with deep anger and disappointment.
Jiang Chen's eyes flickered, like a candle flame swaying in the wind, uncertain and dim. He seemed to want to explain but was choked by something invisible, unable to utter a single word. "Lin Yu, you... you have to let me explain..." he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Explain? What is there left to explain?" Lin Yu scoffed, a mocking curve forming at the corner of her mouth, her eyes brimming with disdain and disappointment. "You used me, deceived me, treated me like a pawn to be manipulated at will. What more can you say?" Her voice grew colder, sharper than any knife, driving straight into Jiang Chen's heart.
"I... I didn't!" Jiang Chen desperately tried to defend himself. He opened his mouth but found his words utterly powerless; Lin Yu no longer believed him. Her gaze was resolute, as if she had already sentenced him to death.
"Inverse Light, let's go!" Lin Yu suddenly turned away, leaving behind the place that had shattered her heart without hesitation. Her back was so determined and resolute that it seemed to declare she would never look back again.
Jiang Chen stood there in a daze, watching Lin Yu's retreating figure, filled with regret and helplessness as if his soul had been drained away, leaving only an empty shell. He wanted to chase after her and clarify everything, but his legs felt as heavy as lead; he couldn't take a single step. He knew that no matter what he said now, it would be futile—Lin Yu no longer trusted him. Their relationship had developed an irreparable rift.
Lin Yu ran all the way home and locked herself in her room, letting tears flow freely like beads from a broken string, each drop hitting the floor with a crisp sound. She felt utterly drained, as if all her strength had been sapped away; she collapsed onto her bed like a puddle of mud. She couldn't understand why Jiang Chen had treated her this way. After everything they had been through together as partners who understood each other so well, how could he have changed so drastically? Was it truly the case that one could never fully know another's heart?
The system "Inverse Light" watched Lin Yu in pain and felt a pang of sympathy, comforting her like a gentle older sister. "Host, don't be sad; you still have me. I will always be here for you, supporting you through this tough time." Its voice was soft yet firm, flowing into Lin Yu's heart like warm spring water.
Lin Yu lifted her head and looked at Inverse Light with gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you, Inverse Light; I'm so glad you're here with me." Her voice trembled with emotion and nasal congestion but was filled with sincerity.
"Host, now is not the time for sorrow; we have more important things to do. Although the mastermind has been caught, the situation is far from over. We must uncover their true intentions and whether there are greater conspiracies behind them." Inverse Light gently reminded Lin Yu that they could not let their guard down; they still had daunting tasks ahead.
Lin Yu wiped away her tears and took a deep breath to calm herself down. "You're right, Inverse Light; we can't let sadness defeat us. We must pull ourselves together and uncover the truth to seek justice for the company and for myself." She nodded vigorously, her gaze regaining its determination like a blazing fire filled with fighting spirit.
"Host, I've already found some clues. The mastermind seems to be connected to a mysterious organization with immense power. Their ambitions appear to extend beyond just targeting your company; they aim to control the entire industry." Inverse Light shared the information it had gathered with Lin Yu, its tone serious and grave, evoking an undeniable sense of tension.
Lin Yu's heart raced at this revelation; her brows furrowed tightly. "Control the entire industry? Their ambitions are too grand! We must stop them; we cannot let them succeed!" Her voice rang out strong and resolute, filled with determination and courage.
“Host, I have devised a plan. We can take advantage of this opportunity to draw the snake out of its hole and completely destroy this mysterious organization,” Inverse Light said confidently, its voice filled with wisdom and strategy.
Lin Yu looked at Inverse Light, her eyes brimming with hope. “Great! Let’s go with your plan! I believe we can defeat them!” She swung her fist with determination, as if she could already see the dawn of victory.

“What do you want?” Lin Yu's voice was cold as ice, devoid of any warmth. “You’re not welcome here.”
Jiang Chen’s face paled. He opened his mouth as if to say something but ultimately swallowed his words. “I know you’re still upset with me, but I really have something important to tell you,” he said softly, a hint of pleading in his voice.
“What is it?” Lin Yu remained icy. “Go ahead; I’m listening.”
“It’s about the mastermind and that mysterious organization,” Jiang Chen took a deep breath and said. “I know some secrets about them that could help you.”
Lin Yu furrowed her brow slightly as she looked at Jiang Chen, a flicker of doubt crossing her eyes. “Why are you telling me this?”
"Because..." Jiang Chen hesitated for a moment before saying, "Because I don't want to see you get hurt. I hope you can stay safe."
Lin Yu fell silent, unsure whether to believe Jiang Chen's words. She had once trusted him completely, but now she found it hard to trust him again.
"I know you might not believe me, but everything I'm saying is true." Jiang Chen looked at Lin Yu, his eyes filled with sincerity. "That mysterious organization, their goals are not just limited to your company; they want to control the entire industry. Their methods are extremely ruthless, and you must be careful."
A wave of turmoil surged in Lin Yu's heart as she gazed at Jiang Chen. "How do you know all this? Who exactly are you?"
Jiang Chen's gaze flickered for a moment as he lowered his head. "I... I was once one of them."
"What?" Lin Yu gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You... you were one of them?"
"Yes." Jiang Chen nodded, saying, "But I'm no longer with them. I've betrayed them because I want to help you stop them."
Lin Yu's mind was in chaos; she didn't know whom to trust or what to do. She looked at Jiang Chen and asked, "Why did you betray them?"
"Because..." Jiang Chen lifted his head and looked at Lin Yu, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "Because I realized I couldn't continue down that path. I couldn't keep hurting you, and I couldn't do those heinous things anymore."
Lin Yu stared at Jiang Chen, her heart filled with conflict and struggle. She didn't know whether to believe him, but she also understood that Jiang Chen's presence might change everything.
"Just go. I don't want to see you again," Lin Yu suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
Jiang Chen stiffened, looking at Lin Yu with pain and helplessness in his eyes. "Lin Yu, do you really want me to leave?"
"Yes." Lin Yu's voice was cold and firm. "I don't want anything to do with you anymore. Just go."
A glimmer of despair flashed in Jiang Chen's eyes as he took a deep look at Lin Yu before turning away and silently leaving.
Lin Yu watched Jiang Chen's retreating figure, her heart twisting in pain. She didn't know whether what she had done was right or wrong, but she knew she had to do it.
"Host, why did you send him away?" The voice of Inverse Light echoed in Lin Yu's mind. "He might really be able to help us."
"I don't know," Lin Yu shook her head and replied. "I just feel that I can't trust him anymore. I'm afraid of being hurt again."
"Host, don't be afraid," Inverse Light comforted her. "I will always be with you. I will protect you."
"Mm." Lin Yu nodded, gazing out the window with confusion and unease in her eyes.
