The altar towered into the clouds, standing a full three meters high, resembling a majestic small hill from a distance.
It was constructed entirely from massive stones as black as ink, seemingly having stood here since ancient times, exuding an aura of age and unfathomable mystery.
The surface of the altar was intricately carved with various strange patterns, which seemed to reveal the faint silhouettes of demons and monsters intertwined within them.
Under the flickering flames, these patterns appeared even more sinister and terrifying, sending chills down one's spine.
Su Mu approached the altar cautiously, moving slowly and carefully.
He widened his eyes and focused intently on the complex designs on the altar's surface, trying to decipher the profound meanings contained within.
As he observed more closely, he gradually realized that these seemingly chaotic patterns were telling an ancient and distant story—a bloody legend of sacrifice and offerings.
At the top of the altar stood an enormous bronze cauldron.
The cauldron had a primitive and heavy design, its surface covered in mottled marks left by the passage of time.
Inside it was filled with an unknown liquid that exhibited a bizarre dark red color, continuously emanating a pungent and foul odor.
Just catching a whiff of this smell made Su Mu's heart tighten, a sense of foreboding washing over him.
He understood well that this cauldron filled with strange liquid was likely the offering required by the Xuanming Sect for their evil rituals.
Just as Su Mu was lost in thought, suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps reached his ears.
This unexpected sound shattered the surrounding silence like a clap of thunder.
Su Mu felt a sudden shock in his heart. Without a moment to think, he swiftly concealed himself behind a massive black stone nearby.
He held his breath tightly, daring not to make a sound, yet his heartbeat quickened uncontrollably, as if it were about to leap out of his throat.
Several figures clad in black, agile and ghostly, silently entered the deep, dark cave.
Their footsteps were so light that they seemed weightless; unless one paid close attention, it would be nearly impossible to notice anyone approaching.
Each of these black-clad individuals wielded sharp weapons that glinted coldly in the faint light of the cave, casting an ominous glow that sent chills down the spine.
Their eyes were as cold as ice, reminiscent of frost in the dead of winter, devoid of any emotion, exuding an aura of ruthless brutality.
"Is everything ready?" the leading figure in black asked in a low voice.
His tone was serious and chilling, sending shivers down the spine.
"Reporting to the Elder, everything has been arranged; we await the arrival of the Master," another black-clad figure stepped forward respectfully to respond.
Upon hearing this reply, the man referred to as Elder nodded slightly, indicating his satisfaction. "Good. This ceremony is of great importance; it is a crucial part of our plan and must not allow for any mistakes!" His words were firm and filled with an unyielding authority.
Hidden in the shadows, Su Mu took in everything with a heavy heart.
He understood that the upcoming ceremony was undoubtedly shrouded in a massive conspiracy and evil intentions. No matter what, he had to step forward and prevent it from happening!
However, at this moment, he was isolated and helpless. How could he possibly confront this group of well-trained and well-equipped black-clad figures alone?
Suppressing the tension and fear within, Su Mu cautiously continued to observe his surroundings, trying to find something that could aid him.
At that moment, his gaze inadvertently swept over the altar at the center of the cave, where an ancient and mysterious bronze cauldron was placed.
Suddenly, a bold thought flashed through his mind like lightning...
Meanwhile, far away, Su Mu's parents had just been released and returned home.
Anxiously, they paced back and forth in their house, hoping to hear news of their son, Su Mu, soon.
Poor souls, unaware of the danger Su Mu was facing at that moment, could only endure their days in a state of unease and worry.
Su Mu crouched low, swiftly hiding behind a large rock like an agile leopard.
At this moment, his heart raced as if it would leap out of his throat, but his mind was racing even faster.
He knew time was of the essence; if he couldn't successfully stop this evil ritual before the Xuanming Sect Leader arrived, the consequences would be unimaginable.
He saw that the altar held an enormous bronze cauldron filled with an unknown liquid that emitted a nauseating odor.
If he could somehow manage to topple this heavy cauldron and create chaos, perhaps he could buy himself a precious chance to escape.
However, the cauldron was far too heavy; moving it alone would be no easy task.
Moreover, the guards in black uniforms were close by; any misstep could reveal his presence.
Just as Su Mu was deep in thought, his gaze inadvertently swept across the top of the cave. Suddenly, he noticed several thick vines hanging down like giant serpents from the ceiling.
A bold and adventurous thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
Su Mu took a deep breath, trying to keep himself calm, and then stealthily moved toward the direction of the vines.
When he got close enough, he reached out and firmly grasped one of the strongest vines. With a powerful push from his legs, he soared upward like a swing, heading for the top of the altar.
Fortunately, the men in black seemed unaware of Su Mu's actions, still whispering among themselves, eagerly anticipating the appearance of their mysterious leader.
At this moment, Su Mu dared not relax for even a second. He suppressed his inner tension and fear as he quietly climbed to the top of the altar.
Once he steadied himself, Su Mu looked around again to ensure he hadn’t alerted the enemy. Only then did he take a deep breath, grit his teeth, and muster all his strength to push the bronze cauldron toward the edge of the altar.
With a thunderous crash—“Boom!”—the entire cave trembled.
A loud roar echoed like a clap of thunder as the massive bronze cauldron unexpectedly plummeted from the towering altar!
It crashed down with tremendous force onto the hard ground, instantly kicking up clouds of dust while producing a deafening and terrifying sound.
Accompanying this heart-stopping scene, the unknown liquid inside the cauldron erupted like a flood breaking through a dam, splattering everywhere.
The liquid emitted an extremely pungent and foul odor, reminiscent of the breath of demons from the depths of hell, quickly filling the entire space.
The previously vigilant men in black were stunned by this sudden turn of events, their faces turning pale.
In a panic, they drew their hidden sharp weapons, their nerves taut as they scanned every corner around them with vigilant eyes.
“Who is it?”
"How dare you act so recklessly here!"
One of the men in black snapped back to his senses, his voice sharp and piercing like the screech of an owl in the night.
Amidst the chaos, a shadow suddenly leaped down from the top of the altar, landing steadily among the panicked black-clad figures.
As everyone focused their gaze, they saw that the newcomer was none other than Su Mu!
"It’s me! You vile scoundrels will not get away with your evil deeds any longer!"
Furious, Su Mu's eyes widened as he shouted with all his might.
Without hesitation, he brandished the blazing torch in his hand and charged fiercely towards the group of men in black with an unstoppable momentum.
In an instant, flames shot into the sky, and cries of battle echoed all around. A thrilling and life-and-death struggle began...
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away at home, Su Mu's parents were anxiously waiting for their child's return.
They were completely unaware of everything happening outside and could not imagine that their beloved son was currently facing extreme danger alone, engaged in a heart-stopping battle against a ruthless dark force.
