After leaving the mysterious and tranquil valley where Daoist Xuanji resided, Ye Qiu and Su Mu set off on their journey back to the city.
As they gradually approached the urban area, the long-missed sounds of bustling activity surged toward them like a tidal wave. The busy streets filled with cars, the throngs of people, and the blaring horns intertwined to create a vibrant and lively scene, forming a stark contrast to the serenity of the valley they had just left behind.
Ye Qiu took a slow, deep breath, feeling the unique atmosphere of this familiar yet strange city envelop her. It was as if she had undergone a rebirth, with an indescribable surge of emotions welling up inside her.
At that moment, Su Mu spoke softly beside her, “Let me take you back to the police station first. Old Zhang should still be waiting for you there.” Ye Qiu nodded slightly in agreement with his suggestion.
Thus, the two drove quickly along the wide road toward the police station.
Before long, the car came to a steady stop in front of the station.
As soon as Ye Qiu and Su Mu got out of the car, they spotted Old Zhang anxiously scanning the area for them.
When Old Zhang saw Ye Qiu appear safe and sound before him, his previously worried eyes instantly filled with tears of relief. The overwhelming anxiety he had felt during her absence poured out uncontrollably.
For days on end, Old Zhang had been worried sick about Ye Qiu’s safety; his concern had been so intense that he could hardly eat or sleep peacefully.
He hurried over and embraced Ye Qiu tightly, his voice trembling as he choked out, “You girl! You’ve finally come back safe! I was so worried about you…” Feeling Old Zhang’s genuine care, Ye Qiu’s eyes also turned slightly red.
She gently patted Old Zhang’s broad shoulder and smiled reassuringly, “Don’t worry, Old Zhang. I’m fine now. This time it was more frightening than dangerous. I’m really sorry for making you worry so much.”
As she spoke, her heart was filled with immense gratitude.

There were too many important matters she needed to address—uncovering the hidden hand manipulating everything behind the scenes and bringing it to justice, in order to honor the brave comrades who had sacrificed their lives.
Only then could she truly repay the blood and lives they had given.
Just as she was immersed in her memories and thoughts, a gentle and concerned voice broke the silence: “Ye Qiu, what do you plan to do next?” It was Su Mu, his deep and bright eyes gazing at Ye Qiu as if he could see through all her thoughts.
Ye Qiu slowly turned her head to meet Su Mu's gaze, and a sharp glint flashed in her eyes.
After a brief pause, she replied firmly, “I need to see Captain Zhao first to understand the current situation.
Then…” At this point, Ye Qiu unconsciously clenched her fists. “I will go settle accounts with the Xuanming Sect! No matter how powerful or mysterious they are, I will uncover their true nature and make them pay for their crimes!”
“The Xuanming Sect…” Su Mu furrowed his brow tightly, softly repeating those three words as a deep worry flickered in his eyes.

Ye Qiu and Su Mu hurried to the hospital, their steps quick yet heavy with concern.

Captain Zhao's wife tightly held her daughter's hand, her anxious gaze fixed on Ye Qiu and Su Mu as they approached.
Upon confirming that it was indeed Ye Qiu who was coming, her face instantly lit up with an ecstatic smile, though tears began to uncontrollably roll down her cheeks.
The little girl beside her appeared somewhat timid, clutching her mother's clothing tightly.
"Ye Qiu, I can't thank you enough. Thank you for coming back safely," Captain Zhao's wife said as she hurried forward to grasp Ye Qiu's hands, her voice trembling slightly.
Her eyes were already red and swollen from crying, filled with sincere gratitude as she looked at Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu quickly reassured her, "Sister-in-law, please don't say that. It's what I should do.
Captain Zhao has always been like a big brother to me; how could I possibly stand by and watch him suffer?"
"Rest assured, I will find that despicable murderer and avenge Captain Zhao!" He said, gripping Captain Zhao's wife's hand firmly, offering her a sense of unwavering strength.
Following that, Ye Qiu and Su Mu, guided by Captain Zhao's wife, slowly entered the hospital room where Captain Zhao lay.
The room was filled with a strong scent of disinfectant, and sunlight streamed through the white curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
Captain Zhao lay quietly on the hospital bed, covered with a pristine white blanket. His face was pale as paper, his eyes tightly closed, and he appeared lifeless.
Ye Qiu walked slowly to the bedside, gazing at Captain Zhao's familiar yet haggard face. A surge of indescribable anger and sorrow welled up within her.
"Captain..." Ye Qiu whispered softly. She extended her trembling hand and gently touched Captain Zhao's arm, as if trying to transfer her inner strength to him.
However, Captain Zhao remained unresponsive, still lost in that endless darkness.
Ye Qiu took a deep breath, striving to calm her turbulent emotions. She turned to Captain Zhao's wife and daughter and solemnly said, "Sister-in-law, little sister, please believe me. I will not let the murderer go unpunished.
The scoundrels of the Xuanming Sect will pay a heavy price for their crimes!"
After leaving the hospital, both Ye Qiu and Su Mu felt an overwhelming heaviness in their hearts.
Yet they were not discouraged; instead, their resolve to eradicate the Xuanming Sect grew stronger.
They understood that a long and arduous battle awaited them ahead. Nevertheless, they were fully prepared and stepped onto this path of vengeance filled with danger and challenges without hesitation.
