After destroying all the hidden traps, Ye Qiu paused and turned to look at Su Mu and Captain Zhao behind him, raising his hand slightly to signal them to follow closely.
Then, Ye Qiu crouched low, moving stealthily like a ghost as he continued deeper into the valley.
Su Mu and Captain Zhao followed closely, fully focused and cautious, not daring to make a sound.
The entire valley was eerily quiet, even the rustling of leaves in the wind seemed unusually clear.
However, Ye Qiu keenly sensed that although everything appeared calm on the surface, countless hidden eyes were watching them from the shadows.
The feeling of being monitored pricked at Ye Qiu’s back like a thorn, making him increasingly vigilant.
“Everyone must be careful. I’m certain that those from the Xuanming Sect are hiding in some corner nearby, ready to strike at any moment,” Ye Qiu whispered urgently to Su Mu and Captain Zhao.
With that, he quickened his pace, leading them swiftly through the dense and shadowy woods ahead.
As they stepped out of the forest, the scenery before them suddenly opened up.
In a spacious hollow among the mountains stood an ancient building, weathered by time.
This structure was built against the mountain, cleverly blending into the surrounding landscape. Its unique shape was breathtaking.
From a distance, the entire building seemed to emanate an air of mystery that compelled one to explore further.
“Look! That must be the secret base of the Xuanming Sect!” Ye Qiu pointed towards the ancient building in the distance, speaking with conviction.
Upon hearing Ye Qiu's words, Captain Zhao waved his hand decisively and shouted, “Since we’ve spotted our target, let’s charge in and catch them off guard!”
However, Ye Qiu quickly shook his head, rejecting Captain Zhao’s suggestion.
Furrowing her brows, she analyzed seriously, “No, we cannot act recklessly. The terrain here is complex and ever-changing, and we know nothing about the internal situation of the Xuanming Sect. If we rush in like this, we could easily fall into a trap they’ve set up and become ambushed. Therefore, we must first observe the situation clearly before making any decisions.”
“What should we do now?” Su Mu asked anxiously in a low voice.
Ye Qiu's expression was grave as he scanned the surroundings with piercing eyes. After a moment of contemplation, he replied, "There's no need to rush. Our immediate plan should be to patiently observe the environment around us and thoroughly understand the troop deployment of the Xuanming Sect here. Only then can we formulate a detailed and comprehensive action plan."
With that, the three quickly moved behind a towering tree, using the dense foliage for cover as they held their breath and cautiously peered at the activity around them.
After a meticulous investigation, they were startled to discover that numerous sentry posts were strategically placed around the ancient building.
Moreover, several mysterious figures clad in black were patrolling with weapons in hand, moving methodically. The entire defense was indeed as solid as a fortress, impenetrable and watertight.
"Given this situation, it seems that the people of the Xuanming Sect have long been plotting and have set up an intricate web here, just waiting for us to walk into their trap!" Ye Qiu murmured darkly, his face as grim as water.
Beside him, Su Mu furrowed his brow in concern and echoed, "Indeed, their defenses are far too tight. With our current strength, approaching them quietly will be no easy task."
However, just when everyone felt at a loss for what to do, Ye Qiu's eyes suddenly lit up as if he had caught sight of a crucial clue.
He fixed his gaze on the back of the ancient building and said softly, "Look over there; behind that ancient structure lies a winding path leading up to the mountain top.
This route is quite hidden and has no sentries along the way. In my opinion, this could very well be a gap in the Xuanming Sect's defenses." After saying this, Ye Qiu focused intently on that path, trying to find more opportunities to breach the enemy's defenses.
"We can sneak around to the back of the ancient building using that path and launch a surprise attack," Ye Qiu suggested while pointing at the trail.
"That plan is feasible!" Captain Zhao agreed. "Let's do it!"
Ye Qiu, Su Mu, and Captain Zhao immediately sprang into action. They quietly maneuvered past the front of the ancient building and made their way to the path leading up to the mountain top.
The path was rugged and overgrown with weeds, making it difficult to traverse. But Ye Qiu and his companions were agile and soon reached the summit.
From their vantage point atop the mountain, they could overlook the entire secret base of the Xuanming Sect.
They noticed a large square behind the ancient building where hundreds of black-clad individuals had gathered, engaged in some mysterious ritual.
"What are they doing?" Su Mu asked in confusion.
"I don't know," Ye Qiu shook his head and replied. "But it certainly can't be anything good. We must stop them as soon as possible!"
"We charge down now!" Captain Zhao said.
"No, no need to rush," Ye Qiu replied. "Let's observe the situation first, find their leader, and then capture the ringleader!"
The three continued to watch the scene in the square, and soon they spotted an elderly man in a long black robe.
The old man stood in the center of the square, his expression solemn and his presence imposing.
"That person must be the leader of the Xuanming Sect!" Ye Qiu pointed at the old man and said.
"Let's rush down and capture him!" Captain Zhao exclaimed.
"Alright!" Ye Qiu nodded and said, "We'll act together!"
Ye Qiu, Su Mu, and Captain Zhao charged down from the mountaintop towards the crowd of the Xuanming Sect in the square.
An intense battle was about to unfold.
How would Ye Qiu, Su Mu, and Captain Zhao respond to this crisis?
And how would the conspiracy of the Xuanming Sect be shattered?
